Always check out their non-food aisle for bargains. I bought four cushions for my outdoor patio chairs at $40 each. Then I went to Aldi‘s and found one I like better for $15 each. So I bought those and took the other ones back. Saved me over $100
** Tip from a German Aldi pro ** 😉 Go to their website to see what “special products“ they have for the week and also, which products are on sale. I do that especially for the produce. The non-food “special items“ are fairly seasonal as you said, so they'll have gardening items in spring and barbecue tongs in summer etc.
Aldi has by far the best prices, and produce in my area. Which is surprising, since I have a Sprouts nearby too. For some reason the produce from Sprouts seems to go off faster. I think it’s because they have so many options, the food tends to sit there longer. Edit: I have noticed, if you let the AC vinegar sit for a month or two, the mother increases. For this reason, I buy several bottles at a time and let them age before using.
I cut my larabars up into 25 calorie pieces and put them in the fridge. When I need something sweet after dinner I will just grab one or two pieces and that keeps me from eating an entire bar. I bet you could do that with the Aldi version.
I love the Aldi 'Lärabars' too but I don't have the discipline to chop them up (even though I do have that discipline with chocolate, more or less!). Bought a packet with the intention of eating them during the week but they didn't even last 'til Monday. They are delicious but seem oilier to me than the Lärabar brand. Yum, though... Must go and get some again.
Aldi product packaging also utilizes an updated style of recycling mark/ information which is much easier to understand what you do with every part of the package, such as the box, the inner bag, the lid, etc... I LOVE IT!!!!
ALDIs is amazing. we also thought ALDI's was cheap - because the store wasnt "super cool" looking. But we realized quickly this company is more concerned WITH QUALITY PRODUCTS than fancy decor. love our Aldi's !!!
Hi Krocks the best thing about Aldi are the wonderful employees who really came through for us during our Covid crisis. I love all the inexpensive gluten free items!
I love that Aldi has few options and the few options are already organic. Since it's already cheap, no need to compare prices and it takes way less time to shop.
After watching this, I went to Aldi’s and bought 6 of the products you featured that I had never tried before. Do you realize how influential you are?!
I plan on trying the riced cauliflower. I already buy everything else. Every week I buy more and more from Aldi. I buy the free range eggs, the guacamole, the whole bean coffee, the La croix sparkling water, blackberry cucumber is my favorite. I always look for the pumpkin seed flax granola. Oh, the mini naan bread, toast it in the toaster! Yum! My and my son’s latest obsession is the cauliflower crackers. Plus the succulents. I cannot get out of there without buying a new plant every time. I will admit I thought Aldi was just cheaply made food. But I’m more and more impressed with their selection as time goes on.
I love buying the huge box of mixed salad greens. They have excellent mangoes. I also like buying their dates, almond butter, coconut granola cereal, coconut water, just egg vegan egg, and organic whole grain bread.
Cherry berry large bag of frozen fruit is only around $7.00 at my Aldi...love it especially for smoothies...frozen bananas that I freeze from their fresh bananas with their 16 oz organic spring mix of lettuce makes awesome smoothies...
One of my favorite things to buy at Aldi are the dates. You find them in the produce section. They’re very inexpensive! One time I bought them they were a little hard… But most times they’re really soft and yummy. I also love their fresh cut salsa it’s in the refrigerated section. I add that to black beans and corn with some cumin and onion powder and it’s a great meal.
If you check Wal-Mart, Amazon or local Latin store, you can buy the Badia brand larger containers of spices and refill...that's what I do for smoked paprika and garlic, because I use those the most. You can also just buy larger jars....and the price is right. If you want ORGANIC, check to see if you have a local co-op that offers Frontier, you can order spices by the pound in bags and refill. I do this as well. I run a group locally, but have been slacking so I picked up the badia...
I love riced cauliflower. To get some extra veggies, I put it in my morning oatmeal along with almond milk, peanut butter, and half of a banana. The texture is a bit noticeable, but not the taste. I do the same thing with zucchini spirals.
