She’s basically calling her makeup cheap since there’s a difference between drugstore makeup (Walgreens, CVS) and designer makeup (usually significantly more expensive and better quality)
The level of comedy on this show is unparalleled. I can’t stop laughing even after watching it for the 100th time.
I know... when 2 and half was still 2 and half men (with Charlie, no offence to the other guy whatever his name is)
I grew up watching this and friends as well, but two and half man I just cant stop, I mean I dont watch tv anymore but the show is the best one for me.
Well then I'm afraid you haven't watched a lot of good comedy my friend. Two and a half men had it's moments but Chuck Lorre cannot produce comedic brilliance with his shallow one premise shows with cheap payoffs. Lorre has the worst best shows on TV, which range from great to watchable to just plain awful (think TBBT after season 6). He drags the plot on and on till he milks every last bit out of the world. Look at Seinfeld or Curb your enthusiasm in comparison. Jerry Seinfeld refused a 100 million dollars from NBC for a 10th season because he knew he couldn't maintain the same level of quality and wanted to go out at a high. Chuck Lorre is planning on bringing two and a half men back after the disaster that was season 11 and 12 and Walden Schmidt.

The look on Berta's face in priceless. The gal they got to play Lydia and mimick Evelyn's mannerisms is absolutely amazing.
The best part of that scene was right afterwards:

The writing for Berta was genius; The character was acted perfectly.
Such brilliant writing. DAMN! I enjoyed the Lydia character. She brought "smarmy" to a whole new level. Only Evelyn could out-smarm her.

The best part of this is Charlie's facial expressions between Lydia and Evelyn. Priceless for sure
I understand the writers tried to make Evelyn Harper look like a narcissistic monster but honestly, I think she was someone who had quite the experience in life, knew her limitations and was not offended by anyone not liking her. She was a street smart woman and worked her way up in life. In quite a few instances, her presence did help in rescuing Charlie and Alan when their relationships were going the toxic ways. She was able to fuse it when the cracks became apparent.
What is even interesting is that while Charlie and Alan were living life in the extremes, Evelyn learnt the knack of balancing herself early and the intelligence to move on from failed relationships. She would not play the victim card. She was in a way disappointed in the way her kids could not handle themselves in life. Neither of them was street smart. Charlie had luck, Alan had Charlie. Neither of them exercised personal agency or responsible care Of themselves in their lives.
