Great review! Just love how you narrate and walk us through the entire video as compared to others which only show a speed build. Plus the tips on where we need to take care to avoid errors. Thanks for posting!
As for the engine, maybe the 3L beams are to provide more area for the 2L beams to hit the pistons so they don't get jammed. Also interesting what Lego flowers can do at 10:03
I can confirm this. I just got this set, and I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the 3L lift arms used in this way. Just two weeks ago I built the heavy duty tow truck 42128 which has a similar crankshaft lifting mock pistons tat are the ends of 3L axles with stops: the operation of this mock engine is very noisy and has a lot of friction; the 3L lift arms look like a much better solution which I'm looking forward to seeing in action.

I just bought this then watched your video as I usually do. Very informative. I have all the technic super cars and they’re cool, but I like this and the liebherr because they actually do stuff. The cars have complex gearboxes but who really cares because they aren’t motorized.
Very good video! Nice to see you're not doing a full speed build but only pointing out what are the important and tricky steps. Good job! You have yourself a new subscriber!

@@RacingBrick I am not familiar with the exact design of the engine bay, but it is possible that the 3l beams allow the pistons to sit closer to the crankshaft. GREAT Video. I am in desperate need of help with this build. I halve already taken this thing apart and started all over. I have verified that the differentials are correctly installed as per the manual. Is the manual wrong here or does that not matter? I am stumped at this point. I cant finish the build until this is solved. What am I missing here?
I need some help. I’ve built this and it drives and tips fine but there’s one set of cogs on the underside that never moves (the thick white plastic one and the three grey cogs connected to it). I’m worried I’ve made a mistake but looking at the manual I fear it was an early step and not sure how to fix retrospectively.
Disappointed in the design of this set compared to others like the Liebherr. As you mentioned, no confirmation opportunities as you build to confirm you are on the right track.
