Hi, in this case it is not necessary to remove the complete HVAC box, you only have to remove 10 aprox screws from the evaporator and that's it. When I remove an evaporator again I will record it and upload it.
Is this same method used on a Hyundai Sonata? If so Did you have to disconnect the steering column before pulling the dash back? Also do I not need to take the dash apart? All the videos I see have people taking the whole dash apart.
Hi, yes is the same method. You have to disconnect the steering shaft (lower part only 12mm) before you remove the whole dash. If you have other question just write me. I have another video in my channel about removing the evaporator cover, you don't need to take the entire dash out of the car. Of course if you are of average height.
@@gretchentechnician4902 awesome! Thankyou for your response! So steps in the video are remove lower dash covers, disconnect steering shaft, then unbolt bolts around dash by the door frames and the bolts under the hood near the windshield wipers then after that what should I do or am I missing any steps?
First I put the seats with more space because if the seat is electric I won't be able to move it later. I disconnect the battery, remove the gas, then disconnect the antifreeze hoses in the engine area. (there are 2 hoses). You need to take out the wiper cover (2 -14mm) Remove the wiper bolts which are 2 - 12mm. Then you remove the rubbers from the doors and the plastics from below and above in the corners and disconnect the connectors
The top plastics in the corners that have the air bags have a hard clip. You can use a flat blade screwdriver and a bent pick tool. You must press up and down at the same time for it to come out. In the chassis area there are 2 black caps, you must remove them and open 2 -12mm. You should also remove 2 -12mm next to the dash You must remove the plastic at the bottom of the sterring wheel to disconnect the connectors from the juction box. ( Everyone)
