- The DDJ-RZX is designed to make the most of the new rekordbox™ video Plus Pack for rekordbox dj, and builds on our heritage of making video DJ equipment like the DVJ-1000 and SVM-1000. The DDJ-RZX is a 4-channel professional controller for mobile DJs and anyone who wants to bring videos into their performances.
The DDJ-RZX features three touch screens for viewing track information and applied pad effects. Video previewing and monitoring is sharp on the 7-inch screens and they give access to all the key features in both rekordbox dj and the new rekordbox video Plus Pack. Two XLR combo input jacks give distortion-free Mic output and the 3-band Mic EQ and Mic FX let you tune each voice. Plus, the extensive FX unit includes Combo FX, Sampler Repeat and Release FX, as well as the studio-quality Sound Colour FX from the DJM-900NXS2 mixer. It inherits traits from the CDJ-2000NXS2 multiplayer and DJM mixer series including large jog wheels and high-quality sound.
The rekordbox™ video Plus Pack for rekordbox dj lets you manage video and image files in rekordbox, then play and mix them live on any of the controllers in our DDJ range as if they were audio tracks. Use the crossfader to mix two video sources with a choice of 20 in-built FX thanks to Transition FX. Touch FX lets you add FX and adjust parameters by tracing on the x and y axes on the display.
Our video processing algorithm gives dependable video performance even when using high definition video files. You can add text and create slideshows on the fly, and Camera FX lets you show the live feed from a digital camera connected to your computer.
The DDJ-RZX is available from July, and rekordbox video can be downloaded from 1st July directly from rekordbox.com

Bro, places give you usually a minimum of 7 - 14 days to return your purchase. If you think you would really want to take it back and get this new one consider that- before your time to return it runs out.

How clever for pioneer not to include the stand alone "play from usb" feature. This could have been the best flagship controller bar none to date. Marketing remains too clever not to put all features in one product.

I think he means that it needs to be standalone as a whole product and not just a standalone mixer with cdj support.

Been a dj since 1984 lol, this is the coolest thing I have seen so far. I wanted something like this so bad back then but technology wasn't there of course.

Mtv was so popular, I had always thought it would be cool if you could mix video to video so customers could dance and watch the video of the singer singing the song, of course that's not exactly how it would work here, for instance, it's probably not possible to "beat mix" a video into another video, but it's the next best thing. The audience has the visual entertainment along with the sound so that's a huge plus. You still don't see a whole lot of video monitors and screens in clubs today. It sure would add a lot. I have a home theatre. You can now buy a projector for about $1200. One of the top selling ones is made by Espon and Best buy carries it. The picture can cover about 360 feet on a wall, if you wanted it to be that big, but regardless, even on a 10 foot wall or a screen in a club, it would be fantastic to see video effects and such playing along with the music. I have that projector on a 13 foot wall and relatives and friends come in and freak out that the picture quality is so good. Buying a t.v. to that equivalent of size would cost several thousands. They are making 4k projectors now, and using laser lighting at that, instead of bulbs, so the expensive bulb doesn't have to be changed out.

I must say I'm impressed by Pioneer's response. They just released RBDJ 5 beta and let me tell you it's greatly improved. The amount of resources it uses and almost 1/4th than before. That's a big deal.

Every unfortunate DJ I know who purchased this or the DDJ RX quickly regretted it. At least with an SX2 you can use either serato or rekordbox. Dennon now makes the MCX 8000 which is also a STANDALONE controller but its better built and alot less money, not to mention works with multiple software programs. But the main reason I recommend Dennon is the fact that they will provide excellent customer service where pioneer will not. I sent my DDJ SX2 into the headquarters for warranty repairs on the crossfader and one upfader. Well a month later they returned the unit badly damaged and they had only UPDATED THE FIRMWARE! I begged them for a week to not force me to send it back in for another month but they refused to do anything to help me and now a month later I've still heard nothing. New DJs beware! Dont get fooled into thinking that just because pioneer once was industry standard that its worth paying these kinds of astronomical prices for just decent equipment and NON EXISTENT customer service.
Wow! I am sorry to hear that! That experience from a client is absolutely unacceptable. I'm sure a pioneer moderator or rep. Seeing these comments will pass this on to someone who can do something about this. For the amount of $$$ that clients pay for these products regardless of which model- there needs to be a consistent, and pleasant experience provided to each client when it comes to customer service. If they haven't offered, if I were you I'd ask to speak to a manager or a director of customer service to address this- especially if they did nothing to your device and you revived it back DAMAGAED!? No way.... Whoever is in charge of QoS at this warranty warehouse you sent this too needs to be notified immediately. So sorry about this experience. This should never be the case with the Industry Leader- they make good products and should have the best service to back them up and support them as well.

