You asked about how they choose the songs they do. From hearing them talk about it, it's a big combo of factors, but for this one it's mostly that it was highly requested in their comments. It probably helps that they do a ton of Disney stuff (most of them having worked at Disney/Universal Studios), and this is from Pirates of the Caribbean. This is one of my favourite things they've done yet - so crazy. Geoff arranged/produced this one and knocked it out of the park.

I know I have a blindspot because I have loved musical theater and movie musicals since I was in kindergarten, but it just warms my heart to hear someone appreciate the dramatic and cinematic effects in this video on top of the beautiful musicality of it. I know people have different tastes, but I have to admit that if I run across a reviewer complaining about how theatrical they are, I do tend not to not watch them do another Voiceplay reaction.

Geoff has said he was listening to Metallica before he arranged this, so some of that bled in.
They filmed in front of a backdrop, and Eli uses a cued lighting program to keep the lighting and fog machine synched to the playback so they stay consistent throughout each take; wide, close, panning, whatever.
I like how you reviewed, this is my first time seeing you. I subbed.
