Here is the second part of the review with all the details of the Control+ profile and a quick comparison with the Liebherr - ruclips.net/video/27BGEBvAR_k/видео.html
I feel like there's always a compromise between building experience and playabillity, adding a motor for every function makes the build less interesting imo, but makes the set more functional. I don't really have a strong opinion on this set other than that it's expensive.
i think that if it wasnt using those mechanical pistons but pneumatic pistons and 1 motor plus a pump for making air pressure you could have better function but also a more interesting build
Markus Kossman is the best! I'm so glad that he worked on this bulldozer as he designed the 2007 one as well! I have so much nostalgia for the 2007 one, and I love the gearbox so much in this set! Definitely the best model designed by kossman!
Another amazing review! Endless apprise for remaining so UNBIASED all these years when it comes to reviewing Technic sets! Even though you get early review models from the Lego group. Also, the amount of work you put into each review to make it so detailed is beyond imaginable. Thank you.
I work for a Caterpillar Dealer in Australia and CAT (that's what the manufacturer is called by dealers) has informed us that they are changing the naming convention of the entire product line. So this bulldozer, or correctly called Track Type Tractor, will now be named D11; distinguishing it from the proceeding model D11T. CAT have dropped the alphabet at the end, going forward. A bit of trivia for you. Thoroughly enjoyed your video and comments on this model. Looking forward to your next video.
@@RacingBrick not trying to be rude but this is fake as lego said a few days ago that this happened s not one of their sets and you can tell because it shows on the front of the box that they don’t have an app to remote control any of their remote control vehicles but they have a controller instead and that’s how you you tell this is fake lego technic set
@@thecarspot8768 well then LEGO has some very serious problems, as this is an early review copy sent to me directly from their headquarters in Billund :)
Thanks for this video. I have just finished building the RC-Bulldozer by Happy Build® 22011: 7 motors, two hubs, RC (and some kind of "Control+" if you so wish), rechargeable batteries and excellent parts at a price of €180. It is a MOC that went into serial production, so it is not perfect in all aspects of the build, but it works fine. This means that I will not ever be needing the Lego version as it has fewer functions, no RC, no rechargeable batteries, fewer motors (which you are not free to use for whatever you want unless you buy additional stuff), just one hub, a sticker sheet (but no Cat prints - if I understand you correctly) and costs the princely sum of €450. It is just a no-brainer.
The T denotes the model version in the US. I believe T is the latest offering of the D11. Awesome model and great build! Told my wife this is what I want for Christmas
I feel like they should have motorized the ripper tilt and made the ladder manual. I do like how they managed to get 6 functions out of 4 motors (saving the cost of 2 motors and an extra hub). Overall, the looks are amazing. The price tag, not so much.
Actually, according to the internet, both the D11 and D11T are different. The differences is: Engine and transmission: The D11 has updated engine and transmission software, which can save up to 8% on fuel. Hydraulics: The D11 has load sensing hydraulics and variable displacement piston hydraulic pumps, which improve efficiency and reduce energy loss. Weight: The D11 is heavier, which makes it more stable and improves traction. Operator controls: The D11T has several levers that have been changed into electronic switches, and some controls have been moved for increased visibility. Exhaust mufflers: The D11T's exhaust mufflers are closer to the front of the cab, and stand taller than the ones on the D11R. Modular design: The D11T has a modular design that allows for faster repairs and upkeep. Fuel system: The D11T has a fast fuel system with positive fuel shut-off to prevent fuel spillage. - Riley
Im not keen on the model.... But I will buy 2 or 3 of them and make my own MOC bulldozer with them with more tracks, power, pistons, track runner wheels and a tripple ripper with tilt action...... WHAT DO YOU THINK.......
Nabbed this bad boy for 250 euro (373 CAD). This is my third technic set and the first over 1000 pieces. In the process building it and the second step where you build the majority of the mechanism caught me unprepared in its complexity. Made two big mistakes that were not easy to fix after getting much later in the build. It was both great relief and satisfaction when the testing step came and everything worked 😅
4:39 Nope. That's just a differential with only 3 gears. You can even add another frictionless gear and it works like a charm. Also, I don't like Lego's price at all at this point for a technically incorrect version where the drivetrain is just on the wrong wheel...
My last technic model in my youth was 8857 (the street chopper from 93, however I still have the set in its alternate dragster form); unlike that one, I find all these new sets have blue, red, orage, and a plethora of other multi-color parts, which is fine if you're semi-blind from age, or if you're attention span is that of a goldfish where you cant focus on any specific area to notice the details when its all the same or similar color. Given that these are 18+ builds, that cost upwards of $500, 1) they should have same-color-parts for where they go in the overall, 2) All pieces that currently get stickers should have actually been printed (like the Ferrari)
in my opinion Liebherr is a much better deal. You get 300 more pieces (100 of wich are 2x2 round bricks), 2 hubs, 7 motors and each function has its own motor so you can use all of them at once. I think only advantage of D11 is the new tracks
4:32 it does not matter the direction on the grey idle gear for the linear actuators. As all it does is transfer the rotation from one side to the other… it’s an idle gear, the direction would only matter if that gear was the drive gear.