+Shaquille Fabri no what you are referring to is a cdj, so you need to buy one of them if you want to use usb ports. This is a (laptop) controller
I've been waiting for DDJ with screen, but man, this is a behemoth of a controller! It's huuuge and I can only imagine how big and heavy a case for it will be! I think I'll wait for gen2 or for DDJ RXX version which should be smaller.
Another point is CPU requirements... I remember I had NI Traktor S8 (hapilly sold) which had two tiny screens and it choked on any i5 machine... here we have 3 screens of 7 inch which are touch enabled and all this is connected to the computer via USB... I'm wondering how they've solved USB protocol limitations (if have at all).

Pioneer recommends a quad-core i7 with 16GB of RAM, so yeah you Need a very powerful Laptop... :/

I typically use 3 other dedicated hardware gear to do what the DDJ-RXZ does. I can`t believe how integrated it is and easy it looks to do live mashups with 1 complete device!

this caught my eye, but im still thinking of the Denon MCX8000. Because the Controller can be Standalone or run on Serato. yea the XDJ - RX is Standalone but it can only run RekordBox, i dont have a problem with that, but this one looked so promising. If you want Standalone you only have 2 options at the moment. the Denon MCX8000 or the XDJ - RX. this controller here is defiantly designed for mobile DJ's, all the features are great but im with alot of people here...it just cant beat Standalone support. Good job tho Pioneer.

I still have my DDJ-T1 that needs a laptop and Pioneer comes out with a controler with USB and not a standalone unit with these some great features! Unbelievable. The RX is nice but waiting for 2 screens that's a standalone. I guess Pioneer still wants to sell there CDJs. That's why this controller doesn't have it all. I will still wait. This thing won't sell like they think.

The price on this must be insane, but if its not, it would definitely change everything. 1 person could be a multimedia artists without tons of gear.

We're going to see a rift in the controller world as soon as Pioneer starts pushing standalone into the RZX2 and the smaller units, these super controllers are starting to get out of hand for Serato and Traktor :S
UPDATE: The RZX just arrived. I set it up and gave it a run through. I mixed an identical sets I did on a competitors controller and I found it easier to perform the EDM tracks on this console than the competitors controller. I have to admit that I have had Pioneer gear in the past (actually had their first pair of top loaders from back in the day). So, the layout was familiar. I didn't pick up the manual or read any instructions so I guess you could say it's an very intuitive layout. BUT, there are a lot of buttons and knobs so minimalists beware. The jog wheels have a "Professional" weight to them and I like them a lot better than the DDJ-SZ jog wheels or any other jog wheel for that matter. Let's make one thing clear. It's NOT a controller, it's a console. A controller is something that looks cheap, you can either stick in your laptop bag or anything smaller than the DDJ-SZ or Numark NS7 III (which to me are right on the edge of being a console). It's BIG!! Someone said the screens seemed "cheap". I don't agree. The console has a "I better be getting paid a lot of money for this gig" look to it. I haven't been able to get the screens to show music data yet, maybe because I'm using a demo copy of RekordBox DJ. As soon as I get the screens up I'll give my feedback on those too. If you're a full time Hip HOP/Old School DJ, the Numark NS7 scratches better (for obvious reasons) and the scratches sound more convincing.

I'm only mentioning this because I feel it's important you know that it's not like I'm comparing this to a Gemeni or something.
One thing I would like to see implemented if it's not already able to be done is for Rekord Box to be used with their existing mixers (Even the Serato ones). The reason why is most of the clubs in Vegas have Pioneer Mixers with Serato Boxes, even though the mixer has a soundcard in it. If there was a way to send access the internal sound card it may allow RekordBox DJs to use the house gear without having to switch over to Serato for that evening.
I would like to know where the sound card quality falls in comparison to top audio interfaces like apogee, Antelope or Universal Audio. It'd be nice to use the sound card for music production if it's accurate enough.

I should mention the issue with the screens has been resolved. The firewall on my 3rd party software was blocking Rekordbox from doing what it needs to do to operate at 100%. After fixing that issues the screens light up with the information.

Hey guys, it's almost 2020 and I was looking to hear if the rekordbox video feature is now prime time ready.
I've seen many Virtual DJ VJays but no Rekordbox.
I am also looking to understand 1 very common use case that appears to be overlooked by Pioneer. What if you want to mix a video with no video song. What you can do so the screen can being populated with some animation or pre set video?

yes yes exactly when i heard about the price thinking it was an upgrade on the two channel XDJ-RZ i almost hit the roof ,then i saw the prom video and noticed how they where going on about the video mxing then i understood why the price was so high,i was planing on getting the XDJ-RZ for christmas i still will unless pioneer pulls out another suprise lol
Come on, how much difference does it really make to have an stand alone
machine or not... A computer is needed for organizing the music anyway,
and for real, if you are already taking such a beast with you, the
weight of a Mac almost doesn't count. That one thing that bothers with me with Software is crashes, but Rekordbox has till now not once let me down. And there is after all always a safe with another CDJ. Of course if Pioneer now brings out a totally stand alone machine, all the CDJs and DJMs including XDJs can forget about being sold out.

Since this is a laptop controller, I guess they just want the users to utilize the laptop keyboard... Which is weird because just about everything else is controllable on the unit.... I'm wondering if it does have that capability and they just skimmed over it?
