I get connor's preference tho. Most of jrpgs are basically just visual novels with a core gameplay slapped to the side. I hate running around an area talking to 10 different npcs just to advance the story, and unless I do that I have no clue wtf is happening. And even then, it doesn't even do shit to the gameplay itself. Best you get are one off parts when an npc becomes unavailable due to the story, or a mechanic is temporarily introduced/removed. At that point I'd honestly just watch the anime or read the LN.

I feel like story based jrpgs just has too much dialogue, and some sections were you have to sit through 15-20 mins of texts by talking to 10 different npcs, just to get an idea of the plot without it being actually integrated into the game itself or through some sort of cutscene. Here, there are some parts that'll just end your current playthrough if you weren't paying attention to what the npc was saying, which makes actually reading what they are talking about important to the actual game itself instead of just purely for the lore.

That's why Leshy's part has you the most immersed but the game balance can be easily broken, the Robot's part has the most game mechanics and balance but the dude completely doesn't care about setting a tone or story, Magnificus's final battle is completely shallow in terms of gameplay if you really dissect it but it looks and sounds cool af.

This game's story and ARG are actualy apart of an over arching storyline / ARG following gamefuna. The publishers other games are definitely worth a play. They made Pony Island, a game where you play as a pony and go through running levels (at first) and The Hex, a game where you have to find the murderer in a old bar & hotel in a world akin to the world of wreak it ralph (characters leaving their games and visiting others.) Gamefuna is mentioned in all of these, and their involvement is quite direct at times.
I highly suggest watching that the publisher brings out in the future, chances are that they make another game to add to the the story of Gamefuna

the ARG for this game is crazy too. the creator really hid disks out in the world, and theres secret codes in the game, like the holes on leshys roof are a number. you get so much lore about the game in the OLD_DATA. its a rabbit hole.

This is my favorite game ever made. Finished it in 2 days and binged the hell out of it. Had so much fun with the first Act that I played a few extra runs purposely not removing the eye to progress. Was a blast but wasn't difficult. Kasey's mod is much better if you are looking for a challenge.

The caged wolf can also be uncaged if the prospector hits it with his pick.. no gold, just a wolf. That's how I did it.
Mantis cannot give you a pelt from the trapper, as a boss. Killing traps with the mantis lets you spring the trap and he won't die.

Most fun I had was creating a infinite loop with the scribe of the dead deck. Got the necromancer, bone lord and the other rare bone card. Got infinite damage and you could farm infinite teeth through the training dummy. I wiped out my deck completely to create a deck of four necros, four lords and four of the other rare, past that I had the four skeletons and the bone farmer just to give me the first bones needed to drop necro in the first place. It was super time consuming to go to ridiculous levels but I created a 999/999 lord lol

25:40 well... in reality - no. Water would damage it. And ARG for this game prove that (they put floppy in some place and water in dirt damage it so it become unreadable. That was no end for ARG because authors prepare another floppy for that and give it)