This is a amazing set from what I’ve seen the climbing and driving ability is amazing and the functions and details are good the only bad thing is it’s overpriced if it was maybe 50-100 dollars cheaper it would be one of the best technic sets ever I would just wait a little bit and see if it get slightly cheaper
when i was a kid, i used to think i was the best person in the world at lego. now i'm older, i still think i'm the best in the world at lego but if you catch me at the right moment, you might just get me to admit that the world is a big place.... ;-)
I have driven a real life version of this but it was a D9 and its like driving a tank and it feels like nothing can stop it cuz it cuts through piles of dirt like butter and knocks down trees like they are not even there
My second favorite technic set I've built! (first being the rough terrain crane). now, if only we got something in this price range THIS year, rather than the insanely overpriced Liebherr crawler crane. half the piece count as this set but has all the hubs and motors lol. i'd rather get the Liebherr excavator or bucket wheel excavator for $700.
Love your content my friend, I got this last year and built it once before. So after watching your video I decided to take it apart to re build it again. I forgot just how many pieces this set consists of, lol one of my favorite builds.
Blade shouldn't tilt forward back, but side to side. It should only have an actuator on one side and fixed on the other. I guess that would have added a fair few parts.
This is top of my list at the moment but it still needs to drop in price quite a bit before I make my move. I'm hoping for £260-£270 just like the Liebherr Excavator did.
Are there any rumours about the next big lego technic product that comes after this bulldozer? 2022? Maybe a big hauler as seen in the mines around the world?
Of course, there are lots of romours on RUclips or other websites about Lego Technic will be releasing the most expensive set ever, its the Liebherr LR 13000 which the biggest crawler crane in real life, the price will be ridiculously 600$ and coming this summer
This type of buldozer(classic one piece toy) was one of toy of my childhood, ahh good old Times(i'm 19 Now,And my hobby And love Is lego)(i started collecting lego almost 10 years ago)
Half of the dozer ops I’ve ever worked with have never put their ripper in the ground, so as long as it lifts in the air, then I’d say it’s pretty accurate XD The angled seat, the bogie suspension, the cannon track tensioner and the blade stabiliser bar were all nice touches. I like the big front grill as well. I’m sure the blade tilt will have electronic limiters built into the controls in the final release, the blade on the real thing doesn’t tilt back anywhere near that far. If the base plate of the blade is parallel to the ground, then it’s rolled back too far
A very cool model and a great representation of the real thing. It's a little large as the Leibherr is considerably bigger but I cannot wait to get mine. I do work in open cut coal mining so these are wonderful items.
Worked on these up in Western Australia, they are a mammoth of a machine and the pushing power is incredible only downside is the running is a lot of $$$$$$. I've been looking at the D11 and the 9800 lego builds and they look like fun to build, do you know if either are still available to purchase or have been discontinued?
Ive just built this dozer and when i run it in reverse, the tracks bind up on the idler wheels underneath and they skip. Didnt do this before, but its just started doing it on both sides. Any ideas why??
Can I not move the blade and the ripper from my phone. It all calibrated, when downloading on my phone. My husband enjoyed building it. It brought the kid in both of us. It was chasing our dog around the house, lol
Thanks for another great review! Normally I skip the building part of reviews, but your modular build approach with explanations is very interesting, so I watched the whole video. Excellent idea! 👍 Another overpriced Lego Technic set. For this price it should have had extra hub/motors to power additional functions. A shame, but at least it is a true flagship set …

It's actually not *touch control* only and I'm sure it would be easier to wait a little until someone uploaded a copy/paste pybricks solution. It will not take long I guess.
How do you know if the kit on Amazon is the normal price or the crazy price? People in the reviews do not normally post the price they paid. I was looking at the Old World Fishing 21310 and it is 598 US.
Good review that exposes that joke of a back ripper... I didn't really expect fake actuators at this price point. Waited months for this set but it's disappointing to say the least. Guess I'll buy the Liebherr, can be found new for €350 right now
It's strange to me CAT chose to use a D11 Carry Dozer in the instruction's photos. The set is set up in the most common configuration with a U-blade and single shank ripper. A Carry Dozer with triple shank is a far less common configuration.
The track tensioners are a surprise, probably the last thing I expected from this. Still a disappointment that the blade lift doesn't have a new xxl linear actuator, and instead a half fake actuator. The collision of the blade with the fake portion of the actuator is an absolute joke, reminds me of the Osprey's destruction of gears, or the Zetros' rear diff carrier allowing for gears to unmesh under stress; poor design is really starting to become a consistent theme, isn't it? The ripper is also a disappointment. I'm also still disappointed that Lego decided to throw the 18+ tax on this when the price could've instead covered a second hub and given us blade lift, blade tilt, ripper lift, and ripper tilt as separate, simultaneous functions. The design is alright, I guess, some of the techniques are a bit odd, though. What I'm curious about now is the performance of the new tracks, especially on hard, smooth surfaces. I'm also curious about compatibility with the rubber pieces that Lego uses as a bandaid for their poor track design.
