Awesomeness!!! I want to build a giant sized papasan swing that can fit multiple people. And of course a traditional rope swing like this too! Love love love!!!
Hey Ben, Waldo used Samson Velocity rope with a spice at each end. That's a tree climbing line for arborists. But any climbing rope or static rope with a thickness between 8mm to 16mm will suffice!
There is a much easier way! Use a fly-fishing reel with some thin paracord on it to chuck over a high branch and then pull up a slackline - or two connected for a really long arc. Tie off one end and attached a swing by carabiner to the other and you are in business in c. 3min...
Best job is to find a tree climber, or yourself if you're able to set the line from the tree where they are doing an eye level visual inspection then when you're happy get swinging. A proper big arc tree swing is hard to rival for a bit of cheap fun. Yes
Ha. I'm a tree surgeon and I thought I was heading nowhere with this video, but when you jumped on and went for a swing I got genuinely excited.
Seems like such a nice chap. Learnt something new, thanks.
Yup thanks bro I’m in slow low on a family vacation and I got 100’ rope and what I did so far was trash this is definitely what I needed thanks chap
Great production and story arch! The channel deservers way more subs!
Thanks Ivan!
I remember being a little kid playing on a huge swing my sister’s friend had, I never wanted to get off because the rope was extremely long

I always tie a slipknot around a bottle of water, but that's just what I've found works good for a weight
More videos like this please!
This was really helpful, thanks
Thanks Mate!
please - what spec is your rope? i know nothing about climbing but a 20-30m coil of something like this seems to be a good thing to have to hand

There’s a simpler way. Use a roll of tape. Tie a knot and wing it around in a circle and launch it over the branch
