Thanks for putting in all the effort to bring us your trackday vlog 007. It’s always fun watching others have fun and you’re the master at capturing fun in your vlogs. The GSXR looks and sounds great on track; you’ve built a wonderfully versatile performance bike. Cheers.
Why did that guy fall off? The body position wasnt ideal but still not the worst... cant see the brakes on when it goes so not trail braking that I can see. Cold tyres? And great vid of course 😊
It always amazes me how much energy a track day takes out of a body. After all, we're just sitting there, right? At least that's what it looks like to someone who hasn't tried it themselves.
haha yes agreed Bill!! when you are pushing on a hot lap its equivalent cycling up a steep hill or jogging I would say! Plus its muscles you dont necessary use so the next few days after im aching!
Amazing video, you are the king of tech no question. The Suzuki looks beautiful in blue, I’d be terrified of falling off and wrecking that stunning bike. Thanks chopsy.👍👍
Looks excellent fun, I took my KTM Super Duke R over to Nurburgring in summer, in a van with two other friends and bikes, it was one of those bucket list sorta things to do, great vid most enjoyable as always. 👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
Looks like you guys had an awesome day on track 👍👑👍 And it seemed like you had the fastest bike, Chops... or the biggest 🥜 Gotta love that gixxer 👌😁👍 Great job with the video like usual !
Great footage. I'm sure lots of us have never had a track day; and wondered what's involved to get on track. Front forks geezer... Dear Santa. Please can I have some heavy duty fork springs for Christmas? Love Chops 😀
Thanks Baccas, yes would recommend everyone has a go, It is great fun. Yes forks I had to keep winding in preload. Now I know it needs 3 turns from road spec if there are plenty of very fast heavy braking areas, 2 if only moderate :-)
So you managed to get a couple of little clips from my filming 😁🏍💨 I knew I would look a mess as I needed a hair cut and a shave but blimey, you really caught me of guard 😂😂
@@easternmenace 😂😂 thanks Mr Menace, that makes me feel a bit better, I wasn't prepared for being on video and at that point I turned around and Mr Chops was filming 😂
Yet another great vid mate, snetterton looks an awesome track, a few mate went last year, maybe I'll finally break my track duck, and take the zx10r out for a blast round 🏍🏍.
I just did a track day on a set of S22’s and they worked great. No tire warmers, super fast heat up tho and never once gave me a worry. Riding a GSX-S1000 street bike and had a blast spanking fully kitted track bikes
Great vid, loved the overlay. My local track. What corner did you find hardest to learn? For me it was the right hander at the end on the pit straight. You approach so fast with little in the way of braking points to judge. It such a wide open corner as well it's hard to gauge your speed.
Hi Steve, yes agreed I struggled there, allways seems to be in the wrong place on the track and I was doing 150 mph very hard to judge how much speed you need to scrub off for the next corner. Its such a fast circuit really rather scary on a litre bike as speeds you can reach are incredible!
@@LambChopRides Glad it's not just me then. My scariest moment around Snetterton (love the high speed myself tbh) was on my 98 R1 after exiting the Bomb Hole and going into Coram I had some dirty great bug hit me in the visor and couldn't see much. Completely ruined my corner concentration and I went wide and had to pick the bike up straight just as I went onto the grass. Coram is quite a long right hander and fairly fast. Fortunately there is a lot of grass there so managed to slow without much breaking then came back on the circuit again after Murrays just before the pit straight. Took a slow lap staying off the racing line and went in and cleaned up, including my visor.
Yes when you see that right in front does make you think... Knew he was ok as just a tumble but not nice. Quite a few riders crashed, so many that they got everyone together after lunch and said sort it out!
Brilliant and funny track days well worth watching Mr chops the gsxr is a real weapon and nice to drop how was the brakes on the gsxr .thanks from Danny
Thanks Danny, no issues with brakes they didnt fade at all but just need lots of effort to pull the lever. Going to be overhauling them with braided lines and perhaps a new MC..
Hey Chopsy need to work on those chicken strips on the Gixxer. You're paying for the whole tyre might as well use it LOL. But on serious note. Nice video. Love to see another tour vid. Anything in the planning for you and Womble.
Thanks Richard, there will be more tour stuff but me on my own unfortunately. Did a Greece tour with BMW which will be starting soon. Bloody amazing out there should be incredible! The roads a views are breathtaking
"heavy weights on light weights" i like that, might have to get a stick made for my CB500, also love the fact that my bald head was probably throwing out the white balance on your camera :D
Really entertaining vid. Looked a great laugh heading down to the track with a few mates & some decent banter too. GSXR was great but I bet you secretly had more fun on the KTM. Less is more!
Yes was a brilliant day RR, done one since but unfortunately not allowed cameras there so nothing to share here. But on that second one really pushed myself and felt I came on leaps and bounds in speed. Will see next year when I hit the track again :-)
Done with the Speed Angle lap timer. Used that data in dashware and then used the same data with Google Earth for the overhead. Takes ages hence only have it on best lap haha. Circuit is serious 🤪
Yes it is, nothing overtakes it on the straights and thats with an elephant like me on it!! Womble struggled a little on track with the Tuono, think hes missing a sports bike when it comes to track work.. Can see him buying another sports bike but keeping the Tuono also as he loves it
Question for you Chops; I been riding for about 5 years, mostly Adventure bikes, I've never really excelled at the more spirited/aggressive riding, dragging pegs and knees etc. I've just moved near the Alps I'm going to get a second bike for spirited rides and track days etc. Which type would one progress on quicker?
I would suggest something like a GSXR600 or 750, maybe Daytona 675 also. Other than that a good supermoto would be incredible in the Alps Im sure! You dont want something too big, GSXR 750 is a lovely sized bike
Awesome Chops. Thanks for the advice, I'll hopefully pick something up over the winter. If you're ever passing near Lyon on your way to the Alps drop by for a cuppa/beer and a spin
Timing was done with the Speed Angle from R&G, great bit of kit!! Used Dashware to produce the overlay and google maps for the overhead track shots. Takes a fair amount of effort to get all that working hence was only in the fastest lap clip :-)
I don't understand why you waste half the track!? You should be able to stick your leg out and hit the turning in cone and then tip in. Also, were you in novice? Everyone seemed to be upright round the corners and going slow AF. 😂🤣
@@AirwolfBMG Yes it does make a difference and especially with the AP racing air filter and also its much smoother. I run mine in Sport mode as that gives the best demand for torque and engine braking. I think the MPH flashes when in RACE mode but ill have to check on my bike.
How the guy and his bike at 9.10 were ok, looked like the lid saved his head . . Shame you got no photo or footage looking at the front of the bike, what with that ⬛ sticker on the screen could have been a father Ted moment 😂
The telemetry overlay is absolutely fantastic mate , nice one!
How did you get all that chops? Looks awesome! Especially the Google maps that follows you round

