    We took the car out for a real drive at 27psi. The car is really starting to struggle to put the power down as well really sketchy under hard acceleration. Most importantly we test the 100-200 and go faster again. What a weapon.

    You guys really need an lsd. And maybe even a rear end bushing overhaul. Whiteline bushings has everything you would need and for a few hundred bucks it’s an awesome upgrade for rear end stability.

    The Apex ARC-8 wheels are great. Stock 602 wheels (sport model E90) are 26 lbs front (18x8), 28 lbs rear (18x8.5). ARC-8 in 17x9 are 16.5 lbs a piece. I specifically went with the 17 inch diameter because they were lighter. I wouldn't define them as "budget", but they aren't BBS either. I think they are the best value for a light weight wheel.

    Hi guys, great channel. I have no idea why you don't have more subs!! I am in the UK and have an f10 M5 & 2009 335i. I run a jb4 in the M5 and an MHD tune on the 335i. May I ask a question? I have a big FMIC on the 335i, new coils and colder plugs gapped to 0.22. The UK has annual inspections which looks at the DP's, so would like to keep them stock. I currently run MHD stage 1+, do you think it would be safe to try stage 2+ (18PSI) with stock DP's... I will not be tracking it or beating on it simple the occasional blast!! Great job on the 17T's btw, your 60-120 times seems similar to my f10 M5 (on paper). I have just ordered a draggy to test 😉 all the best. Mike

      I’d give mhd stage 2+ a try if I was in your situation. Not using it on a circuit or for long periods on the loud pedal should help limit heat a little. The stage 2+ will likely pump timing advance and create a lot or more heat and stress in the turbos. So you need to do it with caution, check the logs thoroughly and just have in the back of your mind it will be stressing the turbos. Is there anyway you can run some downstream cats and still pass inspection?

    I'm only 5 mins in, but have you considered implementing boost by gear? Would help with the spinning and bouncing off limiter in lower gears.

      It's running boost by gear in this video. 10psi in 1st and 18psi in second. 3rd gear is full boost but its then limited through the rev range, so it wont target 27psi until after 5000rpm.

      @@ZeroTo60Tube you need a new rear end. It's the only way you're gonna be able to put down that kind of power. An open diff is not only comically bad at putting power down, it;s also really dangerous in a performance car.

      @@ZeroTo60Tube The M3 diff can be retrofitted into the 335i, but I think you need to get a different axle as well.

    Don't start in 2nd. The car has an inbuilt torque limiter which does not make you use full torque until 3rd. Start in 3rd and let it ride the wave. Also, shift at 6300-6500, but not it 4th ;)

    I think the LSD is going to transform your launches and overall driving feel. Did you get an M Factory? Loving watching this car turn into a beast. I’m on stage 2+ FBO with inlets, but it’s seriously making me look through eBay, and ESC Tuning and make a list :-)

    N54 POWAAAh! :D Nice 100-200, I think it's possible to be quicker with some tweaking and a full send it 30psi tune, not sure wat timing you run but 12-13° must be possible... Although don't forget you're now coming really close to the N54 danger zone of blowing it up with hybrid twins torque... Fingers crossed!

      It’s only running 10.5 at the moment. Will wind it up. It’s just a worry not really knowing how good my rod bearing are.

      Thanks, appreciate you checking the vids out and commenting. It's gotta be up there power wise. There is no way these put the power down more efficiently than some of the 700hp+ supercars from the autotop list, that this is quicker than.

      To be honest, i havent done enough research on the N55 turbo upgrades. We've been looking in to it a bit for one on the M2 you may have seen on the channel. But without spending mega money there is not too many options.

      Yeah, they definitely make the power. Not sure how they will last at these levels. But i hope my car is a guide for how far you can abuse them for other people out there.

    I usually believe that I am hard to influence but.... I just purchased 17t's and inlets 😉. I have a friend who has started a pipe work business and he will do custom outlets for me as well on the day (lucky me).
    I'm glad that you are mentioning JSR in the vids, I will be contacting him as well now. Mine won't be as extreme as yours, pump fuel only but will be fun.
    Definitely sub 6 in the 100-200kmh for you without the passenger. Well done bud.

I'm pretty certain I will get appreciable gains with these turbos, but she is my daily so won't be chasing it too hard (until the bug bites 😂). I'm auto with XHP as well. I have been thinking of doing some vids, before and after. Think that would be interesting. .

    Looks great! Got my basemap delivered just yesterday, unfortunatley it seems my boost solenoids gone bad (30ff. Checked all the vaccum lines and did a pressure test, but seems all fine), just ordered new ones. I can't wait for my first pulls I'm shooting for the 600hp. To how much HP would you say are your 27psi equivalent?

      Well you wouldn't think this would put its power down more efficiently than an Aventador, they weigh about 200kgs less than this car, better tyres and wheels and they have 730hp/544kw at the crank. So this must be up around those figures. Im guessing this around the 580-600whp area.

