Yep, better off living in Africa huh?
My father and his brother was ran out of farming due to a lot of these same practices. This is in georgia, my family resides in South Carolina. They tried to reach a settlement with the government but ended up giving up due to the endless legal battles & rabbit holes.
I couldn't say it any better than this. If you're black and you have what they want .don't ever give it up never never never give it up. Pay them taxes but hold steady to that property. 😮😮😮😮
I love how they still have their land! Just being passed down from generation to generation. We've came such a long way and still have a ways to go. I dislike how we have been and are still treated. It's sad.

My great grandmother's parents had a farm after Slavery. We still own the land and in the 90's, the trees were sold off the land and the revenue was distributed to each head of the household in the family. I don't know the status of the land now. I'm hoping it's still owned by us.
That is great! My opinion is reconnect, this land is part of your lineage and history! Also listening to Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan has tought me a lesson. I am White AF, his point especially towards white culture is we do not work together ad clans or family units like other cultures. For example, you have a doctor, contractor, dentist, in your family and you all benefit! Share property and cars and other stuff, soon those folks are all millionaires! Pakistanis and Asian family's do it, also through Family and the church Nigerians Christian's especially are prosperous. Just wanted to relay that thought, maybe you can benefit a younger family member also.
Families like to say they own the land but don’t contribute to the property taxes
One thing we all KNOW about these corporations is that they lie, lie, lie. Besides that, the railroad company was "disingenuous" from the very beginning because when the families wouldn't sell, they petitioned the government under eminent domain. #WolvesInSheepsClothing 😑
Thank you Skyler and CBS Reports for producing this Gem
You never gave 40 acres, and a mule, but you did give them the Devil's Punch Bowl in Missippi.
That's shows how the U.S. Government denied African -Americans farmers 🚜 for decades loans 🇺🇲💸. Reparations should be giving to all African -Americans today for past discrimination by the U.S.A. Government and their cronies 🇺🇲💸.
Why should I have to pay a cutt out of my paycheck to pay black people for something I had no involvement in at all what so ever, And my ancestors were brought to the US as slaves aswell I’m just not black. I have to pay just bc I’m not black? That would be modern day racism.
I was born and raised in Sandersville Georgia, one of the richest cities in the state of Georgia and 15 minutes away from Sparta Georgia. The owners of the Sandersville Railroad, ,the Tarbutton family is the richest most influential family in Sandersville. It is said The Tarbuttons have legally stolen acres upon acres of land from black families for decades. "ALLEGEDLY"
That happened ALL over the South!!!
However, a lot of Negros sold land for a few bottles of SHINE!!!

40 acres and a mule refers to our REPARATIONS
My grandmother taught me the history of our family and the important of owning land.
"I feel that no one owes me anything", This is a sad statement. How can you see all that has been stolen and say these words? A debt is owed, if not to you, then at least think of your grandchildren.
Whats your preferential treatment and selection for the past 60 years worth. Or the free housing, healthcare, food, tax credits, and scholarships? The opportunities and jobs that businesses and organizations are required by law to give you even when less qualified. Getting paid for something you never were is ridiculous. Having opportunities not available to me for something I never did is wrong.

This docu serves as another great example to both show the lengths wyt people have & do, go through to hinder Black progression, and to show how they just won't leave Black American people alone. It's like they are obsessed with Black people one way or another! Even still in 2023.
Agreed and the wife is off code sounding like a religious republican. 21:25 her personal feeling is not the talking point of american descendants of slavery. I are owed and need reparations to be made whole. Personally I'm atheist, we need the government to make us whole. We are being taxed and we need to be represented.
@@williebrinson4699 A couple things. I agree with your point about how the wife answered. But my issue with it is, it almost sounds like she's letting wyt people off the hook, even in the midst of them trying to buy & take them off their land. Also, I don't know why you're an atheist, but the Gods of the Holy Scriptures are true. And our people being in this condition and position of being ados is a direct correlation to them and our current condition. And so, we as a whole will not be redeemed with reparations. But change to us, and with us, will happen.

One way to prevent eminent domain is to bury a family member on or land. Burial sites cannot be moved.
Sugarland, Texas will tell you otherwise, The state prison had a cemetery for black convicts only. Hundreds were buried there for over one hundred years. The state forgot to inform the area citizens of the site. It was found due to the expansion of land development. Homes were to be priced at $700,000+ So they exhumed the site and it is business as usual. No respect.
Land is the foundation to build generational wealth and become rooted.

Congratulations to the members of the 19 families. That beautiful. I wish you the best. I will say that letting the oppressor know that you are aware that you're being mistreated is a necessary step for several reasons. Legally, "silence is acquiescence." They'll say that it must not have been THAT bad. The word 'begging' is a dog whistle and is used to shut down the demands of the injured party aka the plaintiff who is seeking redress in the form of monetary payment from a defendant.
