Some tough digging ! But Jason never gives up :) Good to have some idea what your doin so your able to use it again 👍, Yes we have to watch the sun & learn the best line to clear what you need to take advantage of mother nature, Take care work safe"
The flower is an aster, some greek goddess cried and the aster flowers grew from her tears, way more interesting then fixing the tractor or solar stuff lol Love you guys take care😊❤🌱
We have those wild flowers here also, they are pretty. There are a few different options for solar. The first being the expensive way with all the panels and batteries mounted on the roof or a panel lean-too. The second being a similar set up only smaller and box store bought, or Amazon. And the third, which I like, is multiple bluetti inverters and a solar panel for each one. Maybe three bluettis and three panels. No white stuff this year haha
We just want to have the panels low enough that we won't be struggling to clean the white stuff off! But lower to the ground means less sun! We'll figure it out eventually! We have some stuff on the way!
I’ve always called those flowers Wild asters. My Wild Holm just did a video on their solar power. They took trees down in an earlier video for their solar “farm” .
Great video. I also love the beautiful trees and hate to see them go. Unfortunately necessary sometimes. It’s getting darker here early also. Take care. Catch you in the next one. ❤
Always getting things done. Never a dull moment with you guys. Good job on dropping that tree. I’m back in the UP this weekend but not at the property. I’m In Houghton/Hancock MI. Took a ride up to Copper Harbor today also. Very beautiful scenery up here. Take care for now.
I watched a video on a guy testing solar trackers for his panels and compared to the fixed mount. The outcome from his testing was that while the trackers can hold the sun for longer, when it gets cloudy they go into ‘search mode’ and constantly move looking for the sun. That, and the crazy high cost made it prohibitively expensive for the marginal increase in output. Now, your mileage may vary and it’s gonna be fun doing the research 😊😊
@mattandmouse very cool and makes sense. It might be harder on the system searching for the sun! I think taking trees down is the only option for us right now! Tha is guys! Have a great weekend! ✌️🇨🇦♥️
Great video! Blue dawn for everything, lol solar can be tricky but clearing the trees is a good start, it took us about five years to build it up where we’re not too bad in the winter. We still have to get some panels on each side of the roof so there’s always panels bringing in power. Take care guys and have a great week! 🇨🇦🍁
Glad you guys got that fixed up. That would have made me nervous too! I think the solar panels will be awesome there. Great choice. See you two on the next one!
🤣🤣🤣 like an adorable wee kitty!!! I already named her Diamond. Lol. I'm determined to try to save her. Hope she's ok. No shortage of mice so she can hang out as long as she wants!
Macgyver! Yup, welded a stud to a bearing to pull it out. Destroyed the bearing but it came out way easier. Way to look after your tools and equipment! Cheers.
Solar is all about projected loads using math and time , size accordingly. I don't get the sun on my panels till 9am in summer to 10am in the fall and power all I need , fridge , lights , pumping water , cell booster , tv , charging phone ect on 400w in solar panels, 4 - 6v batteries and a 4000w inverter. From May till Sept/Oct only then shut it all down for the year as the cold affects everything . Planning for year round use is out of my price range using solar :)
We'll get my son to do the math.lol But when we are there full time it it obvious we will need to supplement the solar with a little gas generator once in a while. And we're OK with that...for now! We'll just add to it as time and money are available. Thanks my friend! Your input and advice are so appreciated! ✌️🇨🇦♥️
Hey guys, awesome video there’s always something to be done. Awesome fix on the tractor. I have the same generator and man It is overdue for an oil change as well. I’m in the same boat with the solar. I’ve actually changed my house build location just because of all the trees. Looking forward to seeing you mill them up have a great weekend
Hi Loretta and Jason! We understand how you feel about the trees, but sometimes you have to do what you have to do. A stray cat!? Wow all the way out there! We see them here, still have no idea where they came from lol. Good luck catching the cat. Hope you two have a great week.
I don't really want to catch her but I definitely want her to feel comfortable with coming around and hanging out. I want her to be safe and warm but I will not force her to stay. Sounds like she is quite content being solitary from what my neighbours say. But if she starts getting more comfortable we will certainly welcome her into our home! Yes, trees do need to come down! We will make the most of them. Thanks so much Paula and Jason! Cheers!
@PandJsHomesteadAdventure Jason is worried if we leave food that will attract the bears too close to the cabin. I think this little girl loves catching mice. We have plenty of those and she must be eating because she seems to be thriving. I wonder if someone dumped her. 😞 Sure hope not.
Hey guys great video! Generator noise bugs me too. We aren’t ready to plan our solar yet, I get so overwhelmed thinking about it. If our permanent house was closer on the horizon we’d probably just put in the electrical. Unfortunately retirement is still a ways off 😞. Busy busy busy , Dawn detergent is what we use for our dish liquid never thought to use on my sxs , next time lol. I'm not familiar with brands of Solar panels but I would suspect to maximize the sun the ones that track the sun would be best but not sure the cost lol. As for fixed I'd have some facing east or south east for the morning sun and south west for the evening sun, Those old roots on those stumps go all the way to China lol. The little tractor sure makes hard work easier. Jason knows his stuff there's no doubt about it. I had to do some Magiver on my old snow blower , it had a joy stick for controlling the output shoot for throwing snow that kept breaking off the pins and was a pain to get the pins back in. So I took and old crank assembly from an even older snow blower, drilled a few holes got a few clamps and now the joy stick is no longer needed lol. Kenny is an awesome guy. Careful around those big dead trees they're called widow makers for a reason lol. Have a great weekend guys and watch for falling trees.
Hey Garry! Thanks so much for watching. Yeah, we have a lot of widow makers and normally we leave them be. But this one was on our trail so it needed to be taken down! Have a great weekend! ✌️🇨🇦♥️
@mattandmouse yup! Lol. The side to side function was way more confusing for me so I always have to tell myself "down and out" meaning move the joystick out to dump the bucket down.
