I was a Coke drinker until my A1C got a little high. I switched to Diet Coke and after I got healthy again, I couldn’t handle the sweetness of regular coke anymore. 😂 If you’re friends with your local convenience store manager, they can talk to the Coke guy if the mix is a little weird and he can adjust it. Another big thing with the flavor is the dispenser tips getting cleaned regularly. As far as the aspartame, on the rare occasions I make myself give up soda, with regular coke I was a little tired, but with Diet Coke I felt like I had a flu for 4-5 days. Weight loss 😂😂😂😂 I have been at a healthy weight drinking both. I have been at an unhealthy weight drinking both. The only thing that affects my weight is how much I move my body.😂
When I first heard System of a Down, I saw their video for "Sugar." In the video, there was a brief image of a cherry pie, and it said, "Aspartame kills ". It stuck with me, and eventually, I learned that stuff was in Diet Coke. I stayed away from that stuff since, and eventually, cut down on soda altogether. If I do drink a soda nowadays, I'll have a Mexican coke.
I've watched Back To The Future so many times and I didn't know he was actually ordering for a soda, I just thought he just wanted to open a tab out of nowhere
I was a Diet Coke addict for years. I would drink 8-10 cans a day. It was bad. I quit about 8.5 years ago and I cannot go anywhere near it now. My husband still drinks it but not as much as I ever did. I feel much better not drinking it. I had bladder control issues from it plus the caffeine made my sleep horrible. It was terrible. People dont realize how bad it is. I tasted it a while ago and it’s horrible. It’s like pure chemical tasting. Ugh.
The Tab issues was also Tab's saccharin content which was targeted as cancer causing agent. That wasn't sold after the fallout. So Coke switched to aspartame as the sweeter with Diet Coke.

30 years in the restaurant business here. Basically, I watch people "consume" for a full-time living. When people order a regular coke, they only have one, and sometimes they don't even finish the whole thing. When people order a DIET coke, they get a second EVERY SINGLE TIME, and often a 3rd or 4th. I don't know if it's because the fake sugar tells your body to crave real sugar, or maybe the person who has a consumption issue themselves which led them to believe drinking "diet" stuff would somehow make them lose weight but either way, it's just a fact of watching people consume for sooo many years that eventually it can't be ignored. The only way a "diet" anything is going to work is if you eat/drink it in the same portion size of the regular stuff. If you buy sugar free ice cream and eat the entire container in one sitting, the person eating a normal scoop of "regular" rocky road is going to have a better physique than you from now until the end of time.
With artificial sweeteners you can trick your taste buds, but you cannot trick your body. Your digestive system knows there's nothing in sugar free drinks nutrition wise, it expected sugar, now it demands it. Which quickly leads to reaching for a strong source of sugar.

Its hard to decided between Coke Zero and Pepsi Zero. But its also even harder to decide between Cherry Coke Zero and Wild Cherry Pepsi Zero. So I just get them all whenever I can.

I have a weird habit. I mix regular Coke half-half with Diet Coke. Regular is too sweet, and Diet is too bitter, but mixing them together is "just right". Just like Goldilocks.
I love Coke Zero. I have a sensitivity to real sugar and the various Zero products bring unhealthy max joy to my life. Sprite Zero is my favorite since it's caffeine free and, well, Sprite. Of course, water is best and unless Im feeling depressed, sodas are out. But hey, once it's been cloudy for six weeks straight, Coke Zero and Sprite Zero it is! 😂❤🎉
Diet Coke is definitely one of my vices. I have a fairly healthy lifestyle. But i absolutely love Diet Coke. On average a drink about 7 ice cold cans a day.
FYI: You may want to know that there are markets where Diet Cola was withdraw. In Poland Diet version is no longer in sell. We only have Cola Zero/Sprite Zero/Fanta Zero. For me it is ok, I prefer this taste, but some of my friends were quite sad about this shift.
A few nitpicks: Diet Coke was developed before Nutrasweet was approved. It had to work as a saccharin sweetened drink first, and to get this to work, Coke just kept tweaking a diet cola-ish formula until they found something that tasted pretty good with the least amount of complaints that people had about diet sodas of that era. The fact that it didn't taste anything like Coke Proper was not a concern, it was not the goal. Aspartame had been around for over a decade though and they had to been considering how well this drink would work with it whenever it finally got green-lit by the FDA. And don't forget the whole (sugary) New Coke fiasco. That new formula? An offshoot of Diet Coke experimentation, just with fructose.
I am a devoted and loyal member of the Diet Coke Cult. To me DC is superior in taste to Coke Zero, I don't generally like Coke Zero, it's too sweet. I'll drink it if that's what someone has, but deep down I am always longing for the silver can. I think I'll be drinking a can of Diet Coke on my deathbed.

