One thing I’ve learned from Ryan over the years is no matter how hard you try sometimes you just can’t influence neighbors to take better care of their yard...
My neighbor pays a service to treat his lawn, ignores it for weeks, then pays some local kid to mow it short and leave the thatch on top to suffocate the lawn. Somehow the lawn is still alive but walking past it every day just makes me sad.
@@Tomekkplk Hi there, I only meant that as a complement to Ryan. I’d like to think he’s one of the best in the game and keeping up to him as a neighbor would be crazy, but probably a lot of fun. Ryan, I live in Oregon and I’ve been watching your channel for I believe over a year now. I completely renovated my lawn, seeded it with 100% perennial ryegrass and it looks Amazing! To top it off (and destroy the neighbor) I added some iron to darken it and bought a striping kit for my mower. I never knew where to get started or how when it came to lawn care. So I just wanted to say Thanks because you’ve helped guide this process for me and now I’m staying consistent with it and learning a ton along the way! Keep it up man! Thanks for the videos!

Very nice presentation. Whenever I need precise applications, I always use indicator / marker dyes (such as Turf Mark or similar) in my mixes. Most are blue in color and water soluble. Even if you get a bit on adjacent hardscape, it will disappear quickly.
I once spilled a whole bottle in my truck and also had one tip over in my garage. The floor is still blue and I don't use it anymore because it stains everything haha
Hi Ryan. I need advice. I fertilized 3 weeks ago and 3 days ago, we got 2.5 inches of rain. This week will be in the 70s with showers expected 3 to 4 times. Can I fertilize again today? I would wait, but week after next is supposed to be in the mid to high 80s. I apologize if this sounds like a common core math problem, but I wanted to give you all the info! Thanks for all you do!
Who do you use for your grass seed? I have a new construction going on in the country side of Kentucky. I have a 5 acre lot i want to get started on rye. About 1 acre is the construction site with nothing but sod and soil in place. Going to cover today with straw and try to plant later in the fall with the main seed population.
Google something like EZ-FLO and it may be what your looking for, or at least give you an idea. You can probably DIY something to fit your needs from parts from a big box store. But that's the first idea that comes to mind. I like where your head is at. Work smarter, not harder.
Yesterday I was looking at my lawn and thought it was a great consistent green, then I took a picture on my phone of the irises that just popped their blooms. Later I looked at the picture and was so surprised at the grass in the background showing up with many light and dark areas. Could sorta tell that some areas got more fertilizer than others from the picture, but just looking with eyes you couldn't see it. The polarized glasses suggestion I'm going to follow next time.
I pay $299 for 6 treatments of true green and $120 for aeration and overseeding in the fall. But been following lots of Ryan’s knowledge and things are getting better until I feel comfortable to cut all these services and I take over completely
Great video, as usual! I have started a spoon feeding experiment with a specific section of my lawn where I apply YM Spoon Juice once per week and I can also attest to the fact that I have seen a more steady and consistent green tone to the lawn for extended periods of time. The other main section of my lawn is fertilized primarily with granular products, and I do feel like I get a couple good weeks of great color and it starts to fade a bit between apps.
Thoughts on just using a liquid method for your lawn instead of granular? Backyard makes it tricky with the dogs and it’s a major pain to try and block off sections.
Another great video! Quick question Ryan I have a new KBG lawn and I’m mowing it at 2 1/2” with an Ex-Mark zero turn and the grass is matting under the tire tracks. I’m mowing every other day because it’s growing so fast. Any suggestions to take care of the turf better?

Hello Ryan! Just wondering what kind of landscaping plants do you have around? Watching your videos I've improved my lawn dramatically but now I feel like its time to add other colors. I would love to hear your thoughts on this. Thanks
Hi Ryan. This question is a little off topic. Would you recommend a Time Master for a property that has hills? I have a John Deere 1025R with a 60 inch belly mount mower. I'm not really happy with the cut quality on the hills. I find it also has a tendency to scalp the landscape even with the deck all the way up and on the highest setting. I'm debating between getting a machine that is just mower, and not a multi tool like the 1025R, or just getting a Time Master for the hills. I would be interested to hear what you think of the Time Master on hilled landscape.
