The original was amazing but I believe that when an artist covers a song he/she should not be placed in competition with the original composer. Most of us would agree that Tarja's tribute to Alice does the song justice in terms of performance, even though she does it in her own voice and her own sound. It still has the vibe of her solo work and of her work with Nightwish and it truly is her singing it. Tarja is Tarja, Alice Cooper is Alice Cooper. Even though its Alice's song, no one performing/covering it will sound like Alice Cooper just because they are playing an Alice Cooper song. There is no need for harsh criticism on her rendition being worse than the original because Alice Cooper is a god. Judge it in isolation from the original.
How could anyone hate this? One of the best songs ever performed by the best voice ever, the most lovely and best looking woman in the world.... I want to marry her!

Tarja could sing the phone book and still make it sound angelic.I still want to cry every time I think about the breakup with Nightwish-They will always secretly regret how bad they did her.
oh they know, Tuomas has said that they handled Tarja situation very badly and will never perform "bye bye beautiful" live again, but they have made peace now :) I still think that Tarja is one of the most mazing voices in heavy metal , Nightwish is good with Floor but forme nobody can beat Tarjas beauty and her unique voice and amazing classical style of singing and as much as I have seen her interviews she seems to be like a very sweet lady

This is actually a great cover. I did not realize it was a cover until I read the description. I am a bit deprived when it comes to music. While Alice Cooper does a great job too with the original, Tarja does a great female cover. So it works. :D

I'm also a big fan of early Nightwish and I love Tarja's voice but I know that for her to sing this like Alice did would not work. I really like the way she took the opposite point of view and sang it like a hopeless victim. It's still in the spirit of the original but she made it her own which is exactly what a cover should be.

And then there's pictures of Alice and Tarja, and Tarja in the same concert with Alice, but I'm not sure any more did they sing Poison together there.

This song needs the raw energy that Anette had in Nightwish or Alice had in the original. Clean music is great, but it is too clean. It's like Avril's cover of Joan Jett's Bad Reputation. It was lackluster because it was just too clean, had none of the roughness and bite to it that made you love the original.
I love Tarja, but this is just bad. The verse beat, and guitar sound like something that Britney Spears used. This song just doesn't fit her voice. It's nice that she tried and I have respect because of that, but she should stick to what she does.