Aldi is the best! Produce is way cheaper than at Trader Joes and you guys know they have the same supplier right? So same product in slightly different packaging. Trust me you will start seeing similarities..of course TJs has their specialty items and is a bit more upscale but you just cant beat Aldi prices :)
Dorothy Young Nope, Trader Joeʻs and Aldi US are owned by two different parent companies. Now, the two parent comoanies were related at one time but no longer.
@@dorothyyoung8231 The owner companies are both called ALDI in Europe - ALDI north and ALDI south. They were related but are now two seperate companies. ALDI south runs the US ALDI, ALDI north runs the Trader Joe's.
They have some great dips and vegan cheese. And Breads... I really like that they stepped up to help their employees during this pandemic when stores like Hobby Lobby were closing and cutting their employee's loose without options for keeping insurance. They also are helping employees that have gotten sick unlike some of the other stores. I got some great refrigerator plastic organizers there that are normally like 12.00 at other stores. I love the produce, but I will say it is ripe so don't let it sit long before eating it. A lot of stores have green fruits and vegies. My apples I have gotten from Kroger are hard as a baseball for 3 weeks after I buy them. Pears, can't even eat them till they have ripened from Kroger. Thanks for posting!
We need Non-GMO bread. When they modified the wheat to be pest resistant, they basically put the bug spray in the plant. We've had to deal with bug spray allergies for 40 years. Aldi has a French baguette that is Non-GMO
The extra fine frozen green beans are so delicious....just looked in the fridge and the bags I have now are packed in Belgium! I feel so a fancy eating these beans. Cook them in veggie broth with some salt and pepper and olive oil. Have just converted to rolled oats to the Aldi steel cut oats....I borrowed a trick from through hikers ....cold soaking....I use the quick cooking ones....put them in a bowl before bed and cover with water and next am they are ready for dried fruit and some peanut butter and the microwave for about a minute. These oats are chewy and more hearty tasting. They seem to stick to my ribs a little longer through the morning. Will try those elevation bars....quit keeping the Lara bars in the house because I have an accountability problem with sweets...I will get some though for upcoming road trip because they are convienent for our on the road packed lunch. I make a weekly produce haul from the aldi....I just love this store....why pay more?
The Steamed California Medley bags of veggies are identical in content to what in Germany are called "Kaisergemüse" - and hilariously I wanted to know which emperor (Kaiser) they were named after and it turned out it was a marketing ploy when frozen vegetables were starting out in the 1960s and 1970s - they thought folks would buy them - which they do.
I love shopping at Aldi’s. I just wish they opened earlier than 9 AM but no biggie. I like all the things you said about Aldi’s, but since my house isn’t totally plant-based yet, I still buy their ice cream ( it’s only $1.95 ), lemon juice, unsweetened cocoa powder, and butter. I also buy their canned garbanzo beans, black olives, and Parmesan cheese in the plastic bottle.
I'm glad you posted this. I am not an Aldi person and the one time we went, I was singularly unimpressed. I couldn't find anything organic (at least not at the store I was at), the produce was over-ripe and much of it was spoiled. We left with only two "Aldi brand" items--which neither of us liked. But I'm willing to try (we have a new store) recommended by the Krocks.
I wish Aldi's was closer to me, but I will make a trip once a month. Aldi's in Ireland is insane! I was blown away at the size of the market and the variety. Now not sure if the one here in MA is just small, but the one in Ireland was double the size. Thanks for creating this video, everything has been added to my Aldi list.
Thanks for telling me about the elevation bars. I had no idea about these. And it looks like the apple pie bar does not have any added sugar??? If that’s true that’s amazing.
I have been shopping remotely from Aldi’s since quarantine, because you guys inspired me with your earlier potato-buying video which featured Aldi’s. I LOVE their online shopping list. They’re so internet friendly. Thanks!
