    I'm 62 play from 6000yds and an honest 15 handicap; I played last week with my ego fully in check and not going at any flags that weren't center and wide open. I managed to shoot an amazing 78, first time in 20 years I broke 80. The bad part of that is GHIN considered it an 'exceptional round' and took -1 from my last 20 rounds and bumped my handicap from a 15 to a 12 overnight, I blame you and Golf Sidekick. 😂

    You mean to tell me your swing doesn't call for unsolicited advice from strangers on the internet I would have never thought?! 😂Another great one Adam and in a really nice location too. Good reminder to take a step back and remember to enjoy it (good and bad). Also congrats on 50k!

    Adam how are you so consistent with 2-putting!?! You're a great golfer but I think that 2 putting is your best quality.

    Your 5W on hole 11 for 213 yards was beautiful. Set up your ideal number for a wedge and helped you convert the par.
    I watched that hole four times.

    My handicap is trending downwards (from 23 to 16 over last year+). It's nice to see that a single digit handicapper such as yourself messes up as well. It helps me remember that not all our shots should/will be good.

    Seriously appreciate this channel. I tried employing the same approach yesterday for the first time. Sidelined the ego/aspirational side of myself. Shot 8 strokes better, not as a result of practice and a better swing, but how I managed the course. Appreciate the paradigm shift!

    I played the Emerald course a couple years, and it was a fantastic experience. We also stayed at a condo unit that you see along the course throughout the video (although ours was not on the course). Definitely recommend staying there - we had about 14 people total staying in the unit, and everyone enjoyed it.

    Adam: always enjoy your mantra of avoiding the big numbers. Bogey or worse avoidance is more important to dropping you scores/handicap than making birdies. Not that birdies aren't fun, jus not as important as bogey avoidance. If I keep it in front of me and my short game is on, I can break 80. Short game is still king. If you can chip, pitch and putt you will score OK. Look at our recent British Open Champion, Brian Harman his short game, especially his putting was ridiculous. He lapped the field of elite golfers in a major championship and won by a convincing margin. a sharp short game and a hot putter erases a lot of shot making that isn't great. Wishing you all the best on and off the course.
    Paul K.

    Golf cart GPS are nothing but mini billboards. They usually don’t tell you much of anything useful, and (at least places I usually play) they switch from one advertisement to the next, which you have to exit out of constantly to get to the info.

    The thing I love about golf is how hard it is. I've been dealing with a snap hook on my driver (that has never happened before, my miss is usually a fade) and all I had to do was move my hands 2 mm stronger.

    Great content! Love the swing. I actually noticed that my right hand grip strength was way more dominant in terms of clubface angle. I fighted hooks with my shorter irons and felt like I tried everything to fix it. Then I tried locking my RH grip strength to "neutral" and trying every LH grip strength with it, and almost no difference. Then tried locking LH and changing RH strength for a few swings. Making RH weaker (almost same position as you) fixed it right away.

    Tour pro average from 100yds is about 20 feet I think 😉

    • @thetowndrunk988
      @thetowndrunk988 Год назад +1

      Keep in mind those stats are kinda misleading, though. I know people always say “don’t feel bad. Tour pros are X from Y”, but that doesn’t paint the entire picture. They’re usually playing on MUCH harder and faster greens than the typical hack, where it’s much harder to hold the ball on their landing spot. Scott Stallings plays my home courses several times a year, and is always in the low 60’s from the tips.

It’s like I know a bunch of scratch golfers, and they hit well and it at first amazes you…..until you go see tour pros hit in person and realize it’s a whole different level of crispy ball striking.
