I remember watching this as a kid on VHS. It was so dark it was almost unwatchable.
I guess the detective is informed the suspected killer was caught. So yeah, totally pointless subplot.
Before they caught him, he had killed a nurse at that abandoned building where Robin died years ago. So, they find the body of that nurse and then have an APB on her car which he stole, which was a light blue VW bug and you see it drive past the high school out the window from the principal's office right after Lou gets expelled. Then they find the car later at a shopping center, but then at the Prom they find out that he was caught.
Exactly. Did you know that the soundtrack for this movie was/is extremely hard to find because it was only released in Japan? (At least that what I heard).
Boo hoo… 😒
For any viewers from Toronto, you can see a TTC bus stop in one scene in this movie.
Prom Night 3 is my favorite. "Your mother sews socks in hell, father Carris!"
Nice review! This was probably the most boring horror movie I have seen. I enjoy how your personal experiences are often interwoven for reference; that always adds to the quality of your reviews. Looking forward to reviews of the rest of the series.
Sinister!!! Can't wait for the rest of the series to get a review
Glass might've impaled her, internal bleeding might have made it slow and painful, or she hit her head do hard it killed her. Anything is possible.
I might be remembering incorrectly but I recall after she fell the whole window fell and hit her as well.
This movie was shot in Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada. That's where I live.
I hated that the brother didn't get his revenge on Jamie Lee Curtis boyfriend.
In the opening I always thought it was implied that the falling window pane finished off little Robin after she fell. This movie was made during the slasher craze after Halloween 1978 came out & though it has MANY faults it's always been a fave of mine. It should've been a one & done cause it's the rest of the series that is mind numbingly dumb...including the remake! To each his own.
13:11 That’s why I love this channel .. Jason your *Honest* af 😁
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie.
Gonna watch it tonight. I hadn't watched it in a while. And it's shot like 70's porn.
They look like high school kids about as much as the ones in Teen wolf do lol...the keg party scene alone I'm like is this a high school reunion??
Ridiculous
I saw this one when I first found it on vhs for my collection and I watched it but it was so hard to see, so fucking dark and blurry or some weird effect on the film. IDK but I couldn't keep up haha. Maybe I need to rewatch it through Prime cos it might look better as hell.
Yay!!! I did see your Amytiville!! But I’m glad your feeling better love !!!!!!! Hope you a having a great weekend!!! ❤️❤️💕
"Zero times have I lied on this channel."
A-ha! Another lie!
Kidding. Can't wait for your review of the sequel. :)

Prom Night!
The film is good for what it is, but the director didn’t take full advantage of the plot. They used Jamie Lee as a marketing tool because she was riding high after Halloween came out 2 years prior. Should have been more interaction between the four main characters and better chase scenes, especially with the boy since he was last one alive.
Marvelous
i had to check the film i had because i thought i was watching/owned a different film.people seem to love it(that’s great), i thought this film was boring. i’d say i enjoy The Prowler more. my fav film with Jamie Lee Curtis is: Trading Places. also 1 of my favorite holiday comedies.
Jason don't dance! You had me dying laughing when you simply said it was boring. I don't know why I laughed so hard. This was a decent movie. I never saw the sequels, so I look forward to your series review. The 2008 remake is literally the worst movie I've ever seen.
I agree with you that this movie is pretty flawed and boring at moments.
But in the same time it cements (can you even say that? maybe I should write it perpetuates :D?) few very classic whodunnit slasher tropes, and because of that it's considered a classic I believe.
Williamson took some of them, and Craven executed them more than good in Scream for example.
It's like with When a Strager Calls.
It's a bad movie, it's creators even said they didn't have an idea for a full lenght movie, however it's opening is very good, and very influential, so the movie became a cult classic, even if it's flawed.
I know it's considered a classic but I have never really enjoyed this movie. I haven't seen the sequels but I will check em out after hearing they're better than this one.
Have you seen the movie "The Taking of Deborah Logan"?
5:10 That stupid, maybe.
I enjoy this movie but hate the sequels, especially the 3rd one.
Agreed 😴💤
Have you seen the directors cut? mostly how I watch it these days.
Not sure
Jamie Lee curtis is fantastic in the original. 😀👍
I thought it was good. Why do you think it’s the worst? Because it’s not scary? Who fucking cares if it’s not. I thought the other sequels suck ass because they’re not as dark or serious as the original film. Sometimes I just hate the slasher fandom. 🙄
