Boy we sure could use Seabiscuit in a time like this!!!!
Secretariat is my all time favorite and respect the most but I do appreciate & respect the talent of another horse when I see it. The Buiscut was a Mighty horse!
Seabiscuit has always been an inspiration to those in life that know his story. He knew what he was doing all along. He found a small group of people who needed fixing and needed love and returned the favor. I thank God for animals.
I had a thoroughbred in 1992, I will NOT tell you her name (filly) She was a 4 year old that one of my friend's owned. He was getting out of the business, retiring to Arizona. So I bought her for $4,000 out of his barn. She lost her first five races for me. I put her in an $8,000 claiming race. She won going away on a Thursday night in the rain! And she won her next 9 out of 11 races!! I did breed her to a fine stallion; but my circumstances led me to sell her and the breeding rights to her in 1997. I see now that the colt she had- went onto win over $1.5 million. Reminds me of Seabiscuit!
This horse was a misfit... quirky and lovable... like me.. outcasts... never underestimate us...
I have the book “Seabiscuit.” By Laura Hillenbrand. Very interesting how the owner, trainer and jockey came together. After Red Pollard shattered his leg and was in hospital, he told George Woolf how to ride Seabiscuit in the match race with War Admiral. Woolf split the purse with Pollard.
I’ve never understood why Seabiscuit was considered sort of ugly. While it was true that he was built unconventionally for a racing TB, instead more compact, perhaps more like a quarter horse. Maybe in another lifetime he would have been a champion cutting horse or barrel racing horse haha. But I think he was beautifully proportioned. Every part of his body seemed to flow perfectly from one part to another. And what a magnificently long arched neck and a very strong handsome head!
He came along when people need to believe in something. He was the every man's horse. He wasn't flashy but he had the heart, just needed a chance to show his stuff.
My mother visited the Ridgewood Ranch and met Sea Biscuit, and even had the opportunity to feed this great horse. She was amazed at how small he was. This was one of her favorite memories.
Seabiscuit, if Perseverance was a horse.
Wow! Great documentary!
Tears in my eyes every time I watch with admiration and humility the determination of this magnificent horse
America needs Seabiscuit now!
I love seabiscuit and all his connections and for him to beat a triple crown winner just proves how good he was, the magic was overcoming an injury and winning a top handicap under top weight.
Seabiscuit you touched my life. You created greatness in all you encountered.
I also have the book and have LOVED His Story. I'm an Australian racing fan. We LOVE STORIES like this. What A GREAT CHAMPION
What a beautiful tribute ❤️
As an Australian it is fantastic to know that there is a connection between our champion horse Phar Lap and your champion Seabiscuit.
I would so love to be able to travel back in time...to see Seabiscuit race against and defeat War Admiral. Oh, what a thing that would have been to see....an experience of a lifetime, for sure! RIP, sweet and brave Seabiscuit, and RIP, Mr George Wolf. You were the greatest jockey of all time, sir.
Seabiscuit. A legend, an exceptional athlete
