- this is the grand finale on my 4 stroke street legal 1955 schwinn phantom that l built out of scrap. lets take it out on a beat run and see how it holds up.

Hey Mustie, It breaks my heart to hear that there wasn't much interest in this video. This bike build has been one of my favorites. and..... man does that exhaust sound nice. :D

Kinda got me when you said this wasn't one of you more watched series. This build is the thing that got me to sub to your channel. I've personally loved it.
The great thing about this channel is its diversity - personally speaking I'm far more interested in Darren's videos that show some kind of engine repair but there are some viewers who will prefer bodywork repair, a bit of welding, bike building and the like and that's cool too. There's something for everyone who likes this kind of stuff. :)
Im confused as well, maybe not a lot of people watch according to his list. But it was idd very nice to see him build it.
I've got some old bike parts and chain saw motors I've been eyeballing since seeing his videos.
All mustie1 videos are good but what I think he's getting at is he has done this multiple times. He's made several fantastic bikes.. He's just done it before

yeah..he's gotta angle his body cam up when he takes us along fer a ride...gets tirin looking @ his handlebars and front wheel all the time-no perspective of what the rider sees

This has been the most incredible build throughout. It's art, really. The bike looks fantastic. I personally like the rack on. It gives it a kind of purposeful look.
Plus, if you're cruising for chicks, you need somewhere for them to sit. They can't all balance on the handlebars

That's a sweet build. Doing the shakedown on that sweet private drive was a golden idea. Looked like fun.
That bike sitting in the back of Crusty is awesome. Someone (not me) should make a painting of that.
Personally I think a set of aged saddle bags would be a great addition..... (for tools and groceries)

If this was back in the late 1890’s when Mr. Harley and Mr. Davidson were thinking about starting a motor driven cycle company, they would have been offering you a job. I need to build me one of these for me and my better half. Really great build Mustie!

Thanks for showing this build. It reminds me of what I did during WW-2 when nothing could be found. It all went for the war effort. Only a few scrap yards were available to find parts I could use for a build. But that was half the fun.

It reminds me of an old board racer. All engine, no brakes. =-D I think this is the nicest ride you've made yet. I was trying to imagine the kid that first owned the bike. Coming down on X-mas day, and seeing this beautiful bike buy the tree. I imagine if he saw it now he would have a big ear to ear grin, and wonder why he ever let it go.
For your next bike project, may I humbly offer the Idea of making a two cylinder bike out of a couple of Chinese four strokes. Mount a fly wheel between the two engines, and go.
Thoroughly enjoyed the build series on this bike, i really like your ingenuity of getting scrap and creating such cool machines.
Shame that living in the UK we're not allowed to ride stuff like this on the road without them being registered, MOTd, taxed and insured. I'd love to build something like this and your other builds.... Perhaps just for show and off road use.

Consider: An Ammo Box on each side of the rack. When closed, the boxes could make the "rack" real wide. Then, keep some bungies within. Oh yeah, it should have a bike speedo. Bo.

Beautiful job man. I had a 1949 Wizzer when I was a kid and this reminded me of it. Especially the sound. Thanks for the memories
This build is so dang cool I had to hit the subscribe button . I"M 72 and just got my first china bike 2 stroke . I love it but now I want to build a 4 stroke using a Preditor 212 engine .
The bike is a little cleaner with the rack off, but looks like it's going faster with it on!
I say rack on but with a splash of mustie1 flare.
Ein Bullie. I saw the VW in the background and had to stop in. This was my dad’s first truck, color and all, for his newly open business in 1969. I have so many found memories going with him to his jobs.

After cursing mouse nests for years, Mustie1 jams a steel wool mouse nest into the muffler.
Spark arrestor to meet state laws... yes of course officer it is equipped with a spark arrestor. lol
He should patent an oil and mouse nest undercoating and distressing product delivered via tee shirt air cannon. Turn-key solution.

to beat the mouse nest, you have to become the mouse nest.
I have to say you are braver then I ,I wouldn't ride it without some kind of front breaks on it. But I think you did a great job on it . it looks awesome !!!

It looks So good! Love the coin washers. Even though you said it wasn't as popular as other stuff, I really enjoy the bike builds. Also, I had never thought to use Tung oil as a finish for metal, thanks for the tip from awhile back!

The bike build is awesome; artistic and useful and looks like a hella lotta fun! Nice scenery; if you'd made that drive where I grew up the neighbors would be watching every move, from a mile or so away. And you'd see them too.
I think all your bicycle builds are your real talent. Very original with am artist eye and a master mechanics engineering. I think all your videos are good, i love VW's plus i learn stuff about engines, etc. but these are some of the best hand made bikes ive ever seen , really. To me, they are priceless.

Looks great, not a fan of the air filter. You've done such a nice job of making everything look like it came that way, that the air filter looks out of place. Definitely rack off. My two cents. It is cool looking!
The air filter should be darkened up a bit.
Agreed I think he should make his own air filter to match the muffler and the gas tank.

I really have enjoyed this series a ton, and it got my dad hooked on your channel as well. Too bad this was not getting the appropriate amount of love, but to each their own. Was looking forward to more bike vids in the future, but alas! Keep up the good work!
