I think you need the smallest rotors as possible but good but good thickness, that can do the job so for that you need brake cooling ducts. Since the car is powerful and heavy you can’t go too low. With good cooling some 356 x 32 front and rear should be ok or maybe 380x34 front. For handling you need to check the bias so you calculate piston area and mean rotor diameter. Normally a non m car has 70-% front and an M I saw a guy that said it had 65% but a gt3 50-50 weight distribution can go as low as 60-58% even with slick tires and race brakes (of course the have a bias selector so not relying that much on what brakes they have they can adjust to whatever ratio)
Honestly, these could be true Brembo's. Lots of chinese factory workers will take the items that are still fully functional, but didn't pass the company's QC and just resell them elsewhere at a discount without the parent company's knowledge.
I had no idea brake kits like this existed... However, I’m truly interested in seeing how these fare in real life circumstances and “track braking” situations. Hoping to see a future video regarding these !!
Also how funny. Brembo Brake rotors are no longer manufactured in the United States or Canada for aftermarket consumption. The “domestic” brands you may be familiar with (Raybestos,Wagner, Bendix, Centric, Motorcraft, Delco) are all manufactured in China/Taiwan.
As a reference to the fact they’re very much Chinese brakes, I recommend rebranding the calipers to say, “Chinesium”... opportunity to pick a clever font to honestly imitate Brembo.
Only just discovered your channel and this video now. Very interesting and kinda scary that this is happening on such a safety component. It would have been cool if brembo sent a tech to go through this with you and identify areas where they aren't the same. Any idea if they are even aware/care about these chinese knockoffs? Whats the story with them now, a couple of years later?
Ended up chatting with Dickase quite a lot since 2020, we have the newer version in our other car. Video explains it well ruclips.net/video/OUTZOM9Q02s/видео.html First set going strong once the fitment issues were sorted.
@@ZeroTo60Tube Alright, thanks for the update, good to know. I still don't think I could go ahead myself and do it! Brembo don't care there are Chinese brakes out there with their logo on them? Or could they well be aware?
@@AM4N18 I was really unsure of what the go was when i ordered these. A lot of people were like "brembo have factories in china and these are just seconds". I did a lot of research and brembos big issue with fakes is companies pairing incorrect caliper and rotor sizes, meaning bias's are incorrect. So if FCP sell a brembo caliper with thier disc, Brembo seem to have issues with that. But brembro never address the issue with the china copies. Now brembo do have pads being made in china. But i can't find anything showing this level of caliper is baing made anywhere but italy. Getting to know Dickase over the years. These are nothing to do with Brembo. But as a china manufacturer, you can invest years in to developing a products and make it cheap and no one will buy it. Or you can copy a western product, tell the customer its fake and sell 1000s. Which is what they have done. They are in business and in china copying a western product is no problem. Something i hope this video series highlights is how many fakes are out there. I have seen so many sets being sold as genuine, which are very unlikely to be real brembo. Are these as good as genuine. I think so. However they must not be sold as genuine, its a different product. The way i see it, genuine you buy through a local reputable company who will install test and make sure you pair the correct brakes for your application. Thats where the price difference goes. You are paying for support and someones time and knowledge and that is worth more than a set of brakes.
The F80 M sport caliper upgrade is the best option for the 335i in my opinion great stopping power and can be sourced alot cheaper then aftermarket BBK also can go up to 380mm rotors with custom made brackets.

Borrow an infrared temp sensor so you can fully monitor the temps or temp gauge stickers instead of the infrared gun. Maybe measure pedal travel too, you shouldn't need to push it much with this humongous kit! Great info as always! Now I know how to get a vremvo kit for the lawn mower.

Do a brake distance test by using a set braking point and marking your finish position on the road with black spray paint. Also, who the fuck puts corn chips in the fridge?
