At the annual Wimbledon Tennis Championships held every year, there are around 250 ball boys and ball girls who retrieve the tennis balls at the end of each rally. But here is a tennis ball that retrieves itself! And also a giant tennis ball.
Tim reckons he has about 150 toys that are based around a ball, although these toys do a lot more than just bounce on the ground... although some do bounce in unexpected ways.
A plush ball and one that looks to be made of resilient rubber. Which will bounce higher? The result is unexpected. Of course it is - that is why these toys are in Tim's collection!
The 8-Ball - which is larger than life - actually tells your fortune.
A ball that uses fluid motion to give it an unusual motion when you roll it across the table.
From 1991, a marble that Tim bought in California. It has a design on it of a map of the world. A bit like a tiny globe. 30 years later, Tim bought another 'map marble' from the same person. The new version is bigger, but also the quality of the graphics has improved too.
A ball that acts like a yo-yo, but the mechanism is based on an internal spring, so it is easier to operate than a regular yo-yo.
Then 'Catch Ball' - a plastic ball on elastic, that you can make hop from one hand to the other.
Finally, something that looks a bit like a beach ball, in a string bag with handles. It is an improved version of the old 'button and thread' toy. Give the ball a little spin to start it going, and then you just pull the two handles and release them at just the right moment, and the beach ball spins faster and faster. With a gentle 'swoosh' as it spins, this toy is very soothing!
I'm seriously surprised that Tim isn't the curator of some type of museum, he's definitely qualified for such a job.
His channel is kind of a digital museum if you think about it.
He’s a curator of his own collection, i guess
He pretty much curates the Grand Illusions toy store and website.
Anyway just wanted to add that I think this show is amazing. Thank you for such great entertainment.
Glad you enjoy it!
I learn about more toys each and everyday with this channel
The marble globes were a delight to see, as much for the improvement of the maker over 30 years as anything else. Best of luck to him.
I always wanted to see what's inside a magic 8 ball but somehow I've never looked it up. Thanks for the pleasant surprise!
I subscribed to him years ago when he had about 10k subscribers. It's good to see him having come this far.
That walking tennis ball is very goofy!😄
The 8ball is very popular in America... especially if you lived in Miami in the 80's. Lol. I love this channel. If I want to relax and fall asleep for a nap.. this is my go to.
Gonna be a good day when we get a new episode of Tim
That 8 ball wanted Tim to have a good time.🥳
The zeon ball was actually surprising and I've never seen anything like it :)
I didn't know that making the best glove marble was anyone's calling in life, but here we are.
Those Earth marbles are so beautiful
I don't know why, but Tim being fascinated by a Magic 8 Ball is the purest thing.
Good day to you
Another Tim video. My day is complete.
I've liked your videos for quite a while and just recently bought a lot of items from your website as gifts. Keep up the good work!
Nice Tim!
I love the videos, and the toy collections!
Thank you Tim.
Well there is a sort of holiday next week🤣
The rolling ball with the spider on it is the best. ;D I had such ball as a child but with an eyeball on the inside.
The magic 8 ball was originally marketed as a desk piece, a functional paper weight. It didn't sell very much, so they changed their demographics to children and sold many, I had one about 20 years ago
"It is decidedly so" sounds like the Queen. May she have peace.
Tim really knew how to host a ball
The ball that doesn't bounce at all is so cool :o
Was anyone else shocked that there isn’t a pyramid in an 8-ball?! 🤯
This man is cool
Great show as always 🔥🔥🔥
I can't believe there's been a D20 inside the Magic 8 Ball all this time.
So good, sir 👌
Tim is just a the owner of 999999 toy shops if you think about it
You guys should do a video about Royal themed items Tim has, in honour of Her Majesty the Queen. Rest in Peace, Your Majesty.
2:55 "Will Andy pick me?"
What a load of balls!
Thanks for another great video!
God Save the Queen❤
Ran out of totems
It's mid-september... I think Tim and I have slightly different definitions of "high summer"
6:19
"strong on a spring"
MEOW
0:23 What was that growl Tim? XD
Lovely!
Anyone knows the name of the ball at minute 4:00? I’m not interested in that specific one, but where can I buy something similar?
This guy takes the depression away
Someone send Tim some Bakugan
Bring physical toy train
Just out of curiosity, are these videos scripted or does Tim adlib the videos? I'm just wondering if there were ever any bloopers that got cut
No script. Tim always adlibs. If Tim is not happy, or if we feel something isn't quite right, then we do another take. Many of the videos feature a number of toys, and are shot in a single take; so more often than not, a retake is because one of the toy demos didn't work quite as well as it could have. Tim is very patient, and is happy to do as many takes as it takes!
@@grandillusions All one take is pretty impressive. Tim is a legend
Hellllooooooooo
First comment. Finally
