  • Kiss Symphony: Alive IV is a 2003 live album from Kiss performing with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (MSO). The arrangements were made by David Campbell, who also conducted the MSO. It is the group's fourth album in the Alive series and first release under Kiss Records and Sanctuary Records. The album featured three of the original members of Kiss (Peter Criss, Paul Stanley, and Gene Simmons). Ace Frehley once again left the band and the concert featured for the first time a replacement musician, Tommy Thayer, dressed as Ace Frehley's "Spaceman".
The members of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra who accompanied Kiss during this performance wore makeup that mimicked the band members. At the same time they also wore tuxedos.

Back in the 70's when KISS was big, everyone thought they'd burn out after a generation. Now they're influencing a 3rd generation of KISS fanatics. Powerful!

and I saw Peter Criss in 96 in the Superdome in New Orleans 97 at the cajundome in Lafayette Louisiana and 99 during the Psycho Circus tour in Nashville and Peter's drumming only got more solid and more technically sound the longer he was with the band.he really put everything he had into getting back to form and you know it first in 96 and 97 it was a little bit rough but that's to be expected. By the end of 97 the original four were tight as they were in the 70s. I mean Peter was the backbone of that band and he lived up to it. And I think also too going from Pearl Drums and I don't think he used a really expensive pearl kit I think it was just like an expert Pro maybe if he used a masterworks or reference kit it would have sounded really good but that's besides the point when he went from Pearl to DW I think that really enhances drummin even more .I think he was really comfortable with DW drums. It was a smart move on his part. And when I saw him in 99 for Psycho Circus that was as tight as I've ever seen the original four. And I've watched a lot of bootlegs from the 70s it reminded me of them when they were on the Destroyer tour. But Peter had evolved into an even better drummer I mean regardless of the breast cancer he was dealing with or the arthritis yeah he played through all that and he probably would have been good in that band till 2010.he put the work in and he was in shape and he was good to go and he could do massive tours.are the old Kiss songs from the 70s to me he could always play better than Eric singer or Eric Carr and he had the voice to that they didn't have. And he had the soul that neither one of them had. There's just something magical about him being the drummer over the other two guys. I mean I enjoy the hell out of eric carr's drumming on the Elder and creatures of the night. And regardless that Peter was using drum triggers didn't make a bit of difference it may not be as loud Or hit the drums as hard as he could like back in the day but he was a solid and is tight is he had ever been.especially that Psycho Circus show which is the best show I've ever seen them do and his drum solo was the most badass solo I've ever seen him do I mean he was on fire that night. It blew my mind him it was like something that Neil Peart would pull out. And he didn't play for just five minutes his drum solo went for almost 10 minutes. Ace was absolutely unbelievable to I mean they were more disciplined and solid in that show than Gene and Paul were.I can honestly say that if there were any mistakes that night they were made by Gene and Paul.honestly think that Peter and Ace had become better musicians than Gene and Paul and they were upstaging them not on purpose! But you know Gene and Paul being ego driven money-grubbing shysters they couldn't have that. They wanted the spotlight clearly on them that's why they got younger guys in the band, so they could be the spectacle . But whatever to each his own and the rest is history and honestly I think Asian Peter better off not in the band cuz they've turned into a shadow of the former band KISS. I call them Vegas kiss W/replacements!mean Gene and Paul should have named this final tour of the crash and burn tou If I was Ace & Peter I'd be glad that I wasn't out there with them on this final tour! My opinion the final tour was the farewell! Farewell to Ace Peter Paul and gene; original kiss/ the only kiss ....you wanted the best and the only way you were going to ever get the best was if you saw kiss with Ace Peter Gene and Paul! Amen.......

Fuckin’ right! I saw them in ‘96 at the Ottawa Corel center. Amazing friggin’ show, like being transported back to ‘77 with more discipline. Awesome setlist too. I saw them on “The Tour” In 2012 with Motley Crue. It was a great show, but Paul’s vocals were getting pretty rough. Gene was great, they played “War Machine!” Tommy and Eric were great, just wish they had their own makeup. They were getting a little cartoonish with Eric’s rocket launcher, etc.. I mean, I think I missed Ace and Peter playing. After seeing Peter play on the Kiss Symphony Alive IV dvd, I see no reason why he couldn’t have been playing in ‘12. Also, Ace was playing awesome and sober at that time. His solo albums have been stellar. Absolutely no reason for Paul and Gene to not do some shows with them then. With all the money they have, they could have paid Peter and Ace well enough to make it worth their time. Don’t get me wrong, I like Eric and Tommy. But if Peter kept playing with them, imagine how much harder and tighter he’d be playing by ‘10. By then Ace was playing like a machine. They could have put out KISS Alive 5, it would have been incredible. I’m sure Ace and Peter would have played a few more ‘80’s tunes to make a great double album. Man, I guess I can dream. Lol.

Eric singer will never be Peter Criss technically maybe a better drummer but his drumming doesn't fit kiss like Peter Chris's does and he doesn't have the soul or the voice that Peter has. And Tommy Thayer just doesn't have anything on Ace. So yeah it's nothing but replacement Vegas Piss, the 2019 Crash and Burn tour!