I fitted a set of genuine brembos to a commodore recently and they had "made in italy" cast into the back of em.... but far out there some big af brakes gonna suck your eye balls out 🤣🤘
Brembo has a manufacturing plant in China , that would be hilarious if they were actual brembos being sold by some underpayed employee , who's trying to make some money on the side 😳. Hence the name "Dick@$$" , they sticking it to brembo 🤣
Ah that's a ripper.. or should I say 'RIPPOFF'. DickAss corp. could've branded em' as KickAss big brake kit lol. The callipers in bright orange or lime green would look cooler IMO. Hope the brake fade is better than the standard set-up.
The thing I would be worried though, is are these brakes going to fail on me. Don't want to be gambling with my life just to look cool. As an engineer who produces some of our materials in China but most of it here in Europe, I can definitely say that China has faulty quality control for sure, if any. Though not all is bad for sure. It's just always a wonder to see how the materials will last.
I will be interested to see the consequences of this purchase as it pertains to the law of conservation. You cannot get more out of an already established amount. So 2K for a 10K kit.... what gremlins lie in wait...oh the suspense. Hopefully, you don't die due to this gamble.
I have been following the whole build with feverish anticipation! I too have been rebuilding my 2009 335i but not to the extent of bigger turbos -- yet. I have done fabrication before to fit larger brake kits to cars so I am completely interested in these for my car. I do not track my car so I would love to find out where to get these. My little one day search has not yielded the right setup for Dickass brake set up on a 2009 BMW 335i. Maybe the branding has changed a little to DicCase with the C looking like a missing part of the K. Please, please, please tell us how to get them.
There are quite a few companies selling these brakes on ali under lots of different names. The issue is making sure whoever puts the kit together is supplying all the right parts, correct callipers. Even things like pison sizes need to be checked to make sure you get the right kit. They are cheap but you have to put the work in with the ali express sellers.
Serial numbers? I wouldn't be surprised if it is same factory as Brembo just sold through the back door. I think the msport bumpers have bigger airducts directed to the brakes so maybe looking into upgrading that for your stock bumper. Might help. Not sure
well only Supplier I can find are Guangzhou Wantian Industrial off Alibaba, I wish they would really just say where they came from. Its interesting to research this
Ok... so did you know that brembos factory is located in China for about 2 decades now??🤔 do your research!! 80% of all things you use today is made/ has parts made in china...
I had similar concerns. However china can and do make great products. But they also make utter rubbish. I'm hoping the fact these are quite expensive for a Chinese product means they are actually a reasonable quality. I wont be every working them too hard, so hopefully we stay well with in their capabilities.
Zero To 60 what I am afraid of is not so much the top hat or the rotors but the screw hardware or the spring clips holding the rotors to the top hats or the caliper to knuckle adapters being of inferior quality metal. The Allen cap screw bolts you showed, are they truly hardened?
Hi there to compare the brakes use a work shop that has a road worthy brake tester that measure applied force to pedal and metres to stop the vehicle from any speed they should do it for little cost or even free if you give the shop a plug on you tube
Temp paint on the rotors is a good method. apracing.com/race-car/brake-pads/measuring-brake-temperature Then get some temp stickers on the calipers as well.
If you have brembos already can you trust does rotors? Since rotors in USA run you about 1,600 just rotors no calipers. And I seen rotors on AliExpress for about $600 the set.
I dont want to say these are as good as the real deal. But if you are not doing heavy track work i "think" they will be fine. If you are doing like 20 minute plus track sessions, brakes are really working hard and that might need some more thought.
Vehicle Standard (Australian Design Rule 31/03 - Brake Systems for Passenger Cars) 2013: you can find this on the web and will give you an idea of what testing you might want to do. Do they claim to meet any standards, carry the European approval etc? Just remember it’s not just ‘your’ risk should these fail and you should have a mod plate otherwise the car is unroadworthy. Its pretty easy for a cop to spot that they’re not oem.
Correct they will need to be checked and approved by an engineer to get the mod plate. On the same note, the engineer wouldn't be able to identify that these weren't real brembos. They also claim the factory is accredited, but how to check if anything is legitimate is a tough one.
