End of story,” Rep. Jasmine Crockett tells Melissa Murray, in for Ali Velshi. “Nobody gets this kind of money and isn’t influenced in any way.” They’re joined by Michael Waldman, President and CEO of the Brennan Center for Justice, who points out that Thomas represents the fringe who have now “become the mainstream on this court.”

Judges should be chosen by the legal system, not by political parties. It still offends me that the first question they are asked is « do you believe in god? ». It should be « will you uphold the rule of law in fairness and human decency? ».

Even if the legal system makes these decisions there will still be politics involved. That's the problem. The legal system could also deliver a corrupt lobsided court because today politics plays out in our legal system too. It sucks don't it? Where are all of the patriots? The fact is that America is in a constant state of election campaigning and has been since 1865. This means that Electioneering has become an embedded industry in the U.S. economy. Alito, along with Thomas and Kavanaugh, has set a precedent for not respecting precedent in the law. This is an interesting new development in the dynamics of the bench of the Supreme Court which used to observe settled law as settled law.

You don't seem to understand it doesn't matter what laws the PEOPLE vote for -- such as Obamacare -- the corrupt justices can strike it down unilaterally and there is no recourse or remedy. Dems could win 2024 in a landslide and pass a law enshrining abortion protections into federal law and the same corrupt judges will just strike the new law down and there's nothing to do about it. This court is a disgrace and must be dealt with.