Thanks Bruce and your welcome :-) does take some editing with all the sessions etc etc. But nice change from the normal road stuff
Why did that guy fall off? The body position wasnt ideal but still not the worst... cant see the brakes on when it goes so not trail braking that I can see. Cold tyres? And great vid of course 😊
Yes interesting one, I think tyres were cold and he throw it in too hot.
Oggies , nasty corner! I crashed same way there on hot tyres, lot of racers low side there too as its deceptively tight

Good stuff Chops. Love the overlay of track, lap timer and speed info at the end.
Nice work LCR. I remember that track from when I used to be in the BSB paddock. Lots of fun. :)
A fun day with your buddies🏍🏍🏍, fun to see😀
Awesome Chops, only done 1 track day before at croft in the rain, so looking forward to next year and get some more in 👍🏻
Keep up the good work mate
Thanks Derek 👍
My local track. Will have to give it a go next year. Hope to see you there!
One can never do too many trackdays! Good job, keep going Chopsey! :D
Great video chops 👍
I love these track day vids, I'd be crapping myself well done all riders.
Thanks Axeman glad you liked it
Good stuff mate I got the 2019 690 last year managed a 2.11 on that with slicks not bad considering my best on my r1 is 2.01
I want a GSXR even more than ever now!
Amazing video, you are the king of tech no question. The Suzuki looks beautiful in blue, I’d be terrified of falling off and wrecking that stunning bike. Thanks chopsy.👍👍

Thanks Griz, was great fun. Need to get you on track next year fella!!

Yeah its a serious track, I didnt have the balls to go much faster as you have to properly commit. Well worth going though, highly recommended

That 2.24 best lap makes me feel better about my 2.16 on my gen 1 rsv 1000 😅

No you will be ok Mati, worth trying a track day you will be suprised how far you can get it over
I had few great fun
What was the cost of the weekend? Any idea which course is to do for a first timer on track? I want to do it next year. Tia.
Cost was very reasonable via my local club, think it was £160 for the two days... Would recommend it brilliant fun

haha yes, well spotted :-)
Fast track, 150plus is no joke
Yes breaking from 150 for the fast right is tricky...
Under braking looks like you forks almost fully compressed lol

Time to melt some tires! I would have stayed on the SMC all day. I just don't need to go over 125 mph.
Yeah it was fun, would be even better on a less crazy track like brands...
Ah If I known Womble never had the AP map I would have done it for him.