FYI guys if you go for a M3 master cylinder, you need to get a RHD master, they're pretty tricky to source as lots of non ///M owners use them for F80 M3 four piston retrofits
Do some temperature measurements after a couple of brake tests and compare them! Also you could do the same with the fluid. Great videos guys! I’m following you from the beginning and my 335 i is as well hahah
Good video guys. I used to have access to brake pedal force transducer etc etc, but changed jobs :( It would have been good to help out. Sorry guys. I have no knowledge about the park brake setup on BWMs or these Bremos, but just wanted to make sure you'll still have a rear handbrake preferabley before you take the old stuff off and start installing the new stuff and have to re-do everything again. I know some of the willwood kits I've looked at for other cars don't have a handbrake function at all. Keep up the good work guys.
That would have been awesome to check. I am fairly confident my pedal feel will be different. It will take less for to get the same stopping power, but the pedal movement will be further (i hope that makes sense). In regards to the handbrake, yes this kit is supplied with a rear rotor hat that has the provisioning for the handbrake. The kit appears to be spot on so far.
most performance brakes have a heat sensitive paint that will tell you how hot the rotor get maybe you could try to get some of this paint to allow you to tell how hot the rotor gets while in use
In my mind i was calculating the cost of a front and rear genuine kit. They are basically 3k-4k USD each end of the car. So yes, they are worth more than my thing. I only paid $10kAUD.
Just got my Chinese turbos delivered! Hoping there isn't too much difference for an install on a Z4 35i! Great work gyuys. Keep the Vid's coming #AUSN54

Resists the urge to google dickass and send screenshots to all my friends for a lol
You can test brake fade by doing multiple stops back to back.
As a reference to the fact they’re very much Chinese brakes, I recommend rebranding the calipers to say, “Chinesium”... opportunity to pick a clever font to honestly imitate Brembo.
I thought truly warped rotors were actually very rare
Peep's aren't happy when cheap replica's are crap and now that replica's are quality made still not happy ,wat a crowd.
Haha I saw these brakes and was like "Who the hell calls their brakes dickase" then decided to look up a video.
Do the right thing. Refinish them and put DickAss on the brakes. Lol 🤣
Lol we dont like fakes... i will have a redbull 😊
haha, i wondered how many people would notice the top shelf of the fridge is full of copy drinks.
I still want the link! Lol but I understand. Looking forward to more awesome videos and thank you for doing the test for us
Thanks for checking out the vids and watching a long. Sorry about the link, but it's pretty easy to find them. Just type those 2 words in to google... i dare you :P
@@ZeroTo60Tube i got ahold of them and chatting with them also. found they had blue calipers with just a M logo.. lol that wouldnt have been that bad vs these brembos?
@@supraboy82 can you send me the link I can’t find it
Borrow an infrared temp sensor so you can fully monitor the temps or temp gauge stickers instead of the infrared gun. Maybe measure pedal travel too, you shouldn't need to push it much with this humongous kit! Great info as always! Now I know how to get a vremvo kit for the lawn mower.
Put "TeamN54" on the Calipers 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Google “dickass isn’t gonna end well”😂😂
After seeing this I'm really impressed, looking forward to hearing your review, maybe some dickass brakes in my future
I'd be curious if actual Brembo pads fit in the calipers. Could give you a few options to upgrade in the future if they rest of the kit holds up.
I haven't checked myself, but i have read from others that the genuine pads do fit.
What Coilovers did you end up getting? Can you please add to the parts list?
I went with Geckos. I am actually pretty happy with them. I wanted to make sure they were ok over a few weeks before adding them to the main parts list. I have done a few vids on them. Here's part 1 ruclips.net/video/zPk3kJWlDkk/видео.html
Who's to say they're not the actual Sub contracted manufacturer of the Brembo breaks?
I'll say it.... they are not... haha. However they are making a good product. Just dont use the pads the entry level pads
Do a brake distance test by using a set braking point and marking your finish position on the road with black spray paint. Also, who the fuck puts corn chips in the fridge?
Lol.... that fridge was full of humour...
