Joe you are by a country mile my favourite youtuber, these laidback videos where you roam a city, give us tips and most importantly show the photos you take as you go are an absolute hit, none of that over-the-top speaking to the camera stuff. Perfection, keep it up!
Those photos you took of Elly between 10:39 - 12:07 are soo good! I was literally thumbs upping them in real life in front of my screen as each of those shots came up
Hey there Joe! Thanks for this lovely video. I miss London and surprisingly this vlog was able to fill that void a little. I actually chanced upon your channel and I'm loving what I'm seeing. Will be checking out more of it in time but for now, just wanna say thanks! I'm starting out in basic photography using my humble phone camera but yes, at times it does feel hard to get inspired especially if you don't have an explicit story to tell. Thanks for your tip of just 'take your camera out' and remove that hurdle. Yup, who knows that shot might be of use or inspiring when you look at it later down the road. Peace, from Singapore!
I absolutely agree with your "camera in hand" suggestion. Even carrying my camera on a Capture Clip attached to my sling bag is enough friction to make me avoid taking a shot. So even though the weather is becoming colder as we now enter autumn, I still try to keep my camera in hand at all times. Practicing creative techniques in a known-to-the-point-of-boredom location will pay huge dividends when travel becomes available again.
I think it can just be fascinating to document how much changes over the years. I think back to 20-30 years ago when I was still a kid and all the shops, buildings, and entire blocks that have disappeared or been replaced.
Yeah, I feel that too. I still have my photos from my first trip to London in 1999 and the skyline is wildly different now. Excited to see how it will evolve over the next 20 years!
Loved this video Joe. Seeing some of the old places I used to work in. I highly recommend adding to your list “walk and explore” London is jam packed with nooks and crannies just like Hanway Place that are only found doing just that. It can spark inspiration. I’m now Sydney and have been here for 10 years. I find I have the same trouble finding inspiration for photography, The Opera House, The Bridge it’s all a bit same same. Sadly Sydney does not have the history and intricacies of London, although it is a beautiful city. Thanks for the video.
The photos are amazing 💐 beautiful colors, loved the lights, the streets.. The shops.. The buildings.. The rain..Ellie with her umbrella.. 🚥 Timeless classic beauty, inspiring simplicity 👍💐 thank you JOE!!!!
So thankful for this video! I Lived in Lodon for nearly 5 years and I really miss it. There's just something about this time of the year that makes me miss it even more! Such good vibes, keep it up!
I FEEL this on a spiritual level. Great tips there though, I also love seeing how we all overlap sometimes in our process of breaking through creative ruts
Loved this video. You wandered the streets i loved to wander before i became less mobile. Your visual aesthetic certainly made this so very poignant. Thank you.
Another brilliant video! I love the atmosphere and the dialogue about trying to capture inspired at this odd time. Thank you for your great work and inspiring us.❤️
Great video and some great tips - got me a bit inspired as well. Being from California, I was a little shocked to see a street I knew in London - Hanway Place - been there several times. Thanks for the inspiration.
The shot that you got 12:05 is amazing! thanks for the video Joe! Are you planning on making a video about the iphone 12 pro max cameras and video like you did with the 11 pro in japan? I loved those videos :D
Great photo's Joe, I remember going into the little Spainish bar over 30 years ago when I worked nights at Royal Mail in Rathbone Place. With social distancing now I doubt if you would be able to squeeze as many people in the bar as they did then.
New gear does put a different perspective. I've been taking great photos with my Canon R6 and it has motivated me to take better photos. Great video as always.
xe4 said to be coming out next year. Maybe some weather sealing please? Next on my list would be x100v like tilt screen, no flip-out. The bigger battery would be nice, but I think the small form of xe line will prohibit it...
I would actually pay you money to make videos. I am not even joking... like holy shit they are so entertaining to watch anytime and anywhere. Keep up the good videos Joe
love this hobby. There is a lot of opportunity after a rain, yes hahaha it seems its hard to find some nice spots to shoot when you're on your own place, time to let your brain cultivate creativity. ❤
Really nice photos, Joe, and thanks for inspiration. And, as you said, easier to bring back home photos with camera in hand instead of in backpack. Seems you had a good dinner, here all restaurants are closed for the month because of increasing amount of covid-19! 🙁
In case you're interested there is a whole growing photography / editing community on twitch. They have a team #photography and a community discord channel.
By the look of it, I may have missed you by just a few minutes in Chinatown and Soho when I was filming my video in the rain myself. Interesting how we look at very different subjects in the same environments :) Maybe next time I'll spot you! :)
@@joeallam for me the classic chrome and then astia are great places to start my editing process. Classic Neg... too many decisions made for me, unless that is the look I wanted.
The image of Elle against the building at 12:05, was really good.
Love those umbrella shots at 11:00 ☂️

Great video. I always enjoy your videos as they are calming and relaxed. The flow very well. Thanks for putting out great content!
Haha 9:53 how random. I stumbled upon that alleyway too while I was shooting for The Edition.
The tone is really good
Your videos are so inspiring, especially this one. I absolutely love dark and moody street scenes especially in the rain.👌👌👌
8:24 Ah, Soho Square - I used to work right behind your head, 45 years ago!

How do you like the Canon r5 compared to your older Panasonic gh5?
The shot that you got 12:05 is amazing!

Always enjoy your videos, Joe. The photos here are up to their usual high standard. Pandemic or not, your photos are all very interesting.
Yep rain is the best for sure, miss London, really enjoyed guys, love China Town, love the rain, and yep enjoyed this!!
I think I’ve had my highest success with rainy days. Hoping to do more throughout winter as it gets darker!
Great video, Joe! Very inspiring!
Needed this bit of inspiration to go pick my camera back up!
Very relatable!
Thanks for your videos! How often do you take the 50-140 with you? Have you ever had any issues with the weather sealing on your lenses or X-H1?

You got really nice photos....
Hanway Place home of Hakkasan and Charlotte Street is London’s oldest restaurant high street...
Elli with the umbrella and the Bricklayers Arms, evocative pictures

The rains set in tomorrow (Oct 23) in Portland and the wet photo season begins! 😀
You're right.....Ellie's new hairstyle is great!
Incredible video and incredible message!
Always bringing us top-notch content ❤️
Always excited to see your vlogs pop up on my stream. ♥️ I miss your Joe Allam clap 👏
Some great advice there pal 👍 thanks

A monochrome video of moody rainy London would be great
Excellent timing because as you know in London its..... raining!

joe can try vlog with X-S10 and tell us the result compared to other cam. Great video as always.

A 365 days one pic per day challenge is such a good practise. There is no quality without quantity! Great vid Joe.
”Keep the camera in your hand” 👍
I can just tell Classic Negative would look great in those conditions :P
Haha! It’ll take a lot to get me off classic chrome 😏

Even now can't travel, still really love your video. This inspired me to a Instagram Account call @Nomad.Taipei all shot with X-T20 and 35MM F1.4
Isn't it hard not to shoot photos with the R5? I mean I know you're a fuji shooter but still. :D
lot of time in Verdansk 🤣