I have 128 OZ mug it's huge, I fill it with 4 or 5 cans of Diet coke at a time, and I refil the mug once or twice a day, meaning I drink between 8 and 15cansof Diet coke a day. I haven't drank water in years.
I never liked sugar drinks, so, I started drinking Coke Light because it was the only one available at the time. When Coke Zero came out, it was better. Unfortunately, when they changed the formula to the current Coke Zero Calories, the taste changed for the worse. I went back to Coke Light and sticking with it.
Coke Zero went through 3 versions. We all liked the original and were terrified when they announced mark 2. Turns out the 2nd version was actually a little bit better than the launch version. Everyone was happy. Then they changed it again. The goal was not to improve the flavor - they replaced sodium with potassium to make the drink healthier. Potassium has a bitter finish on the taste buds. Coke Zero is still pretty good when drank with a meal. But the standalone experience can't match what mark 2 of the beverage accomplished.
I drank diet coke for the 1st time after playing around with a coke machine as a child. There was money in it & hit that smaller button. I thought it was the weirdest soda ive ever drank as a young Melmac
I've been a total slave to Diet Coke my whole life, and I really can't pinpoint why. I've loved it since I was a child. I always got one every time my family went out to eat (I was the only one who would ever order it too). I think my taste buds just respond really well to artificial sweeteners, because I also LOVE Splenda.
"not the kind of weight loss people wanted" That was savage af 🤣😆
I'm a Coke Zero guy now. I can't even go back to regular Coke, it's too sweet.

I saw how my family is addicted to diet soda.
I chose to become addicted to iced black coffee and zero sugar Monster we are the same 😂
"Diet Coke and a pizza please
Diet Coke and I'm on my knees"
Big Girl - Mika
White grape diet rite was my favorite. I really miss it.
WHAT DID YOU SAY I CANT HEAR YOU SOMEONE IS MURDERING A SAXOPHONE RIGHT NEXT TO YOU
Diet Coke is definitely one of my vices.
At this point, I'm all about sparkling water. I see the Coke company has already bridged into that market.
My top soda
Orange, Grape, Fruit punch, Ginger ale, Root Beer, Diet Coke, and Cream Soda.
I drank Tab before Diet Coke was a thing. Now I'm Team Water-from-the-Tap and Team Black-Coffee.
Noticing the most unhealthy people leaving stores with cartloads of this stuff is enough evidence it should not be drunk by anyone.
Well I’ll be the minority here but I love Tab and wish they’d bring it back!
Great video
I interviewed for a job at Coca-Cola during the first few weeks that they were pushing those flavored skinny cans and they brought me to lunch at the company cafeteria and it's like it threw up skinny cans. They were everywhere and also giving out koozies for them :P
Did they tell you how they had union workers assassinated in Colombia?
@@DB-ek5kd why would they have told me that?
Also I never said that I liked them… they actually offered the job to me and then revoked the offer when I tried to negotiate
good video
Finished my diet coke right before I opened the video and now I wish I had another one.
Love Diet Coke. My old roommate got us started on it. Now I’m a diabetic and can’t drink any regular soda and I’m not thrilled with Coke Zero. Other zeros are ok, but not my drug of choice
(walks in to see if anyone made a comment related to MatPat)
(sees several such comments and walks back out, nodding approvingly)
I'd give my right arm for them to bring back that Ginger Lime Diet Coke.
“Just for the taste of it.”
As someone who doesn’t drink much soda, anyway, I find diet soda to taste WORSE. This slogan baffles me.
I have 128 OZ mug it's huge, I fill it with 4 or 5 cans of Diet coke at a time, and I refil the mug once or twice a day, meaning I drink between 8 and 15cansof Diet coke a day. I haven't drank water in years.
Anyone who lived through the days of Tab can survive anything. 😂. That stuff tasted like a chemical experiment, but we drank it anyway.
I like the Diet Coke with Lime, unfortunately, I haven't been able to find it in a awhile.
Wow... really released this after one of the biggest Diet Coke addicta
So i once heard that New Coke from the 80s was just the Diet Coke formula but using HFCS as a sweetner.
I am a member of Team Diet Coke!
I drank diet coke for the 1st time after playing around with a coke machine as a child. There was money in it & hit that smaller button. I thought it was the weirdest soda ive ever drank as a young Melmac
diet coke is revolting, vanilla coke zero is where its at!
