I remember hearing Alive when it came out and the "CAUSE I'M STILL ALIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE!!!!!!!" backing vocal at the end of the chorus caught me off guard. I thought this can't be the same guy singing xD It's really cool to hear this side of Avi again

But here's a list of other songs I would consider pretty hard rock, in a similar vein to Liar Liar. In order from newest to oldest: Imperfected Cleansing Flame 21st Century Monster Can You Hear It? Outside The Cinematic Future Undying Ordinarily Human Wake Me When It's Over (has a similar atmosphere to Liar Liar imo) Alive (as mentioned above) The Monsters Under My Bed (debatable) Jaws The Surface Crash Revenge - there's still some more than this, but these came to my mind first. everything older I'll let you check out for yourself :)

I didn't realize that a new album was coming out today. I'm so happy to have yet another set of new Avi songs! And this album shows even more improvement over the others. Woah, I knew it would happen eventually since "Into the Black" and "Outside," and even your Sister Location song, but holy hell, the screaming was amazing! The passion/rage expressed throughout this song, it's awesome! Even the instrumentals feel quite nostalgic, as though I were back in the days when I discovered your Bloodborne and MLP songs. Peak Souls-like.
Its honestly a very good soulslike. They knocked it out of the park with their level design, I was absolutely loving every shortcut or turn around that brought me back somewhere I know. This is peak souls like imo.
Always amazed by the tonal progression choices and the way you masterfully pull them off! Screaming vocals are a great addition. And the lyrics - oh my lord, you never miss!

Bought a signed physical copy of the album about 10 minutes after release, and then immediately played the digital one. This was a GOD TIER opening. Casting Shadows is rivaling Modern Mythology as my favorite album.

DAMN good game, but dont play it like bloodbourne dark souls or elden ring... it is TRUELY a souls LIKE, it has its own rules and way to play... so go in expecting it to be its own experience, and you WILL love it! GREAT story, fun but challenging gameplay and just... something im probably gonna go back and play through a 6th time
This is not to discredit how great this is or anything; this reminded me of some of the MegaMan fan songs from The Megas! Very different sound, but the themes. A number of their songs go pretty introspective, especially ones from the POVs of Megaman/Rock himself and of Protoman/Blues, including calling into question the morality, intentions, and human limitations of Dr. Light.

Never played Lies of P, but this song makes me want to. Also, this really reminds me of Wake Me When It's Over, and I fucking love that song so I fuck with this hard.
Oh this is remarkable. The mechanical elements in the instrumentals are a nice touch and the metal typical rough voice is something I was not expecting to ever hear from you, but you've blended it into your style remarkably naturally here. One point of criticism I have though (as someone who just listens to music here and there) would be that towards the start of each verse the vocals get overshadowed by the instruments and kinda seem to clash, in that the singing has a more dynamic, changing flow while the instrumental side of things marches along fairly statically. It makes the weaving work of the lyrics tough to hear at those times, so good thing they are shown on screen too. No complaints to be had about anything else really.
I love the stories that you tell with your beautiful voice and moving music! Even if I’m not familiar with the subject, your songs are still meaningful.

It's challenging but once you get the hang of it, it's a 10 out of 10.