      Zero To 60 I think an Aventador weighs around 1625kg, is’nt that as a 335?

      Car view, i thought the Aventadors were 1500kg, i know the e92s are 1600, but i was allowing for the extra passenger, and additional weight in the car for mine being around 1700kg.

    What tires are you running and do you plan to upgrade. I'm looking at proxes r888r in the rear. You don't realize how bad traction is on 335 at this level until you try to race from a dig and I even have lsd and diff brace

    This is insane any ideas where it would be at with just 98 on direct injection only.
    I was on the fence about buying a 335i till I started watching these videos but I've pulled the trigger and now have one on the way can't wait to start using you diys to do some simple mods

      Could only guess power, but i would expect it to be about 20%-25% down on the stock di system with 98 only. And you know, that would be more than enough. I did not think this was going to be as quick as it is. If i was doing it again, i would probably just go china turbos and stock high pressure fuel system for a car i use as my daily.

      With purely 98 (no meth), you are probably going to be limited to 22-24psi. But you will also be on a much less aggressive timing target. Still that would be a mega setup for a daily driver. Still be around the 500whp.

      @@Richard-ck5zk custom tune with the right tuner will make a big difference. Ran OTS maps first year then custom tune would never go back to OTS tunes.

    How do you keep oil temperature that low? My stock 335i goes aroun 120-130 when im driving agresivly, and around 110-120 when in trafic

      Those are normal temps mate, for N54.

      To be honest i am not sure. I wonder if my sensor isn't working properly. My car just always seem cool. Actually to be fair the coolant temp is nearly always under 100c too. It will go just over after a few pulls, but its back under 100c pretty quickly.

    Question does the engine have forged pistons from factory? Why that’s a lot of boost for cast pistons and I’d be starting to get worried about std ring gaps and you know what happens when ring ends grow and touch each other goodnight pistons anyway good luck with it

      They don't have forged pistons from factory, but they are very well designed piston. The n54 does have forged crank and rods though. Regardless at these power levels on a 3.0l its luck of the draw how long they last, whether it's built or stock. I have no expectations on my motor. If it blows tomorrow, i wont be surprised. I really hope it doesn't, but you need to be realistic. Whether it's a piston, rings, rod bearings grabbing, rod bending, going lean, spark plug melting... it could be anything that kills it when the times comes.

    Making me excited to turn my car up beyond MHD 2+. What do you guys think is the next step after DP, FMIC, and intakes? E and Methanol are pretty much a no go where I’m at

      If you can't run better fuel, you are probably maxed out until you can do turbos to be honest. MHD stage 2 maxes stock turbos, so with out extra octane you will need to get more air and the only way to do that will be turbos. Even inlets is a bit of a waste on stock turbos and pump fuel.

      Car was running flex fuel. Never been on a dyno. However not that aggressively tuned. The car only has 17ts currently.

      Soon, but not a priority, i'm not tuning on a Dyno, so it will just be to get a number. A number that is only really good for comparing cars tested on the same dyno.... So i will wait till its done some properly fast dragy times, then i will do the dyno test. The dragy is a better comparison of power to other cars around the world.

      Also if you look at the power numbers on the modded cars in the autotop list there’s a lot of powerful cars that aren’t that fast.
      Still I want to do a dyno run, because just to put a number behind it all really.

    What a motor!! we need to remember that this n54 have 306hp stock...now for sure is handling more of the double and its seems still perfectly healthy.
    It's definetely the best bang for buck of the market.

      One day, once i have it all set up. The 100-200 times are the best way to compare it with other cars around the world anyway.

    So what's the story here gentlemen. Are the 17T worth buying ? Are they easy to work with ? Are they problematic ? Are they a pain in the arse ? Do they wear and tear easily or prematurely ? or can you beat on them repeatedly like higher quality turbos without having a heart attack over things breaking the turbos breaking or turbo parts falling apart ?
    I also noticed a 19T 6+6 Chinese Twin Turbo setup that seems to be even better.
    11 blade or 9 blade impellers ?

      I think they are great value. But if you are looking at any turbos and thinking of winding them up to over 25psi, you need to expect something to break. Dont do it if you are concerned about reliability. My current take is any of the 6+6 offerings, they seem to have less issues. My 6+6 17ts have been faultless, made decent power, and really blown everyone away that has been in the car. For the money you can not beat them.

