I have come here to seek refuge from the pandemic, riots, economic obliteration and the many other woes within the world. Peace and happiness are here. All are welcome. Thanks man.
@@tc8714 Haha.. Ever since I started watching musti1 and the like.. my stockpile of lawnmowers, rototillers, leaf blowers, and pressure washers, etc.. has grown exponentially! If it is extra, and an easy fix.. wrench on it and trade up. If it isn’t extra.. you probably should better take care of your stuff! Lol..
paige hunt no don’t let a bike manufacture get their hands into this stuff! Because next thing you know the government will dig deeper into our pockets!
Whew!!..SO glad I'm not the only one who sees potential value in old bits and pieces like scraps of aluminum pipe from chairs, brackets, old flashlights, brikabrak, etc...I may need a bigger house! Good haul and great salvage, sir-!
Nice bit of fabrication there with the new fan shroud. It made a big difference to the overall look of the bike. And that 60's chopper fishtail exhaust sounds awesome. Your vids are firmly entrenched as part of my Sunday routine. Hope you keep doing them for many years to come.
The snail-horn one? I thought that too, it looked small enough and would be a nice surprise for folks. But then he'd need to mount a reasonably beefy battery to make it work properly, which he might be planning to do anyway to run lighting.
Was anybody else yelling 'leave it alone' when he had the straight rectangular piece for the exhaust in position the first time? Looked great to me following the straight line of the chain. Oh well, guess I can make it that way when I build my own. Love these videos.
Your endings that you put in that have nothing to do with your channel are FIVE STAR!! Seeing the other side of you without prying into your private life is special. Thanks Mr. D. It’s always a joy to see Lilly.
I can't believe this work of art was headed to the heap. These bikes are perfect for this. They look just like early motorcycles. I got the fever. The red tires on a brass colored wheel are really sharp.
yea great video good sr. i enjoyed seeing your thought process .beautiful shot at the end with the waterfall too. have a good day everyone reading this.
Quarantine living aboard my sailboat - no shop/garage for two years now.. I vicariously live my build/fix/create desires through you and your awesome work - keep it up man, I LOVE it !!!
I am 5 miles outside a small town and live alone. So although not quarantined I am out here by myself without any family and VERY FEW friends. I do not go anywhere unless I have to. I want to build one so I can get out without my Jeep Grand Cherokee sucking my gas MONEY. LOL. I can go fishing with it.
It was the right decision to make a new cover, it’s looking amazing. Thank you for sharing your amazing journey. Be careful and safe. God bless you and your family.
Some school needs to confer upon Mustie an honorary degree in "repurpose industrial design". Heck, he could teach a graduate course. That Industrial streamline in the original bike now has a lot of supporting accents and engine true to the original style. The welding of the pull start/fan cover was absolutely beautiful.
I'm getting to like those red-brick tyres! They really do pick up on the red detail of the frame and chain guard. I'm glad you built a new fan shroud from scratch too - it wouldn't look right, trying to spin the engine over in the wrong direction. The handmade steel shroud is much more in keeping with the bike, and with your handicraft. The exhaust is pretty neat too, looks the part, and makes the engine sound more like a bike engine. I can hardly wait to see you riding this creation, and the big wide smile that I just know is coming.
An old velvet brand pipe tobacco tin would have been perfect, but like the yellow with the red letters! Really pops your eye to the center of the bike! Has a great sound! 👍
Really old meets new but there is always a way huh you can make anything new look old when you want to great video stay safe stay well and as always God bless
I really like the made recoil cover. Also the stream at the end gave me an architectural feel with all the stone formations. Love the sound of that little motor.
None of the others would do! The pull start was in the wrong direction. Doesn't matter with two stroke but this is a 4 STROKE. May have to have a muffler box in the exhaust to lower the noise level to get a plate or may get pulled over.
Nice bit of fabricating there, looks great. A copper/steel/brass medallion in the center of the pull start housing would look cool, or maybe cut a circle from an old sign or can. I like the exhaust, but would like to see it looped tighter at the engine....something seems a bit off there...maybe it extends too close to the frame. ........But what do I know? Friggin armchair mechanic here : )
Agreed. The exhaust header should have a sharper bend at the top (if doing that wouldn't ruin the exhaust scavenging) and less of one at the bottom so it parallels the frame. It shouldn't stick out in front like that. It just doesn't look that well the way it is.
I liked the way you explored all the possibilities of finding a pull start housing from what you had at hand, and then gathering your thoughts and deciding to fabricate one yourself. I guess everybody that watches you have been there and done that .Thankyou for your content.
Your bicycle generator reminded me of one I had out in CA in the early 70s. I was coasting down the Big Bear Mountain highway at about 40 mph, when I hit a bump, and the generator engaged. Can you believe I blew out both the front and rear bulbs. I guess I needed a voltage regulator at high speeds.
I had a reminder too. Going down a steep hill on a paper round in the rain, the wires came out of the front light. I didn't want them to 'jam' in the spokes , (thought I am on a bike with rubber tyres: won't get an electric shock). I grabbed the exposed wires with my hand and AC surged through me and I couldn't let it go! I did the AC 'dance' !! I thought "How do I get out of this?" Pulled the wires up and they came out of that GIGAWATT generator. Had a sore arm for a wee while. LOL I can understand how your lights blew...
Happy dog! This is turning out really sweet. If you're looking for things to do (ha) you could split the case and anodize the pieces with a flat black dye. But please mend the power cord on that grinder first.
Coming along nicely. Make Rear Fender supports match front ones. Chain guard needed Both chains, at least as far back as tire on the powered one. Remove a hand grip, loosen bolt and slide out handlebars and reverse them so you are looking forward and they are upward as designed. You might consider a Gusset plate on that seat pipe unless it is Sched. 40. Cut the bottom off the rectangular can and use it for filter housing. Mount vertical. A small polished disc of Al or SS on the centre of the recoil. Or Vehicle emblem. M-B? Harley 1 !

I think this build needs the bike siren I saw in one of those milk crates....
I saw that and immediately thought he had found his air cleaner but nope , never gave it a look.
The snail-horn one? I thought that too, it looked small enough and would be a nice surprise for folks. But then he'd need to mount a reasonably beefy battery to make it work properly, which he might be planning to do anyway to run lighting.

Yeah, originally I was a fan of the whitewalls, but this follows the distressed bronze kinda look on the rest. Gas tank's too shiny now, though.
I'm 66 and I've never seen tires that color. Am I weird? I do like them on that bike though.

A lways great to see your videos. They cheer me up and give me inspiration to get a new project going. All the best from Phillip Island, Australia
Too bad, this isn´t a 2stroke, the exhaust fumes would oil the chain while driving!

Yeah, but that's a difficult bend, close to the flange.
What about using a 90 degree plumbing fitting but use a steel one. He must have a suitable spare one in the stash somewhere.

Mount the exhaust pipe to the frame with and old valve spring from a small engine to give it some play.
I would burn my leg on that exhaust pipe. Can you vent the exhaust toward the front wheel?
