What I love about your videos, @Sean Tucker, is how they aren't just about the photography. They are about photography as a medium through which to live a more examined, fulfilled life. Thanks for the stories you tell and the way you tell them.
What a beautiful short film. Sean, the way you cut Josh’s interview sections created a continuous conversation that let his personality shine through. Starting with that gave us a sense of how such a person would go about taking the kind of photos that Josh was talking about in the previous segment. Being successful in making that kind of linkage is a lot harder to accomplish than it appears. Well done. I look forward to your next one.
This must be one of the most unpretentious, down to earth, friendly Leica street photographers around. So much so that it feels like a little crime to try and tuck him away in that drawer, or any drawer, except that of being a devoted photographer and a heart-warming human being. Thanks for introducing us to his touchingly beautiful work, Sean.
It was so nice to see he faced and conquered the "social media dilemma". As he said, It's just a hobby after all, and if you loved the moment and some of the pictures, then it was time we'll spent.
thank you for chatting with josh about this topic! there's so much goodness in this conversation, and how he approaches his work. it's wonderfully inspiring for me!
It goes without saying that this video is superbly shot and edited. What I'd like to comment on though is how natural Josh comes across. Even more so than in his own videos, which is of great credit to Sean's setup and execution. Josh seems like a very likable guy and his story in street photography is fresh, fun, and honest. Thanks to you both!
Thanks for sharing Josh with us 👍 I think anyone who aspires to good street photography can also really appreciate what Josh is attempting, enjoying and achieving 😁 and what a nice bloke as well, his enthusiasm is infectious!!
I agree sir! I love looking at photos and I find myself not as ’touched’ by the more processed mixed media photos that are prevalent these days. Thank you for this video
Sean, thank you for spotlighting such beautiful, creative minds. Josh's work speaks for itself, but having a skilled interviewer and a look behind his lens adds so much dimension to the images we look at. I should confess that despite hating Instagram of late (not the content but the effect it has on me), these interview videos that you put out have helped me curate a feed that is more warm, heartfelt, technically superb and above all, thoughtful. I'm grateful for all of it. Kudos to you both and the best of luck with both of your book sales.
These short films are exemplary, Sean. Sharing your platform with these other creators is generous, to say the least, and a welcome example of a collaborative spirit that more artists should embrace for the good of the community. As an aside, I'm looking forward to August 10th and the arrival of your book. Very excited to read it. All the best.
Great video. Was already following him on Instagram and really liked his pictures, hearing about his approach and intention makes me actually appreciate them even more. There is none of that pretentiousness I see in many other modern street photographers. Just a genuine interest in people and life.
Have been photographing stand up comedy for 10 years, my goal I am getting warm to is to tell the most compelling story in a single Frame that it's unmistakable! Think channel gets my soul! Thanks Sean!
Great work Sean. I like how you highlight other artists and capture their vision. Your videos have greatly helped me in the process and enjoyment of my photography.
I've watched so many videos on your channel and I'm amazed with each video I watched... Thank you so much... I believe I've learned a lot and I have space for more.... Thank you I don't know if a simple Thank you it's enough.. but ,your videos are so inspiring, so meaningful....Thank you Sir...and please don't ever stop... Thank you
I get so disheartened when everyone insists that photos have to tell a story. So, it made me happy to hear you say at the start that some photos can just be aesthetically pleasing. I understand the value of telling stories but it’s not always easy and runs the risk of giving the impression that if photos don’t tell a story then they’re bad photos. Especially at the beginning of someone’s photography journey, just concentrating on composition and lighting is enough without having to worry about telling a story. Great video, as always
His honest outlook on how to act and interact is pretty universal. Just breathe deep and try to get out there. You **can** do it. You really can and you know it. Unfortunately (or maybe not) no one is usually going to drag us to where we want to be. His frank and relaxed attitude is very inspiring. I also love the idea of that buss photo as a painting and if anyone out there loves to do backflips? Backflip off your dreams baby. I feel like now is a great time for people to start trying human photography. Coming out of last year and seeing people come back to life and being in need of that feeling is all something that’s worth going out there and capturing. Even if you don’t come away with the perfect shots it will probably put a little fuel in your soul. Ps. People should actually go look at his work. Beautiful, whimsical and ingenious stuff.
Very inspiring. I like how grounded he is and his perspective on photography is very open-minded, just liking what he likes and acknowledging that there are other different things also. Very nice video. Easily one of my favorite features on your channel. More power, Sean! :)
Great video, I appreciate the insights from Josh and can relate with his earlier thoughts on the expectations from going on a walk with the camera. Will definitely rewatch and reflect whether I get more relaxed about my expectations and see what I gain from just doing it
This was so so interesting, as always Sean, you speak and the words flow like a river, always wonderful to hear and learn. And Josh was so so interesting amazing man for sure.
Sorry Sean for once I will write in french. Well done for this great episode (as always). 📷
A very interesting and worthwhile video. Thanks. One question for both Josh and yourself: How often do you actually print your photographs? When you show someone your best work, do you show them a print or a computer screen? Looks like things are going well in York, Sean. It's a great city. I can vouch for Durham and Newcastle, too. Good luck.
Yet another awesome exposé, with the tagline, "So I'm gonna shut up now, and let you hear from my friend....." I think I might start following Josh on Instagram. The best interview style, none. Just let them talk. 🙂
It’s always a treat to watch a new video from you! Your friend seems very nice and I enjoyed his story. Hoping all is well with you and that your new life and surroundings are healing for you. Sean
Your interview have specific characteristics of that photographer's style but also have that particular look and style in that person's background. How do you come with that? Such as letting them choose you or you specifically set the background or you work upon before how it should work before it happens.

Dear Roger I can absolutely agree with your comment 👍🏻🙌🏻

@@carminecastelli6827 thank you, Carmine, I appreciate that you took the time to read what I wrote.

Refreshing how a passionate photographer can articulate his love so light-heartedly. More, please.

Indeed !!!!!

Awesome episode Sean! Always good hearing from Josh too
10:30 Reminds me of the Vogon Constructor Fleet arrival from the HHGTTG
I agree sir! I love looking at photos and I find myself not as ’touched’ by the more processed mixed media photos that are prevalent these days. Thank you for this video

"I just want to take a picture that will stop people from scrolling on Instagram?" That goal cannot be described as lofty.
Well, that was a very enjoyable way to spend 20 minutes of my life! Hoping that York is going well for you.