      @@ZeroTo60Tube Thank you for.the reply mate! I appreciate the feedback. I am absolutely concerned about reliability as I use the 335i from May to December in Canada. During the winter months I drive a 4x4 Toyota Tacoma to drive over mountains of snow.
      I see the 17T but I also see 19T 6+6, the seller is making me an incredible offer on 19T 6+6 but they use "Journal Bearings". My understanding and research shows that "ball bearings" are the better choice as "Journal Bearings" are much cheaper I'm quality and don't spool up as freely as ball bearings do.
      I'm willing to copycat your setup if your ok with that mate ? I already have boxes of aftermarket parts from Burger Tuning which includes JB4 tuning and all the other good stuff but it doesn't make sense running Everything with stock turbos. I will probably destroy the stock turbos fairly quickly. The other options are overrated and extremely expensive name brand Twin Turbo setups or Single Turbo Setups available here in the USA but the price tags are INSANE !! $5,500.00 just for a turbo kit. I'm not looking to build the fastest 335 in the street. Just something to use as a daily driver and maybe a few speeding tickets from the local police departments 😂👍. You need to have some fun in life.
      Are your Turbos the 17T 6+6 ? TD04 ? I see so many on eBay that it has become a nightmare to narrow down the search and just pick a kit. They only sell the turbos and manifolds, then you need intakes, charge pipes, and everything has to work well together. Most importantly the tuning with a JB4 setup and maybe an MHD Piggyback flash tune as well. Cheers Mate ! 👍

      It ended up doing a 6.1 100-200. Dynos are all different so its not the best idea to use a dyno figure as a power comparison benchmark, unless you are testing on the same dyno on the same day. But cars doing this sort of time will be between 550whp and 650whp depending on what dyno they are tested on.

      Only about 2-3 months. Turbos were fine when the engine lost compression.
      However will have the engine out soon and will inspect the 17t for shaft play.

      It's a wild ride. Coil overs are ordered. I found a cheap second hand diff. Just need to finalise a plan with the brakes. But its all happening and then we'll work on getting in to the 5's.

      Those turbos are around the 1k mark and I’ve spent at least 3k on maintenance (non-turbo stuff) in just under 2 years keeping it stable at stage 1

    You guys should Dyno it then eventually start taking out weight. Simple stuff like removing back seat lighter exhaust and lighter wheels.

      My wheels are cheap ebay 19 inch things. They weigh so much, they will be high on the list of things to sort out to get in to the 5's.

      @@ZeroTo60Tube if available in your area the F30 calipers bolt right up. You can even use the brake sensor if you are on a lci model.

      Definitely. However I’ll be doing it for the looks. I think a decent set of rotors and pads, with some braided lines would probably be fine for what I do with the car. But I want the looks haha. I’m gonna go for 380mm rotors front and not sure on calipers yet.

    I think they wonder around under power because the bushes are so big and soft. They need to make them soft for the 19 inch run flats and mr joe average wanting looks and comfort.
    They wonder around under hard brakes for the same reason

      Yeah, it's crazy going this fast at full weight, but then you can just pop it in to d mode and it drives like a stock N54. Everything you have mentioned could cause the wobble. I think firstly the shocks are blown out. I just filmed a clip of bouncing the front end, it wallows like an American car made in the 60s. Safe to say my shocks are toast. But also the way the rear end spins up. It's like the power transfers from left to right wheel as it all loads up under hard acceleration. Im gonna do, coil overs first as i know my shock are no good, hopefully the LSD im getting works out ok, then brakes. I'll re-evaluate after that. Im not tracking the car, just need to it to be a bit more manageable on a hard pull. The reason i went to the speedo view is legit looks unsafe the amount of steering i have to put in, to keep it straight on these 100-200 runs. Its also why we are a bit sheepish after the run haha. Its a little terrifying.

      Hey man! Thanks for the comment. I can't remember the wheel offset right now, sorry. But i am going to change them to a better wheel soon. They are super cheap eBay wheels and they are very heavy. The current tyres are Michelin PS4s and they dont hook at all. But i am hoping an LSD my help with that.

      When the car is all setup. It's not getting tuned on the dyno, so it's just a number thing. Mind you the dyno numbers mean less than the dragy numbers.

    Better to drive a SLOW CAR FAST Than a FAST CAR SLOW ;) Anyway Boys will be Boys your past that now LOL Hopefully I can get in the M3 Supercharged this weekend and we will do a 100/200 video on a corrected true reading speedo as a comparison. The dilemma now is what next (Dave cunningly has all his drivetrains Lsd propshafts half shafts brakes etc sorted and will spend most his time with his bum in his Seat enjoying his ride with only his Mrs with her hands in his wallet ) You are in a different world, best thing you can do is buy a totalled rear ended M3/4 and start swapping brakes drivetrain front spoiler etc over, 335i halfshafts propshafts differential etc not strong enough for your power, unfortunately you will have to shorten propshaft inch or so to make it all fit. Please Please don’t try upgrading all brakes etc with new it will cost a fortune and unless you go top end in my car circles experience will Fail sooner rather than later. Boy have we got some video bliss coming are way as you tackle this insurmountable project,tons of footage of your bleeding knuckles ,sweat and frustration in the garage, and loads sideways action from Dave actually driving his beast and finally surmising Toyo Proxies 888 best tyres for him along with liberal applications factor 50 on his arm waving out the window. ;)) THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU AGAIN FINEST PETROLHEAD CONTENT ON RUclips TODAY.       That is not how anyone does the 100-200 testing. You need to be at full power as you start the run.
