    To get rid of the smell, use lysol(use your favorite smell)to kill the smell(let dry spray again if necessary). I use this on books formerly used by smokers.

      I agree with this statement. Just subbed. Something about the white beard speaks wisdom to me.

    The Therm-a-Rest can be cinched to adjust the firmness. BTW. You have great videos!

    There's a drawstring on the side of the Thermorest which allows you to condense the foam and get it to have more loft. You can also put it in a compression sack with your down quilt/sleeping bag. At that point it will take up very little room in your bag. It still takes up more room than the other pillows, but i swear by it.

    Thanks! As a side sleeper with broader shoulders, I ended up going with a standard size Nemo Fillo stacked with a Trekology Aluft Plus. Great size/comfort while maintaining a small enough size in my pack

      Yeah, I do the same, a Klymit and a Coleman stuffed united with a Buff.

    I enjoy my trekology pillow but the Nemo Fillo (regular) and the Thermarest Aeros premium are great too (thick 4 inch) The fillo and aeros softness are amazing.

    The best pillow in this video hasn't been used in a year and a half. But the pillow that replaced it was not reviewed? What did you replace the Klymit Luxe with?

    Hi and thanks for your brilliant review. I do like my pillows to be a little larger so: Q: have you looked at the Trekology Aluft Plus, which appears the same as the de-luxe but is a little larger. What is your view, it is only a little more expensive? Thanks!

    I like the variety and very well made video. However it would be good to see you and a few others give there opinion on the channel at the same time so we can get a all round totall. Also you're missing Sea to Summit and the old tradition folded jacket/shirt in a small bag. 👍

    Sea to Summit Aeros Deluxe is my go to pillow. Also use the Big Sky Dreamsleeper when I really want to shave ounces.

    I've got the Trekology Aluft 2.0 which I use pretty regularly. It's pretty comfortable and packs down really small, but for a side sleeper such as myself it seems to hurt my ear after a while laying on one side.

    Just ordered the trekology aluft deluxe.. got for $16 on Amazon. Also ordered the naturehike mongar2 as it also had good reviews for a budget tent. Got that on sale for $99 on Amazon.
    I’ve heard folks say good things about the Nemo deluxe but I’m super sensitive to chemical smells so I’m glad you mentioned that. Plus I only got a 50L pack (Decathlon $99) so need to be conscious of space.
    Looking forward to my first overnight backpacking trip (not yet scheduled but happening this fall!)
    Will be testing items out in my yard and also on a friends property in the woods. Hope they all work out well! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

    It seems like this video wasn't well-researched. There are cinches on the back of the Thermarest pillow to tighten up the foam. Was that even a valid way to review the Fillo Luxury? Did it smell because of human error? Could you have not washed it and then try it? It also packs a little larger than the klymit pillow. For someone who actually tried all these pillows out. This video was not informative.

    While I appreciate the info on price and packable size, you didn’t include any of the weights. The weight is of particular concern for backpackers. Thanks for the video though.

      @WildernessGrandpa  6 месяцев назад +1

      Weight is not a main concern for me. I take whatever items I want in order to be comfortable.

    There’s no such thing as a side sleeper. Everyone turns. Everyone.

    • @WildernessGrandpa
      @WildernessGrandpa  3 месяца назад +1

      What is your point? Surely you understand that the term "side-sleeper" simply means someone who prefers to sleep on his side, not someone that lays on his side and never, ever moves.