Aldi Almat is good washing powder/liquid for the price. They also do a shampoo I like but I can never remember what it's called (I know the bottle) and I'm out of it at the moment. Most shampoos irritate my scalp but it doesn't. They also do super foods here like wheatgrass, maca, cacao, etc. and they are pretty cheap.
I'm obsessed with Aldi! We just bought collapsible director chairs from there that are really nice and sturdy. We save so much money shopping there, compared to anywhere else!
I absolutely love Aldi's. Mine runs out all the time, so I asked them about their inventory, and it is dependent on the scanning at the register. Every time they scan the item, the computer tracks it, and that is how they place their order. I could not figure out what day was best. Cherries this week are 1.99 a pound WOW! I have noticed that other grocery retailers have to compete and some of their prices are getting lower, which is so exciting!
Just watched your video on Whole Foods and totally hit the subscribe button! Will be binging your channel next chance I have. FYI if you have an Indian market in your area that is the best place to buy large bags of spices, uncooked beans and nuts. Also they normally have amazing produce that is hard to find like okra, little eggplant, and cool different kinds of veggies you may have never tried but not much organic.
I absolutely love the produce selection at aldi's. I think their produce is even better than the other stores near me. My favorite product is their Asian pear kombucha.
My favorite Aldi item is the Calif. medley, and the Artisan Lettuces. Comes in a square clear box, and makes my life very happy! $1.99. However, today I got something of a fan necklace..for $5.99. I live in FL. Boom!
Love your channel! Sadly; there are no Aldi markets in Northern California where I live. I notice they are in the LA and southern San Joaquin area, hopefully they will move up here as well.
The energy in this video is different than your normal videos lol. I think Jessica was supppper excited about this video! Like a kid in a candy store 😂🤣 Poor Brian couldn’t get a word in or out fast enough. Definitely going to Aldi this weekend to try it out. I would love to see a video on how to grocery shop or something along those lines. It becomes so stressful at times especially if I’m trying to stay healthy. Lmao@ Brian saying get to the close 😂🤣🤣😂!!! Brian should start to play music like they do at the Oscars when it’s time for the video to end🤪
I don’t have an Aldi’s in my state. Out of all these items, I mist wish I could get the Sweet Butter Lettuce, the kitchen gang and the Almond milk, amazing price! Thank you guys! ❣️ you both!
European here. Also a huge fan of Aldi! Their products vary over the course of the year here. They do the most delicious Kalamata olives for €1.49. Those Lärabars are great. They're called something different here. They are a bit oily but nice. They also disappear a bit too fast...!
Yep, they've got the dopamine formula down pat! Feeling good about grabbing bargains, plus novel items of interest that change all the time. I love Aldi. I love Lidl too but Aldi is cheaper, if less consistent with product lines because they only buy the cheapest and if a product is considered too dear to buy, they'll discontinue it instead.
Love this channel. As a native German I am happy that you like Aldi that much :) Would love to share my fav Aldi Items, but I guess it is not useful as I live in Ireland. They have here Vegan Burgers (I know not really wholefood but plant based) to die for. Apart from that I buy tons of staples like Rice, Produce, Bread and Pasta there.
I love Aldi, but I did not like them when they first came to my town. What I didn't like was that I couldn't find everything on my list. I didn't want to have to go to another store and there was a lot they didn't have. But, as you mentioned, they have added so much more now. But, the main reason I love Aldi now is for the produce. We eat a lot of produce now and they make it affordable. Walmart's produce is way higher. And Aldi's produce is also fresher. So, yes...I am now an Aldi fan girl. :)
*not vegan, but an example of brand swapping....my nephew works at PET dairy. The name brand Dean’s French onion dip and the Aldi Friendly Farms French onion dip come from the same vat, just put in a different container. So I’m sure a lot of their products are just relabeled name brand. I love Aldi!
