    thanks for this! enjoying it! do you use multiple grits on the polinet gauze for finishing the rail bands?

    • @paul_s-eo
      @paul_s-eo  7 месяцев назад

      Hey, thanks for watching! I’m glad you enjoyed it.
      I usually use just one grit of the polinet (120 I believe) and finish with a 220 grit sand paper.
      Nowadays I’ve just been using sandpaper. Doesn’t seem to be an exact science.

    Hey! Good job that’s really amazing, I have some questions about the coat, which kind of resine did u put on the board to do it ?
    Obrigado!

      Thank you 🙏🏽
      I used the fast fuse epoxy resin system from green light surf supply for laminating and the same resin for the hot coat. I hope this helps!

    board looks good ! was that a sealant you sprayed on the board at the end ?

      Thanks mate! Yes, I used the duplicolor automotive clear coat. Mainly to give the pin stripes longevity. Not sure if that’s the best way to do that but I figured I give it a go. Turned out great!

    Great job. I would recommend wearing your mask while cutting the fibreglass too as the fibres get airborne just from the scissors ✂️

      Thanks for the tip! I’ll have to try remembering that for the next time! Gotta give these lungs 🫁 longevity.

    awesome! what size was the original board you stripped down for the blank? always wondered how much extra thickness and length you need to make it work

      Hey thanks! It was from a 5’10 eps blank and started at 3” thick.

    what is the name of the spray gloss you used?

    • @paul_s-eo

      Hey there, I used a dupli-color automotive clearcoat I had left over. I’m not sure if that’s what I was supposed to use vs an acrylic based spray, but that’s what I had and it seems to be holding up fine. Hope this helps.
