I feel like they really downgraded this song from it's original Yakuza 4 and 5 releases. Like, listen to the Yakuza 5 version (the best one) and listen to this. You hear a lot less instruments and emotions in the Infinife Wealth version. Idk why they did that, I think it sounded better back then. Can someone who's good with music explain what exactly they did?
Yeah the mix just seems way worse. The backing track is significantly quieter and more compressed (so less dynamics / difference in volume between the highs and lows). No clue why they did it. Seems like Yakuza 4 MGK is comparable to IW's version, so maybe they just used that version.
My guess is that the more they reuse the karaoke music the more it decompresses for each game. Notice how Ichiban's backing vocals in Judgement: Shinpan in Infinite Wealth sounds as if it was inserted into the music, rather than blending in with the instruments and such
