- President Joe Biden, 81, and presumed Republican nominee Donald Trump, 78, will become the oldest U.S. presidential candidates to ever spar in a debate. Perhaps their collective 160 years of life experience isn’t news. Biden and Trump will be breaking the record they set in the 2020 campaign. And either would be the oldest president on Inauguration Day in January 2025.
But while the focus is on the ages of Joe Biden & Donald Trump, we lose sight of the fact that US Congress has become the most powerful retirement home in the world. There are multiple members both Biden & Trump could call "young man." I honor their wisdom, yet this operates like no other industry in our nation #joebiden #donaldtrump #congress

My son's grandmother died at 98 and all her siblings all 9 dies in their 90 and high 80s .

Well, it may be time for term limits. If the last ten years tells us anything, we need younger voices with fresh ideas in power. I am not an ageist it's just that the times are changing faster now

Im just glad to see some black folk living to 80. Both my parents died way before 80. But then again they worked hard all their lives.
Politics seems to need an age range from young to old, (too young not enough experiences and too old you mind and body are betraying not only you but the voters), but there also seems to be a need for periodic, unscheduled drug testing and holding accountable those who traffic in law/rule bending and human trafficking. Politicians are horrible at policing themselves, and we the people horrible at getting the bad actors out because they said they'd police themselves.

That is why all branches of government need term limits. It isn’t only judges who can serve forever. As long as a person in Congress can get reelected they also have a lifetime appointment. I’m 76 and I want young people in Congress.
Term limits and age limits. And if your next birthday will put you over the age limit while in office, you must leave once it's up. No re-election for you! You go IN as a one term senator so get done whatever you promised the people you would and groom the next candidate while you hold the seat cuz you're out of there! Elected office was someone you were meant to take on as a service to the people, not a kush office gig that you could keep while hardly doing anything because once you worked there long enough management (the people) would forget about you.
