Absolutely loved this movie. I'm glad you covered it. I rewatched this movie a few days ago, and enjoy it better each time. I loved the double impalement kill. It reminded me of Friday The 13th Part 2 , which is my favorite horror film. Awesome video, as always. Thank you 😎😎😎😎😎
Hey brother just watched this last night...ive owned this on the arrow release for a long time and finally watched it great film very well shot. Great vid brother hope you are well rock on man! Cheers Dave.
I love this flick, and I've enjoyed almost every Bava film I've ever seen. I've never seen Blood and Black Lace unfortunately, but I have seen most of his films. This is one of my favorite Bava flicks, but others that I love are Kill, Baby Kill, which is actually my favorite gothic horror film of all time, and The Girl Who Knew Too Much, which I personally think is Bava's best film. I, however think that Lisa and the Devil was a terrible film! Great review, and crazy story!
Hey Jason! Awesome, brother, I'm a HUGE fan of Mario Bava! 🔥🙏 Just recently rewatched "Hatchet For the Honeymoon," and have been planning on watching "A Bay of Blood" again, next. You're awesome, bro; infinite thanks for you, my friend. Carlos
Love the life stories! the stalker who stole underwear from my house once showed up after a snow storm one New Year’s Eve when I was sick and home alone. I heard this crunching sound out in the garden and peeped out of the curtains and there in the snow was a set of footprints from the locked gate (he’d climbed a 6ft gate) right up to the backdoor and then came the creepiest slow knock I’ve ever heard and I’ve never been so pleased for my giant scary as fuck 6ft5 dad to return home through the front door to chase the fucker away
This was the template for the modern slasher in my opinion. Maybe arguably not the 1st slasher but definately the template for what was to come. Also i agree, Bava is so underrated. Also sorry to hear about the podcast, i loved it, are you definitely not returning to it Jason?
It is called a bill hook, however I don't think Jason was using a bill hook in part 2, I very well could be wrong, but it always looked to me like it was a plain machete. If I thought it was a bill hook I wouldn't question it, but to me it just looks like a machete 🤷♂️. I'm gonna have to pay more attention next time I watch part 2, cause I literally only watched part 2 day before yesterday, and it was still just looking like a machete to me. I'm gonna have to like pause the film and stare deep into the murder weapon's soul to figure this out lol.
Mario Bava is one of my favourite directors, like so many others, Damiano Damiani comes to mind, the lack of recognition is atrocious (maybe it has to do with the horrid releases of their movies back in the VHS/Beta years). Anyway, couldn't stop laughing throughout your whole review... Brought back memories of a chick I knew, unfortunately for her, Knight in shitty armour I am not and since I was overseas with the CAFs, I couldn't care less about her drama queen shit. One more thing, I think you should do a video about your reasons for leaving the podcast... For some strange reason, the horror "scene/community", who gives a shit, has become so toxic lately that It would be productive if certain things came out into the open, instead of festering as they are... Then again, who gives a shit about what I think? Another great one from you, Cheers.
