Made this a couple nights ago. Less that 1/4 teaspoon of chilli flakes (the shaker was being annoying) and it gives a good kick. This was amazing, easy sauce i can make the night before so someone else can put dinner together the next night.
I made this Amazing Bourbon Chicken for dinner tonight and before my family was even done eating it they were begging me to make it again! This recipe is definitely a keeper and will be on regular rotation in my meal planning!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't have _'corn starch pouring control!'_ After far too many times, I've switched to using a serving spoon to dig it out. Breaks my heart watching you cook with Bulleit Bourbon though. I save the good stuff for drinking and cook with Old Crow.

OMG l just made this for my partner and l. It was Amazing. We loved it and will have it again. Made a change as we cant buy red pepper flake in supermarket l used red chilli but it made a nice backround heat.

I use healthy alternatives to all of yur recipes ( for instance I used almond flour & a dash of coconut flour and whole grain pastry flour for my fluffy protein pancakes,It was amazing ! Due to yur unbelievable knowledge my local healthy meal prep service has been successful , Ty! ( As high as 82 meals in a week)

It was sooo good! The chicken was tender and full the sauce makes it full of wonderful flavor. One of my allergies is corn (all forms) so I replaced it with potato starch, worked great. Thank you for another wonderful meal that we both enjoyed!
Made this tonight with Irish Whiskey (my bourbon was too good/expensive) to cook with...fantastic flavor. I didn't have scallions and subbed fresh basil. Thank you John!
Looks delicious. One common trick though... You could put the corn starch in a bag and in goes the chicken and shake shake shake. Saves yourself from all the mess.

Just made the dish for the family. Well put it over a bed of Spanish Rice (like the Cajun Cafe) and it was delicious! I'm going to have to dial back on the chili flakes. I love the heat but my wife doesn't handle hot-spicy as well. Very east to make and full of flavor.
Omg. Thanks for this! My local chinese place used to make this (my favorite besides crispy duck) and now they make it horrible and so I stopped ordering. Now I can make myself. Yaay! Now I wish I had the recipe for crispy duck…with the crispy very crunchy fried breading stuck on the one side of the pieces.

Bourbon chicken doesn’t contain bourbon. The recipe was invented in Bourbon St. Louisiana, hence the name.
