    grease anywhere near the break assembly is a total no no. it tends to liquify as the heat increases and runs on the friction material. the used greases are usually heat resistant so burning them of the rotor is not that easy. on top of this the grease acts as a thermal paste, conducting heat from the pad to the calliper's pistons.

    I think they recommended the perfect brake kit for you and your car because regular slotted rotors is good however J slotted rotors is better because the slotting is more aggressive giving a better pedal feel and has better performance. A must have with high performance brakes is good quality grippy wheels and quality performance brake pads.

    What size brake discs were these and were the calipers wider than the OEM? Just making sure the AP won't scrape the inner wheel spokes. What was the actual part number for the big brake kit?

    • @TommyLGarage

      I included all the details in the description of this video. This is a pretty standard set and definitely wider and bigger than OEM.

      @@TommyLGarage Track time is wonderful) I know one inexpensive trick for track riding, some friends of mine change lower arms on their Carreras for arms from GT3. GT-arms has metal hinge and car will go more precisely, and you can make more agressive camber angles. Ride comfort for street using still good, and the metal ball in the arms is neatly covered with rubber from the factory, and unlike a pure racing one, it will not creak during the rain, and will ride for as long as usual

    Hey Tomazs, big fan of your channel. Are aftermarket rotors offered to fit your OEM calipers? I am guessing no, bc you prolly would've gone that direction first. But please LMK

      if just replacing rotors, why avoid OEM?

    • @tribe_called_oh
      @tribe_called_oh 2 года назад +1

      @@zyzlol bc he tracks or will track the car, and cross drilled rotors are not the move. They are prone to cracking. But I asked bc I am confident the oem brake system w aftermarket pads and rotors were more than enough for the job.

      Girodiscs are great for OEM replacements. In my case I wanted to go with something bigger and something which will make it easier to replace pads