@@ZeroTo60Tube hahaha yep, fridge full 'o' puns
I fitted a set of genuine brembos to a commodore recently and they had "made in italy" cast into the back of em.... but far out there some big af brakes gonna suck your eye balls out 🤣🤘
Brembo has a manufacturing plant in China , that would be hilarious if they were actual brembos being sold by some underpayed employee , who's trying to make some money on the side 😳.
Hence the name "Dick@$$" , they sticking it to brembo 🤣
a comparison in stopping distance between each set of brakes would be cool to compare. Keep up the good content guys you have my support!
Thanks man!!! We really love how much the community in our comment section has grown. You guys are effing awesome.
What about prodigyworks?
What episode are those brakes from?🤣
I will be interested to see the consequences of this purchase as it pertains to the law of conservation.
@@ZeroTo60Tube Thanks for responding! I see that can be the issue.
Also, saw the post on e90post. One Dickass thread. Lol
What size rotors for the back and front? And... I fund them on alibaba, do they really work good?
Serial numbers? I wouldn't be surprised if it is same factory as Brembo just sold through the back door. I think the msport bumpers have bigger airducts directed to the brakes so maybe looking into upgrading that for your stock bumper. Might help. Not sure
Did you get stung for Import Duty GST on top of the $2K you paid for the brakes?
hi 0 to 60,
would you be able to provide the correct link to the product?
Thanks 0 to 60
To be honest I actually was going to look at those brakes but said I got Rick rolled my man I’m just gonna buy some cheap breaks
well only Supplier I can find are Guangzhou Wantian Industrial off Alibaba, I wish they would really just say where they came from. Its interesting to research this
There is no way I would ever trust the material quality of a Chinese BBK built at the business end of an SKS rifle.
Ok... so did you know that brembos factory is located in China for about 2 decades now??🤔 do your research!! 80% of all things you use today is made/ has parts made in china...
King Pin I do know Brembo had a factory in Nanjing. These are not from that factory, hence have none of the quality controls of Brembo.
Temp paint on the rotors is a good method. apracing.com/race-car/brake-pads/measuring-brake-temperature
Then get some temp stickers on the calipers as well.
Scam
Do a 5 times from 150 to 50 and braking distance from 100 to 0 and take average. Compare with old one
"Chengbros"
FYI guys if you go for a M3 master cylinder, you need to get a RHD master, they're pretty tricky to source as lots of non ///M owners use them for F80 M3 four piston retrofits
Would U tell me where u get this brake kit...? Link plz 🤩
Call a spade a fickin shovel and put an AliExpress logo on them. Rock it proud! Or eBay motors logo
Got same brakes but matched to original discs to fit 18" OEM rims.
Could they be real brembo kit? Brembo has factories in China, maybe they are from the same factory and doesn't meet the QC standard?
Hey hey! First thanks for becoming a member really appreciate it. I don’t think they are genuine, but I think they work just as good, so far anyway
Factory brake lines are braided fwiw
Also 345mm discs if I remember right - M3 ones are 350?
berry rucky no.1 lucky dragon brakes...
It's probably next to the intercooler factory !
It’s funny because the actually companys name is “Dick Ace” 😂
Do some temperature measurements after a couple of brake tests and compare them! Also you could do the same with the fluid. Great videos guys! I’m following you from the beginning and my 335 i is as well hahah
Good video guys.
I used to have access to brake pedal force transducer etc etc, but changed jobs :(
It would have been good to help out.
Check for brake fade. Im sure thats where the difference is going to happen from these to brembos
Is there a M3 kit available? Or only 335?
The rotors are 380mm, what size are your alloys? I have 18's and wondering if a 380 will fit.
From what i have read some aftermarket 18's will work with the 380mm kit. But 19s are safer.
most performance brakes have a heat sensitive paint that will tell you how hot the rotor get maybe you could try to get some of this paint to allow you to tell how hot the rotor gets while in use
Got any Redbull? Yes. Hands him a flying power! bahhahahaha
haha
if you think your car is worth $3k 🇺🇸 I'll gladly buy it off you and ship it to the UK 👍
Hell yeah! I love the Z4 35i's. Do you have insta? Kinda wanna check the car out.
