    Sir William McAlpine - Thank you sir, for all you did for many heritage railways and the preservation of steam locomotives like Flying Scotsman. RIP - 12th January 1932 - 4th March 2018

    He truly understood not just what steam meant for his generation and the generation below, but what it would mean for many generations to come. Steam has a fascination to it that shall never be quelled and we have Sir William McAlpine to thank for preserving it for the future and keeping Scotsman running. RIP

    that was brilliant I will come and visit soon for another taster course plus I would love to join the railway and help keep it running
