Thank you for those tips! I have been trying to get better using t.o.o.l. and these tips will help. I do have a question about using t.o.o.l. How do you rotate an object such as a stack of books. How do you move them once they've been rotated, without them snapping back to their original position?
thanks for watching! I would move the table/shelf away, place the books where I want them to go first, then rotate. make sure you have sims 3 camera on, click and hold the object, and drag your mouse to freely rotate. if you move them again they will snap back into a slot though. hope that helps!
So every time I try to do this the objects goes back down to the floor when I try to move it. Move objects is on and I'm holding down alt. What am I doing wrong?
Does this happen for small clutter items? I'm not too sure about that one, I know some items do tend to snap to the floor/shelf even when raised up though.

When I click on 'content' the only two things that show up are 'unlocked' and 'purchased', I don't have all the others like 'Hide Maxis', 'Live Edit' and the'Costum Content', where can I find this and why isn't it showing up?
If you put a build on the gallery that you used the TOOL mod with, will the objects you used it on still show up the way I put them for anyone that may download my build, even if they don’t have the TOOL mod? (Hopefully that makes sense lol)
Oh also (assuming you have the BetterBuildBuy mod as well), do you know why every time I mark items as “favorites” in build mode, ALL my favorited items end up unmarked the next time I log onto my game? It’s so frustrating, but maybe I’m doing something wrong?
So this mod only seems to be half working for me, I'm hoping someone can help. Red shelf is in game, and it's allowing me to use it, but if I delete the red shelf, it deletes everything on the surface I've placed them on(counters, tables). Surface clutter also snaps and doesnt move freely. Shelves will not stop snapping regardless of the mod, I've tried different shelves and bookcases. Hitting 9 moves my camera as well, and ctrl+9 does nothing. I downloaded the one that hides when walls are down. I have the bb move objects on. Do I have to have the TOOL mod for this to work? I just want to clutter. 😭
You don't need TOOL. You need to drag items off the red shelf and into place -- or make the red shelf invisible with the other swatch. Drag (holding alt key) and leave the items in mid-air then place your bookshelf back in place. Not sure about the ctrl+9 sorry!
This is late but the reason your camera moves when hitting the 9 key is that 5-9 are keys are used to save camera positions. So you may have accidentally saved a position by pressing the 9 key im guessing? Hope this helps
