F150 Won't Start & No Lights on Dash | EASY FIX

- Seems like a dead battery, but it's just a loose connector.
This 2012 Ford F150 just shut down and won't start due to a loose connection. The customer complained that the truck shut of while driving and did not start again. It was like a dead battery. All the lights in the dash where off as well. After a few hours though it started again like nothing ever was wrong. That happened over and over until it wouldn't start at all anymore and he had it towed into the shop.
Turns out, for this no start issue on this Ford, there is was just a loose connector in the fuse panel on the passenger side. Watch the Video from beginning to end to see what connector it was on this Ford F-150.

Thanks for this vid. My daughter is learning to drive in my f150. My wife tends to use that panel as an invisible brake causing that harness to come loose. After a few hours of looking at harnesses and fuses I came across your video and bingo 👍 wish I knew a good local mechanic like you

Thank you for the video! I just pulled out the blower motor for the ac and accidentally unplugged the exact thing you showed on the passenger side. Wouldn't crant or anything after putting everything back in. Found this video and found my error!

Done with Ford. Had a good dozen Fords over the years. No more. I don't know a single person who has 1/4 the problems I do regularly. Turns out, that's not normal. Turns out break downs aren't nearly as common as my 30+ decades of Fords has left me to believe. Rant complete.

2013 Ford F-150 EcoBoost with 225k miles on the odometer isn't starting. The parking light on dash in not illuminated when turning the key onto the on position. No gear lights are illuminated at all. Cabin has power and all assesories appear to be working. I’m thinking the problem is the neutral safety switch underneath the truck that’s attached onto the transmission. Or the park brake switch on center shifter. The dash lights come on, but there's no cranking, just a click when attempting to start. Battery is showing a full charge. The starter is functional as it spins when power is applied directly but engine not turning over. All fuses and relays have been checked. The low oil pressure sensor was replaced a month ago without subsequent issues. There's also a clicking sound from the engine area when the truck is off and the hood is up. Coming from one of the vct solenoids. When the pcm relay is removed the sound disappears. It’s like a clicking sound. Not sure if this is the issue or not. What could be the problem? Starting systems fault, engine overheat and low oil pressure lights on dash.
That is something I would most likely have to look at myself. I would recommend taking it to a shop. Unless someone else who knows more then me can help you out.

This happened to me about a year ago, tightened it back and it was good for about 6 months, slowly would have this issue come back and now after unplugging and plugging multiple times , it won’t start or have lights pop up…. Any suggestions?
Not really. Maybe another lose connection somewhere or a burnt fuse?
@@AutoTechWorld_DIY no clue, we checked all connections and fuses… it would randomly turn out after many tried but no dash lights or functions would work… stuck in a pickle :/

Transmission lead harness grounds?
I had a neutral safety switch go bad on me that exhibited same problem. I noticed that my letter "P" on the dash wasn't showing red indicating what gear I was in. All the other gears it would show a color. Turned out the switch was faulty. Replaced the $20 switch and now it indicates it's in park by the red "P" and it starts, 2012 5.0 F150 FLOW THROUGH CONSOLE/SHIFTER
I have the same problem. I am going to look for loose connectors.
