I agree with you 100% brother! I said the same thing it’s so beautiful that you don’t really wanna use it in rough areas, but that is what I use it for living off grid. They should make a more rugged version of this so I won’t feel so bad if I get a scratch.

Another issue Eccoflow has across the board is no filter to keep your $3000 device clean inside.

Ruggedized version makes incredible sense for contractors. You could be charging it while driving to the site. Plus even charging from the vehicle would be quieter than most gas generators.

Nice review. I like the idea of having batteries that can get you through a 24 hour power outage, and a fuel generator to recharge the battery after that. You waste a lot of fuel when you are only powering light loads for long periods of time. Better to just run it occasionally to recharge the battery.

Just a heads up for anyone thinking about buying an Ecoflow power station. If they are out of an item, their website will not state this. Therefore, they will take your money for something they don't even have in stock. I ordered a River 2/panel combo for my daughter. The panel was shipped, but the not the River2. I had to email them to find out what is going on with the River2. That's when they informed me that they won't have any until the end of July.

The problem is not the batteries but the high frequency inverters cannot handle consistent high demand loads for extended periods of time. Most failures come from MOSFET'S failure on the battery side due to being overloaded. Most people who own these devices won't be using them for high demand applications for long periods of time, thus the Chinese companies can offer what seems to be a good warranty for up to 5 years. They know the inverter and other internal components will fail, while the batteries will remain viable for several years using this as a marketing ploy. That's my one problem...

Very cool, Haxmeister! Thanks for sharing this. If I didn't already have my propane generator I would consider this. Cost would be my main concern ...I'd like to know total cost including solar panels. Guess I'll continue with my existing units. Thanks again! Take care, be safe and God bless!

The price. I can get 1500WH portable LFP units these days for just $699. So extrapolate that to 4000WH and it should be $1850, add in the 240V and a few bells and whistles and this should be NO MORE than $2500.

Awesomesauce video Adam!! I know who's house I want to head to after our next hurricane!!
This would make it SO much easier to work outside.
If you want to ruggedize it, Just spray some Line-X (or latest one) on it. Obviously tape off some important sections first.
That would make for a GOOD follow up HX video.
Just like the follow up on the Volvo XC90 wrap we are still waiting to see happen! LOL

@HaxmanXTRA is it the vinyl wrap that protects the paint underneath? Hell with our current weather, you would be able to stretch it without any problems.

can you use a traditional generator to charge the ecoflow? Is it safe due to THD, or do you need an inverter generator with around 3% THD? In a disaster situation to save gas on a traditional generator I would like to use a battery generator to power my house. I would rationally and use the battery generator and turn on whats needed on my panel and use the gas generator for charging, so I can have more days to survive with power. In Texas Harvey was the worst! At my property as far as I could see I was surrounded by water, and no power for weeks. That experience has made me prep now, so I have 3 gas generators and one Anker Solix F2000. I would love this Ecoflow someday.

I have been a EcoFlow user since Gen 1, good products individually but as an ecosystem they are not good about backward compatibility across generations. With the costs of their products not everyone can afford to buy everything at once but if they don’t they will have trouble completing or replacing things once the generation changes over. That should be a * next to every EcoFlow product being reviewed until they stop having their proprietary batteries have planned obsolescence. If you want these things put in peoples houses you need to have it so they can be built overtime with pluck and chuck capability across generations in terms of stacking and their batteries under their A/Cs. Great products aside from that but as an eco-system they are thinking like a tech company not a household infrastructure maker.

Thanks for opening the port with the Anderson Powerpoles in it. Who the heck does the powerpoles sideways like that?!? I'd need to build a converter cable to switch from those sideways powerpoles to normal ones. lol.

    • @AskIveSolar

Is this an inside joke possibly because you can switch around Anderson connectors as you need.

    • @kd2eat
      @kd2eat 11 дней назад

@@AskIveSolar Not joking. I've never seen Anderson connectors in that orientation before. Google "Anderson Powerpole Images" and see what I mean. If you can easily disassemble that connector on the Ecoflow and orient it like "normal", that would definitely be a plus.

My 1 problem is its peak watt output is only 8k watts. 3/4hp 240v pump peaks at 8,700 watts. 2 delta pro 1st gen's can handle 14.4kw on the 240v hub.
