Ooohhhhh My G............. So complex to play (except for these two world-class musicians), and yet so simple to listen to for us. I love this piece of music. Just brilliant ! Please, give us more sessions like this.
I do have her three solo disks as a leader, and three with Kio-Sen (Kiyomi Otaka is also great). I will keep buying Senri's disks as long as she keeps putting them out.
The child prodigy - her genius flowers - what an extraordinary gift - and a fine composition that showcases that talent. And. Some very fine guitar. Thanks.
Senri, you are such a professional!!! Seriously, many drummers claim they are professional but you really are. I don't understand how you remember all these complicated parts, arrangements and rhythms and nail it so effortlessly every time! Wow... I love watching you play! And this guitar player? Omg! He was out of this world!

I have known her since her 2nd album "Buena Vista" and I composed one of her most popular songs "Onyx" She is truly a world class drummer in a body of a tiny girl. Thanks for the comment and please keep supporting her and it will be great if you can subscribe to my channel!
Every time I think I have seen Senri's best video, I find something like this to blow my mind all over again. Drummers (and I was once one) always like to argue about who is best... and I don't know if there is an answer to that question. But Senri is definitely on the short list and for me, the combination of power and musicality she displays is one of the most astonishing things I have ever seen. The guitar is impressive too. I would really like to see the sheet music for this and get some clue what time signature they are playing in.
@@kaytamatsuno I saw that heading at the start of the video. I have been trying to count along but clearly my ear isn't nearly as developed as you guys. I appreciate how, despite the odd time signature, it's still very listenable. Really great work.

SENRI - san , as usual perfect . It 's a pity that the video doesn't focus on the bassist instead of the guitarist in a master piece where the real challenge comes from those 2 . As a bassist I will never have enough of Senri's work .
Thanks! The reason why the bassist isn't in the focus is that I (Kay-Ta Matsuno/guitar player) am playing Bass as well as keyboard and everything else except drums. ruclips.net/video/dLlMgMge5Ns/видео.html I have known Senri since her 2nd album which I wrote 2 songs for her.
I guessed so . Actually last year I was ready to hire Senri san for my last project in japan....when this bloody covid broke down all my plans ....whilst the percussionists in thailand (where my studio is) are quite good I can 't find a drummer like her . You know why ? She is the only japanese drummer whose patterns remind me sometimes those of traditional taiko.Anyway you 2 are doing a great team work . Congrats!
To be honest, I somehow stumbled over Senris videos once and since then I'm addicted. ... And then I got this here in my list. Man, you both together are dope!
A lot of folks first introduction to Senri is her Jazz/Rock Fusion stuff (most of Kiyo*Sen, her own project, is that). And I would hazzard a guess that most of her fans are mostly into that. But I have to say, I’ve always been super impressed by her versatility. Her stuff that is purer Jazz is also super super good... My favorite mix list with her wanders back and forth between both just because it’s fun to hear all the contrasts.
Jay Carr Senri is most definitely a phenom and amazing at soloing but if I have a critique of her is that she’s too chopsy and has a very weak concept of pocket and groove. She doesn’t know how to play with space well. She is too in a hurry to throw in fills. Not impressed with her in this area. Here is the example of what I mean. I can’t see her grooving and playing with space like this...ruclips.net/video/PmtIGMpapOI/видео.html /ruclips.net/video/EcAa1GgKjeM/видео.html /ruclips.net/video/wiUwe1k9HLo/видео.html These guys have all the chops you could possible think of but they can just sit in the pocket and groove.

@@SmartrMelons No worries! Actually "See you ~" which is composed by George Nishigomi is 17/8.
