I ended up contracted Firestone Direct that is installing the Sam Platinum battery and resetting the system for $225 so thought that might be easier that doing all the work detailed in thus video, especially since I don't have a scan tool. Still a great video for those who do.
JVFIX - Thank you for the tremendous video! You made a "mysterious" procedure look very easy. I own a 2016 LR4 HSE and am getting an indication of my aux battery going bad. So, I will probably be replacing it in the very near future.
Can you tell me which Scan Tool you are using? I really liked the screen info and the way you were able to maneuver around it so easily. The information seemed very clear and easy to understand. Hi could you advice what this battery is for?
Is it any other reason other than the start stop?
it's mainly for the electronics in the car. since these types of cars have many modules that need to consume electricity all the time but slowly that's why it uses a secondary battery to keep the car modules alive.
There is a hose/line on the right side that is tucked away. Shouldn't that be connected to the battery? If we don't need it, do you know what it is for? It is a black like with the red end.
that hose is actually just in case the battery leaks out some acid but this battery i guess it did not have a hole to put it in, the original ones do have the hole.
Hi Master ! I have a question : I had a same probleme ! My Start-stop battery was very low ! and I change it like you. And my start-stop option was ok . but now 2 month later I have again this light '' ECO OFF not available ''' . Should I change my start-stop battery again ?
it could be defective it happens, remove it and check it and if it's ok you will need a scanner to diagnose the problem

i mainly use the autel IM608 for everything it is because i use it pretty much every day. but there are cheaper versions of the same scanner online

usually check engine light comes on and also the center display cannot turn on sometimes

that battery is to keep the electronics alive since this car has over 60 modules it needs that battery to keep the memory alive on all of them

no it won't cause to do that I believe your light bulb is failing or has a loose connection
Cant we recharge and use the old battery instead ?
you can try but 90% of the time it goes bad.

I changed the main battery and that warning still come on when I turn off the car or before start the car
u will need a scanner to reset the counter for that battery. sorry is just the way these cars are designed
it usually doesn't say that is low on volts or anything the only way to check it is to disconnect both negative and positive and use a voltmeter or the tool I used in the video to confirm if the battery is good or not.

I got them at autozone and the size is 1/2 inch.

Why not use a 100% compatible battery? Videos like this encourage bad workshop practice.
I gave them the option but we had to get it order and they wanted the car the same day.
If you replace this more than once you would know that this "100% compatible battery" actually is very hard to come by cause it is a UK market battery and only Land Rover have them and they would charge $300 to $400 usd a peice before labor. If the dealer dont have it in stock it normally wait 4 weeks to get one now these day. In the US we can get the same battery, it is a common YTX14 battery for motor cycle which normally runs 40 to 60 bucks on Amazon but just not the connector like that, you can't even get a right adaptor for it. This guy actually did a pretty good job and save me time to wait.
