WORST TRACK IVE EVER RIDDEN - Shane Mcelrath Vlog

- Definitely a tricky race day yesterday. That was probably the worst conditions I’ve ever raced in and it was a bummer to see so many people go down. I’m pretty happy with how my starts are now after some work with the team this week and I tried hard to force the first couple corners but with a start straight that short I was just a little too far outside. The simple fix for that is to qualify better 😆 I’m excited to get back to work this week and finish strong in Vegas 💪🏼👊🏼

i worked for redbull and track builders for many years, i will say, i will agree on what my boss would always say " they are pros" when i would bring up a problem with the track or jump, and i will agree when the track or course isnt perfect prep or not ideal dirt, conditions, the better riders will always adapt and come out with better results, like deegan said, its just like riding alsinore mid day, he made it happen.
That track was a complete embarrassment.. especially for a “playoff” race. It’s the equivalent of Alabama and Georgia playing a playoff game at a middle school in my opinion. Bad venue, bad dirt, and bad execution. No one wanted to watch these guys donkey kicking and cartwheeling all over the track all day long. I feel for yall boys.
It's a track nonetheless the best came out on top. Let's just appreciate what we're seeing from all these guys
@@Dylan871xx that’s kinda the point.. we saw alot of dudes get wrecked this weekend. The best guys in the world were going down left and right. There’s something to be said for that.. and it’s not good.
Yall just love to complain the track wasn’t that bad an they got all the same advantage and disadvantage 😂
@@ct350r aight, cool. Take your ass out there then bro. You wouldn’t be able to double braking bump homie.. I don’t get people like you who act like all the riders don’t know what they’re talking about when it comes to a track.
@@calebmccalla4715 I never said he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. I’m just talking about people like you in the comments complaining that everything sucked and it was a terrible 😆, I don’t get ppl like you
They advertised a completely different track and had this different toned down layout in their back pocket all along. Between the track not being the greatest they were also charging people 25$ for parking yet advertised on the SMX website that parking was free. I guess I'm the only one bugged out about the parking though. When I pulled into the venue I mentioned this to the parking staff and he told me a lot of people have been asking about that and then told me to pretend to tap my card to his pay machine and we were good. lmao
Good job Shane. I'm starting to think that you may be one of the riders that has the most to gain. You're healthy and that's a lot. You just need to find something in yourself and take advantage of this time that you have front of you.
That's the plan!
You survived!!!
That was brutal!!
One more race!
Rest up you’re going to need it!
Your doing Great work 💪💪💪🙏
Thank you 🙌
Tough track for sure, way to pull thru!
15 ain't too bad! I hope you find something to crack that top 10. Best of luck in the next one! Hang it out there and go for it.
That was brutal Shane. Keep up the good work
Cheers !
You look great on the Kawi, only upwards from here 🤞
Paying those purses...the tight wads had to save money and cut corners someplace. Good ride
I loved that Deegan compared it to 5 P.M. @ Elsinore MX..Baked.
😅
Great series!
Keep pushing brother!!! On e you get that bike figured out you will be fast as anyone out there!!!😊
Dudes were flyin!! 450 moto 2 was exceptional racing
Keep pushing!
Awesome vlog and commentary! Keep it up! 👍🔥
Thank you 🙌
That track sucked imo. And it was so tiny as well compared to last week's Charlotte track half the size and lap times. Too small and shittt dirt for supposedly being a "supermotocross" track half moto half Supercross. Can't wait for Las Vegas next weekend. Night race 🏁 🌃 🏁
Keep it up, God is Good!
Thanks for the truth and your still awesome! !
Always!
Pros should be able to handle any track, as i fan i enjoyed the races
My first and last smx race to attend. Timing of event was trash, DJ and his music was trash, venue and smx correspondence for what spectators can and can’t do was trash. Y’all riders are the only reason that keeps me watching. I can’t stand Feld entertainment either.
You would think that the organizers or someone would’ve said something about the dirt especially it being a “premiere” Playoff event! Unfortunately the snakes of the organizers and coombs are selfish and incompetent 🤦♂️
@@Skreebee I think it was greed got them. Didn’t wanna spend the money on good dirt or electricity bill for lighting
September is the hottest and dryest month of the year in Texas!
April through October is terrible for being outside doing anything but being in a pool.
All tracks are concrete during this time.
How long have you lived in Texas? August is definitely the hottest.
The top guys were still the top guys, No excuses. It was dirt, their dirtbikes and everyone had the same conditions.
Y’all need to get on the inverted fork bikes
No one ever said texas has good dirt😂 thank god ur all good
Texas overall is a bad venue during this time of year, imagine wanting to go pay to sit in 100 degree stands, yea no.
Not wrong!
Got that head shaved up but skipped the ear hairs. Lol
Kinda funny to always be right with the Suzuki guys... 😅
Nichols cooked shane placed 10th
Im no pro, but you guys should ride this crappy dirt everyday.
F for presentation
Brrrppppp
So to technical for this pro.. got it.
The 14 guys in front of you thought they can go a little bit faster than what you are describing
Love you man bro you try your best and where the chips fall that is where they lie stop complaining and just do your best and stay grateful. Love you man.
Suzuki made the right decision . Kawasaki is wasting their money. Nothing but excuses. It's moto.
SPOILED LOL
Shane… ??
Have you made a video yet that you don’t complain about how you didn’t give it 100% for various reasons? This time you played it safe because of the track and other times you didn’t give it your all because of the track and/or bike set up. Other times you didn’t give it your all because of the track/bike set up/the weather
/you didn’t feel good and or you ate a bad Twinkie before the race and it made your stomach feel upset?. I’m just wondering.. is there ever a race that you go to where you actually give it 1000% and you diet correctly for six months in advance and you train your ass off like a mofo and you treat your body like a true temple because it is exactly what is making you money? Just wondering exactly what’s going on because literally every single video you’re blaming all kinds of things and usually it’s, at least 75% of the time, you not giving 100% for various reasons.
Just wondering why the companies out there are still willing to pay you money? I’m not trying to be a dick.. although I’m sure somebody or a lot of people will call me one 😂 that’s OK, I’m just telling you that I am observing the same rhetoric video after video where you tell people that you’re not able to give 100% for a lot of various reasons.
I’m sorry, but you’re getting paid to ride a motorcycle and you need to figure out how to set up your bike and ride it at 100% or 110% most of the time. Just my thoughts.
I will also say this….
Your wife seems to love you 1000% and keeps motivating you. I’m going through a divorce so I wish I had a wife like yours or I wish my future ex-wife was a lot more like your current wife. You got that going for you that’s for damn sure. And obviously if you’re qualifying for the finals and you’re on TV, then you can ride the shit out of a mx bike.. that’s 100% for sure.
No doubt there.. you’re a bad ass mx rider.
But, Can you figure out a way to just make it into the top 10 without blaming yourself and not giving 100% all the time? What if you actually gave 100% all the time and irregardless of the conditions you just went out there and gave it 100%? What would your result be?
Wow what a cringe comment.. you aren’t the brightest are you?
You complain every video
Retire its time top 20s come on
