I've noticed price drops across all makes and models, just like you predicted a few months back. Lots of stuff that's been for sale for a while...definitely a buyers market
Chris, I am sold on your services & expertise. Love the Ben41 just as you say. Retiring next year and I will be getting your consulting package and moving & grooving. Keep up the great videos, they never get old....Holy Shiitake!!!
This is my price range at the moment. Tempted by the older boats as I like the classic look and build quality aspects. I have to watch your videos to keep my head straight and looking at boats from this century.
Comment: personally I liked the “delivery” videos you have done. I’m new-ish to your channel and I’m an information junkie, thank you for all the work you put into your videos.
I would love to see some in specific parts of the world. Like boats for sale in Asia right now, or boats currently in the med. let’s branch out geographically :)
here's the thing. I don't sail. I don't think I'll ever buy a boat. I'm pretty sure I'd die pretty quickly even trying to sail. BUT... I come and watch these videos all the time....Why... WHY? HOURS... I SPEND HOURS listening to this guy yell TRASH CAN and LENGTH OVER ALL... and I'm like why am I here and why can't I leave.
you definitely find the gems on YW. I have always found Hunters and Catalinas to be ugly and being on them, even only at boat shows makes me depressed, like there has to be more to life than one of these things. For some reason, I don't always see tthe ones you find, so it good to see they are out there. I am taking my time, but I am being convinced about the Chasing Latitudes process
I enjoyed your video, and you're not afraid to voice your opinion! I need to point out however, that the boat that you called the best deal was damaged in hurricane Irma, and as you stated one would need to see the boat in person to see what condition she's in from being chartered, as well as determining the quality of the hurricane repairs. Also, no discussion of the engine adequacy or hours. Lastly, the photos of the boat were of a sister ship, and not of the boat for sale. Just saying . . . .
Nothing like watching other people spending money. No doubt on your positions about the value of the listing. Finding it is the not hard part, getting to the true value is.
Chris, I'm up in Seattle and your videos have definitely showed me I'm going to have to travel way south just to find anything reasonably priced.......why oh why does it have to cost so damn much up here!
@@ChasingLatitudescheck prices here in Hong Kong for nuts! These people think their boats are worth the same price that they purchased them for. Absolute potatoes 🥔
what is your opinion on this modern take on the fast lightweight cruising boat by French yards like Pogo, RM, JPK? Maybe could be a good topic for a video
Chris, I am looking to retire around the end of this year. Hope to be purchasing a boat at that time. It's been 12 years since I owed my Hunter 37 Cutter and so much has changed in the industry. Thank you for bringing me up to speed. I have learned a lot from you so far. Look forward to more of your videos. Dario
We have a 2000 hunter 410 and we like it. Use it to go from the Chesapeake to the Bahamas each year for 8 months. We spent loads on upgrades. The stairs don’t bother our dog. We love the cockpit- biggest one we have been on. I guess dual helm would be nice but it’s not been something I miss. It is getting a little old though- either way we are heading down to the Bahamas for another season
@@ChasingLatitudes Why do i get this “sinking”(pun not intended) feeling. I started off wanting a Hunter 45CC. Somehow after watching 100’s of you videos, I feel like I will end up with a 40ft Beneteau, dual helm, newer, ex-charter. I blame you
That is hard due to your location, you could probably buy in the Caribbean, hire a capt to bring it to you and still come out ahead, I love the oceanis 41s
@@ChasingLatitudes I’m going to get off social media for a week or so and sign up for your consultation. Of course I’ve been saying that to myself for over a year now😳
You're hysterical! These videos are awesome, as you showcase the practical aspects of needs vs. wants and what works and what doesn't at specific price points. Your input is valuable, unlike Tim from lady k sailing who's a buffoon and spews nonsense. Keep up the awesome!
That Hunter 376 for $150k is a good buy. Hunter is a brand spoken alongside other high-end brands like Hallberg-Rassy, Malo and Oyster. And the late 90's model represents the pinnacle of perfection in yacht design, with a delicious sheer line, a hull form which serves to make way in a seaway without the trap of form stability, and finally simply the most beautiful sight lines of any yacht since mid 20th century Finnish boats.
I’m a sailor living in the PNW (pacific northwest). It’s hard to watch your videos as the price disparity is insane. It would be enjoyable to watch you do a video on PNW sailboats as I think you underestimate the costs of sailing vessels up here. Guessing it has to be the most expensive area (in the world?) to purchase a boat . Case in point, I’m moored beside a 30’ 1998 Catalina they want $59 000.oo for… Cheers
Hi Chris. I’m 55 and looking to escape the world on a budget. I’ll soon be signing up for full consultations and it may take a few years until I’m ready to make the jump. I’m definitely interested in helping to crew for you in the next few years. I’ve just gotta earn a bit more.

please do the Gemini vid, they seem like interesting boats. Everyone talks about the huge Leopards and Lagoons but most of us live in the lower price budget world and having less than $120K options would make it much more realistic
Chris looked at that 2016 Oceanis 41 in a video 8 months ago and it was 108k back then. So, I'm going to needed everyone to stay away from that boat for about 6-8 months so I can grab it up for about 65k.
I think I want a sub 40' cat. Stability sounds nice. No xp. Want to go to the S Pacific because I haven't been there. Carribean is great, been there a bit.
I'm only commenting because you called me a dingle dong and that made me sad. Btw, that Hunter e36 is a factory hybrid electric. So, it was a factory installed thing.
