    I follow you for a few month’s now and really like your setup and the quality of your video’s (content, lighting and grafics). Let me tell you something about myself and my experiences regarding to your interest in VR (and my interest in your setup).
    I am 62 years of age, got connected with FS4.0 while i was in flightschool for my Pilot license and since then never left FS. I flew single and twin engine aircraft, aerobatic aircraft and helicopters for more then 20 years in real life. At home I had a scratch build B767 cockpit at the attic of my garage but after a while i found that i miss flying several aircraft in FS so i got it away and went back to 3 PC displays with yoke, rudders and throttles. Since then i actively fly 15 aircraft types in FS. My RL flight career is over, so now I fly only FS. When MSFS came out I switched over to VR and I have to say that we can not come closer to real flight immersion then as in VR. I have used 3 VR glasses until now (I started with the Oculus Rift, stepped over quite quickly to the HP Reverb and now for almost 2 years have the Varjo Aero wich is the best of the three (Did not try the new Pimax Chrystal after it came out).
    Your setup is great and I wonder what it will be ,flying with this setup, but I think I have an idea how….I am almost certain it can not beat the VR experience with the Varjo Aero (or Pimax Chrystal). The Sense of hight, the 3D environment flying along clouds, looking around the cockpit and outside the cockpit windows can not be beaten by displays. Now…your displays are fantastic, but i think when I have this setup i will miss the 3D view. My son is a RL Chinook pilot and was over for X-mas, he was flying my Varjo Aero and was amazed of the realism. With VR we miss also something, like your little displays for charts and flightplanning, but there are programs out there like virtual IPads that can display them in the VR environment. Ans also display V-Pilot for flying online at Vatsim. What i want to say with this story is that both systems are fantastic your three display cockpit and my VR glasses and with my experience I ythink the VR environment brings me back to RL flying the most, but I also envy your setup as well…😊
    The Price of the Varjo Aero is recently cut to half, so you might consider this one or the Pimax Chrystal. My advice is you try it in MSFS too in stead of only DCS.
    Regards,
    Ben

    Interesting video as always! would you do a video regarding the difference of using the force feedback systems in xplane and msfs? I am currently owning the brunner yoke and I am planning to buy the rudder pedals also but if the force feedback systems isnt working that realistically in msfs I wont buy them as I only fly in msfs. I also started the sim hobby without VR but now I drive almost 100% in VR.. its very addicting after you have got it to work as you want, buy yourself a quest3 to begin with, and dont forget to buy a motion sensor compensator since you got a motion platform. As for the logitech switch panel, it works better with spad.next as all other logitech panels do and the same is for the honeycomb hardwares, spad.next is a gift from God to simmers, especially if you fly multiply planes. Thanks again for contribuiting to the hobby! Merry christmas!!

    I’ve watched most of your videos. Very useful and well done! I’m in an existential crisis trying to decide on which sim rig to purchase. As a pilot IRL, realism is important to me. It looks to me like the mounting point for a yoke on the Flight Sim Pro is too high. On the plane I fly, the yoke shaft is about 25 inches from the floor. I’ve watched many RUclips video on this rig and everyone’s yoke looks too high… except for yours. Did you modify anything to either make your seat higher or the yoke lower? Sorry if this seems a silly question.

    • @g-locmedia
      @g-locmedia  12 дней назад

      You're the only person that's ever noticed my yoke height lol. Yes many people choose to run it higher, I'm guessing it just comes from the general view that's it should be desk height. The flight Sim pro will allow you to get it pretty low but where you see I have it is right at the end of the Hight travel and is like you say a more realistic position. Hope that helps.

I am just starting my journey and evaluating whether I can do a triple 4K TV build. I see so much conflicting information that it is/isn't possible in MSFS - things like image distortion on the side screens etc. How does it work for aircraft with overhead panels ... do you just tilt the whole view up? I have so many questions it's hard to get started on a project this size but the results look fantastic!

      I only Fly VFR aircraft so i have most of my buttons mapped to devices and don't need to look up. If I did want to look up If look at introducing a Tobii Eye Tracker or trackIR. There's also VR which I don't use but many people swear by it. Only thing is the discomfort level and the disconnect between your physical controls and what you can see in the VR environment. There is no issues with distortion on triple screen now as MSFS support true triple screen and everything can be adjusted to suit. Any other questions reach out.

    Also, are you in Australia? I only ask as it is a consideration regarding what sim rig to buy. I am in Brisbane and NLR is easy to aquire from Pagnian on the Gold Coast. I considered a separate rig for driving but room for two sim rigs plus my desk in the study is an issue. Also, not sure how hard it would be for 1 pc to be connected to desktop monitor and 2 sim rigs. Alternatively on the more high end side the Varjo Aero (for a long time touted as the BEST PCVR headset, is now only $2000 AUD. considering the price tag on the Brunner gear I think that's probably more appropriate than the HP's sub $1k, but as a HP Reverb G2 user I'm still blown away by how good it is for the price, and how well it runs in DCS on my 3080.

    Motion platforms are for people who like amusement park rides! Ton of money, time, work, maintenance, tweaking/ tuning all to end up right back where you started: UNREALISTIC forces. Your set up is a good example, you can see the discontinuity between your instrument panel and the in sim virtual panel. Motion platforms do not produce realistic forces, Just sudo movement. This is true for the multimillion dollar rigs the pros and military use. Always remember a coordinated turn has no lateral g forces just an increased feel of more gravity so why tilt (roll) the platform in a coordinated turn?

    • @g-locmedia
      @g-locmedia  4 месяца назад

      I have to disagree some of those points. First one, I don't like amusement parks and I love motion platforms. Secondly, the one I have is more or less plug and play, it does cost a ton of money though! Finally, I think you might be missing the point a little. Motion platforms are not designed to recreate realistic movements. They are designed to create a deeper level of immersion and enjoyment. As far as pulling more G's on a co-ordinated turn (which you are right) I think were a few years away from harnessing gravity as a tool to re-create this, so for now we just have to enjoy what we do have.

    do the screens reflect the movement of your motion base? It seems like it doesnt, so that would confuse me.

      No they don’t. That mould need some motion compensation software. It honestly doesn’t bother me at all but I can see why that might be an issue for some.

      Hard to beat for the price. I have two of their big servo twin kits, which I have fitted to all metal internal yoke and stick setups, which to be honest I am still tuning (quite a complex setup). ruclips.net/user/shortspDfqp2lq-_k
