    The NBA Finals, the pinnacle of basketball, after getting pass the grueling 82 game season to get your eventual seeding, you then have to now face the same team up to 7 times a piece for 3 rounds to get to Finals to represent your conference to compete against the winner of the other side go claim that Larry O’Brien trophy and be put in the history books. And Stephen Curry getting his first every FMVP after 3 unsuccessful previous tries, I think it’s time to rank the last 10 NBA Finals, put them on a tier list, and reminisce on just how good, or in some cases, bad or mid, some of these NBA Finals matchups were. From the battles of Lebron James and the Miami Heat and the Spurs Big 3, the 4x matchup of the Cavaliers and Warriors with Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and Kyrie Irving, and the many other Finals matchups after the fact that gave Kawhi Leonard and the Raptors their first championship, Anthony Davis his first as a Laker, and Giannis' first ring with the Bucks.

    I find it interesting how people always praise LeBron for backpacking in the 2015 finals, but don’t praise Steph in the same way for doing it in 2019. Maybe it’s just because everyone was sick of the Warriors at that point.

    • @Alvini_Linguine
      @Alvini_Linguine  Год назад +32

      Personally I just believe that last years finals wasn’t the most competitive or really entirely entertaining as others. Too many blowouts from both teams with 1 close game. But that’s just me, I watched the entire thing with my Twitch chat and we all stopped watching after game 4, it was that boring to see which team would just blow each other out the next game.

    • @lesnakejames505

      Fax lots of games were close in the final minutes but the end results turned into blowouts. Lots of games in the 2022 nba finals were entertaining, like game 4, it was literally a dog fight, game 2 was entertaining because it was a splash party and poole made a stepback crossover contested half-court buzzer. Alvini Linguine lots of the games were close and entertaining it was all over the place. You did not watch the games nor the highlights all you did was see the final score. Using the same logic as you, all the games in the 2016 nba finals were blowouts except for game 7, but that's not true. Most of the games were close in the final mins but the end results were blowouts. Plus, i noticed that you got all the years wrong. You are 1 year behind in every finals. Raptors vs Warriors were the 2019 nba finals lol and Warriors vs Celtics were THIS YEARS NBA FINALS not last years. You probably aren't even a real nba fan.

      @@Jeloxia I did say, qoute: “highlighted by the sheer difference of coaching of Steve Kerr and Ime Udoka” it’s my opinion at the end of the day. As a series I didn’t find it all that entertaining. And like I also said in the video, my chat and I watched every second of all the games live on stream. Obviously there were little things in there that made it interesting, Draymond being exploited offensively, Jordan Poole with the baddies courtside, Curry popping off, Jayson Tatum not being able to finish inside, ect. But compared to other series in the past I just don’t see it. I don’t want to mark a lot of y’all points as recency bias. The 2014 Finals changed everything.
    The Spurs were back where they were the year prior and were back for blood, securing that championship in 5 games instead of dragging it out to 7. They played some amazing basketball and Kawhi at the time was claimed to be the next big Spur (unfortunate that their relationship would sour). The Miami defeat would pretty much end Lebron's time with them, as he would move to Cleveland the very next season, with Miami not having any major playoff appearances (League Finals or Conference Finals) until 2020, despite superstars Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade still being available. Have you heard anything about their later careers? The game would change too as 3-pointers would be prioritized over 2-point plays from then on. It would only grow and grow until we get the game we have today (though I don't think that it's a direct cause, but consider that the very next year was the first year of the Warriors Dynasty).
    I think that the win in 2014 impacted the game of basketball a lot more than you're giving it credit for, definitely a lot more than the 2013 finals did. Of course I am a bit biased since I am a ride or die Spurs fan, but it also has to do with observation of the game at the time and the game from then on.

      As someone who was rooting for the Spurs, 2013 was still a much more entertaining and significant finals series overall. It being any lower than S Tier is just flat out wrong in my view. No other recent finals has had 3 down to the wire games in a 7 games series two of which being win or go home games, with two of the potential GOATs facing off. 2014 was more satisfying for Spurs fans but it wasn’t very climactic in terms of competitiveness and while 2016 was certainly climatic in its final game the rest were all blowouts. You can’t be the best series if you had 6 games with zero actual drama from a competitive standpoint. 2013 has been the best finals series of this century so far and I don’t think it’s that arguable tbh.

    Hard disagree on the Boston getting outcoached thing. Udoka made the correct decision, at least until game 5. Using drop coverage allowed Bostons defense to help on the other guys, meaning they wouldn't have to worry about those famous GSW avalanches. Instead it would just be Curry. But as soon as he went away from that in game 5, the other GSW players found a rhythm. So even if that's still him being outcoached, your reasoning is off. Boston losing is still 90% on Tatum however and that should be said.

    I just find it weird how when players like LeBron have great offensive nights in the finals, it's credited to his ability, but when Steph drops 40+ it's credited to the opposing team playing badly. Like he literally dropped more than 40 against a team that was widely known for their defensive ability, with great two-way players, multiple DPOY candidates, and the DPOY himself.
    I'm probably sounding like some dude who's really biased towards Steph but it's just annoying when some of his best performances are being undervalued, unlike the other greats of the game.

CP3 is beating them like a drum leading Houston to a 3-2 series lead then he goes down missing games 6 and 7 , then in 2022 Ja Morant goes down !! That's a lot of missed games by star players , but but that 1 game ruined everything 😂😂

    It's completely fair that in your own video, you hype your favourite player, that's perfect, but the narratives that people keep going in regards to injuries and the Warriors Is kinda bullshit.
    Sure, they benefited from other injuries, but so did their rivals, and that's ok, that's how the NBA works, but this idea that the spurs could have beaten them, the Rockets could as well, the cavs, etc.
    No one has ever beat s fully healthy Warriors squad, and if you want to say the Warriors mostly beat injured teams, that's fine, but let's just keep the bar the same for every team