@@paologalbiati3782 Ah, yes, mention another content creator entirely, where there's a fairly large chance that a person hasn't watched that creator's video or doesn't even know of said creator. Hmm, I wonder why the original comment mentioned the rubber pieces in the first place _on this video_ when they could've just watched Sariel instead. Maybe it would've been better for this content creator to have shown this flaw in the original video that this comment exists on. Also, Sariel only showed the rubber studs, not the much taller rubber bars, and I wouldn't be surprised if the bars are tall enough to surpass the new track flanges. Rub a couple of your brain cells together, this is simple logic, it's not that hard to figure out.
12:09, except that those doors are regular doors, not suicide doors. I’m only nitpicking about this because in the last video that I watched, this guy was showing off his Technic car collection and he mistakenly labeled Lambo doors as suicide doors.
I’m on the fence about this one. I have the liebherr and Volvo dump truck and just got the retired rough terrain crane. I do like the equipment better than the big cars because they actually do stuff. I guess it’s up to how bored I get this winter.
Oh boy I can't wait, this looks likes lots of fun. Thanks I sub'd. I think I have 2 or 3 Pirate ships now. I wan the OG Batmoblle and the Ghostbuster Vehicle.
The model is great! What else can you expect from Markus? The price? Again, 50-$70 more than it should have cost. I would much prefer to put some money away and get this instead of the Zetros.
I know people are gonna say I’m crazy but honestly stickers in kits like this are such a let down, honestly would of preferred printed pieces even if it was just for the outside.
Thanks for another thorough review! Looks like a pretty cool set but definitely overpriced, especially compared to the Liebherr which has 3 more motors and 1 more hub. I know they did it for authenticity but it's a shame the tracks are yellow because that limits MOC applications
As I always say - I can play Commodore 64 games from my childhood on my smartphone, back those days we did not have any clue about smartphones. I'm sure in 40 years there'll be a solution.
@@RacingBrick thank you for your answer and wise words, however: how much is working comoodore 64 worth and how much is not working comodore worth? and how much apk? Best regards
I'm VERY sure there will be a simple copy/paste solution in a few weeks or months, so you can control the model with a train remote (for example) and without smartdevice. And I hope that this problem will be finally resolved next year by TLG.
@@RetroKlocki I don't see what the existence of the support currently has anything to do with the price of a Commodore 64. It was a popular platform with popular games, there's a demand to be able to play them today so someone made it possible. LEGO is popular enough I think to have a support maintained by fans for a long time. To protocol is open source, there are several 3rd party apps today, there might be even more in the future. Simple as that.

The rubber pieces are useless because they can't touch the ground.
Sariel show it in his review.
@@jakesnyder2667 chill tf out
I noticed that if your technic set includes tracks, you WILL have 2 spare
Great build.
How easy is it to change the batteries since only the new spike prime set will have rechargeable batteries?
You can simply access the battery box from the bottom
Cool lego set
There hasn’t been any new sets I have wanted… I think this is one.
12:09, except that those doors are regular doors, not suicide doors. I’m only nitpicking about this because in the last video that I watched, this guy was showing off his Technic car collection and he mistakenly labeled Lambo doors as suicide doors.
True. Not sure though why the promo video of the D11 calls them suicide doors then - ruclips.net/video/4VRUJBlprUI/видео.html
@@RacingBrick Huh, weird. I guess the D11 promo video is wrong too.🤷🏼♂️
Are you going to get the Titanic set?
I don't think so
@@RacingBrick I think lego messed up the price again. 630$ for a set is a very high price
@@I.G.C.A but 12,000 pieces
@@Unbrickme Let's talk about the Imperial star destroyer it has 4784 pieces and cost 700$/€
@@RacingBrick But... such a large excavator, such a large bulldozer... so many pieces in the titanic set... don't you see the connection? :D
It is cool set !
I would much prefer to put some money away and get this instead of the Zetros.
idem
Just recently purchased this set. Mine came with the screw on battery cover.
Wow , awesome mechanism!
I know people are gonna say I’m crazy but honestly stickers in kits like this are such a let down, honestly would of preferred printed pieces even if it was just for the outside.
are these collectibles? like once released not on retail for long?
They have the same shelf life as other Technic sets, around 2 years usually but it might change
WOW..it is so cool
I wish they included a lipo rechargeable battery. The AAs run out so quickly
If we wait a few months will the price drop?
yes, as always
@@Gerg19 what is the lowest price this set might go?
@@johnjohn-eo2yg Usually 20-30% cheaper than the full price
Thanks for another thorough review! Looks like a pretty cool set but definitely overpriced, especially compared to the Liebherr which has 3 more motors and 1 more hub.
I know they did it for authenticity but it's a shame the tracks are yellow because that limits MOC applications
Yup I want to make mine into a tank only thing is it shall be battling in the cheese with its yellow camo
one thing worries me: I have a 40 year old lego set and the motor and controls work fine on the cable, will this set have apk support in 40 years?
No need to worrie. I can tell you right now it wont work :)
4:42 not it does not matter only the lbg gear moves in a different rotation.
