I know what you mean. The interruption felt awful. I don't think it was her per say, they do run on a set amount of time. I do wish they just let him finish though. This man is a hero, he was the one who notified the government that foreign countries have been buying our farm land in outstanding numbers near are military bases.
I did the math. Mr. Boyd said 60k applicants with 45k applicants now being compensated. This equates to $33,333 an applicant if distributed evenly. This amount for 4decades of pushback is not enough. We need to see more black applicants approved regularly for this type of work moving forward but I thank God we got this.

I am the daughter of a black farmer. My father and mother have both passed away. I am so thankful to GOD and those leaders who worked so hard to make this happen for our black (and people of color) farmers! These farmers deserve all they can get for the cruelty and lack of support they received by bigoted individuals. These individuals should be held accountable for what they have done. Many of these farmers had to leave their farms and go to large cities in order to feed their families and maintain their farms. This is exactly what my Daddy had to do!!! My Daddy had to go to New York and get a job so we could survive. I am very thankful to Mama and Daddy for the sacrifices they made to help their children lead successful and worthwhile lives.

Yes so true. I'm originally from the North. Never lived on a farm or know anything ab't it. Although, my elder relatives did during the latter part of the 19th century and the beginning of this new century were farmers in one way or another. For the first time ever in my life I've had the chance to go to Iowa. Had a chance encounter with somebody who came from a long line of farmers who told me that he just recently had to get out of that business because of all the push-back from the government, lack of funding and (just like this video has explained many farmers both black and white) have been pushed out of the industry their land. In many cases it was land that has been taken from them and turned into other types of activity. In fact just to kind of drive home the lesson and in turn teach me a northerner about this situation my airport driver made it a point to, literally drive me by a section of farmland that had been stripped and mowed clean down, to nothing but sod. It was no longer fallow. Was no longer fertile. Wasn't even even green anymore. The section of farmland shown to me, was this horrendous, almost white-beige color. With practically tears in his eyes he said, "Do you see? Do you see that? He said, "Now tell me.... tell me what's a farmer supposed to do with a section of their land carved out and scraped down to nothing like that? Do you think anyone can do anything with that anymore? He said, "I'm so mad. I'm so angry".

Thank you for never giving up, holding the line and standing up for what is correct and just. I am proud of you all. I'm not a farmer, but I have been friends with many farmers and have helped at times I was able to on a few farms over the years. Some of the toughest, hardest working and absolutely caring about the community people I have ever met. People take your places; the struggle is not over.

Litigation against the USDA for discrimination against African American farmers began in August 1997 with two suits brought by black farmers: Pigford v. Glickman and Brewington v. Glickman. In 1910, Black farmers owned 16 million acres of farmland in the U.S. Today, they own just 2.9 million acres and comprise less than 5 percent of the agriculture workforce.

This man is a hero, he was the one who notified the government that foreign countries have been buying our farm land in outstanding numbers near are military bases.
I did the math. Mr. Boyd said 60k applicants with 45k applicants now being compensated. This equates to $33,333 an applicant if distributed evenly. This amount for 4decades of pushback is not enough. We need to see more black applicants approved regularly for this type of work moving forward but I thank God we got this.

I am the daughter of a black farmer. My father and mother have both passed away. I am so thankful to GOD and those leaders who worked so hard to make this happen for our black (and people of color) farmers! These farmers deserve all they can get for the cruelty and lack of support they received by bigoted individuals. These individuals should be held accountable for what they have done. Many of these farmers had to leave their farms and go to large cities in order to feed their families and maintain their farms. This is exactly what my Daddy had to do!!! My Daddy had to go to New York and get a job so we could survive. I am very thankful to Mama and Daddy for the sacrifices they made to help their children lead successful and worthwhile lives.

The Amish have the best quality food and healthiest communities because they stay clear of the government and the regulations of having to put certain things in the food or in the livestock. Yes so true. I'm originally from the North. Never lived on a farm or know anything ab't it. Although, my elder relatives did during the latter part of the 19th century and the beginning of this new century were farmers in one way or another.
For the first time ever in my life I've had the chance to go to Iowa. Had a chance encounter with somebody who came from a long line of farmers who told me that he just recently had to get out of that business because of all the push-back from the government, lack of funding and (just like this video has explained many farmers both black and white) have been pushed out of the industry their land. In many cases it was land that has been taken from them and turned into other types of activity. In fact just to kind of drive home the lesson and in turn teach me a northerner about this situation my airport driver made it a point to, literally drive me by a section of farmland that had been stripped and mowed clean down, to nothing but sod. It was no longer fallow. Was no longer fertile. Wasn't even even green anymore. The section of farmland shown to me, was this horrendous, almost white-beige color.

He said, "Now tell me.... tell me what's a farmer supposed to do with a section of their land carved out and scraped down to nothing like that? Do you think anyone can do anything with that anymore? He said, "I'm so mad. I'm so angry".
@@gabbycarter965 I’m not sure how much it is really that bad for the environment. I’m not doubting that it is. But I don’t think the solution is the right one for climate change. The Covid solution of masks and lockdowns and closing businesses and keeping kids out of school was worse than the problem itself. I have a feeling the climate change agenda that the UN is pushing is going to be worse than cow farts for humans.
Iowa doesn't grow food, they grow ethanol. Grass fed cattle is where the money's at, and can be done sustainably.

This is very true, but it seems that there could be nefarious reasons. so the USGA basically just bought themselves black farmers who will do anything that the USGA and FDA want now. This is actually more control over black farmers guised as social justice.

It took them 4 decades to help our farmers. If they would have helped them way before an election year when they need their vote many more farmers would have been able to keep their farms. Ridiculous!!

This is a well overdue, partial correction by the Government. John Boyd Jr. and all the farmers who were treated less than, I am with you also. Thank you for never giving up, holding the line and standing up for what is correct and just. I am proud of you all. I'm not a farmer, but I have been friends with many farmers and have helped at times I was able to on a few farms over the years. Some of the toughest, hardest working and absolutely caring about the community people I have ever met. People take your places; the struggle is not over.