I found root vegetable fries 🍟 in the frozen section. Delicious! I didn’t think I’d like the beet root fries in the mix, but I’ve found they’re my favorite
The trash bags are your 0th (pronounced Zero-ith) favorite product. 🤣😂... I can get lost in the special buy area. They have tents this week 🏕️ My favorite purchase is the organic cotton sheets in May 2020. $30.... They are light gray and 100% cozy. ..🍉🌼💐🍇🌻
Thanks for the tip about the Cali Medley and adding some beans for at night! That was VERY helpful! When I go back, I will try the butter lettuce and the rolled oats. Do you have any favorite rolled oat treats you could share or mention? I got inspired about the hash brown cooking options also. I have a George Foreman I never have used and so I tried the loose hash browns from Aldi's last night. They turned out edible but they were not lovely and crisp. :( Maybe I did something wrong. The Cauli rice works perfect in the homemade vegan butter recipe I have and makes it so easy! Easy is helpful!
rolled oats "treat": my go to easy breakfast is "muesli-ish" w/ Aldi rolled oats, 1 of 2 ways. 1. fruity: in a large soup bowl I first combine whatever fruit I like (mainly berries -- okay let's be real, mainly what Aldi's has on sale) lemon/lime juice (from you know where), honey or other healthier sweetener and a little water. Then after the honey/sweetener dissolves I add my rolled oats, mix and enjoy. The goal is to add just enough water so that after mixing you get roughly an oatmeal cookie consistency. It's actually best when made at night then enjoyed the next morning! 2. spicy: here I'll first mix dates (I hate raisins) - usually Aldi's Medjool, Aldi's canned pumpkin (optional), and a variety of flavoring/sweetening agents (cinnamon, maple syrup, molasses, nutmeg, ground flax or nuts when I'm being a little cheat-y, even occasionally a little cocoa powder), then a little water and the oats, and mix and enjoy as before. Yum!
My Aldi favs are.... Half-Sour pickles (in the refrigerator case), Asian & Thai flavor Veggie Patties, Almond Milk, Fusia Teriyaki Sauce, Live G Free pretzel sticks, canned beans... i’m sure there’s a ton more I’m forgetting
Here's my favorite thing to do with an empty oat carton: Roll up a piece of paper, stick it in there, then unroll it so it lines the inside. Drop in several marbles. Squirt in a couple colors of washable tempera paint. Put the lid on. Shake it, roll it - it works best if you sing a song while you shake & roll. Pull the paper out and BAM! Art! Should watch the whole video before I comment: I LOVE THEIR TRASH BAGS TOO!!!! My husband and I are always discussing the fact that if ALDI would sell tofu, we would never have to shop anywhere else. I got my vegetable chopper there and it's awesome!
Just got the riced cauliflower, based on the recommendation; amazing. I think this wouldn't be a huge deal to make by hand, just get the cauliflower, grind it then toss in the steamer. I added some marinated crumbled tofu into it to create a "hash" it was super good, and gone in 90 seconds lol.
I want to start a whole plant diet to loose weight and get off some meds and feel better too. You guys have inspired me to get the book Eat To Live and try new foods. Other than getting the book what's a good way to start? Do I need to go through my kitchen and get rid of all meat and dairy products? Or can I go gradually. Thanks for any advice.
Loved this - so said that some of this is not available in Australian Aldi especially the non salt blends - but still very helpful when thinking of plant based rule
Trader Joe's and Aldi are related stores! Wasn't sure if you knew. I think I read that there are two brothers that owned them? Research it! We have Aldi where I live but there are no WF or TJ within 2 hours of me. Aldi has tons of awesome stuff for my corn allergy, too!
I love that you discussed your secret ALdi snobbery- lol I have always snubbed my nose at aldis becuase everyone I knew that shopped there was just ...weird. HOWEVER, I finally went and it’s like my Wfpb secret weapon! So many good veggies and much cheaper - how have I been shopping all these years without? That’s what I get lmao - great video!
I buy almost all of the things you mentioned. Also love their dark 70% cocoa bars by Moser Roth. They are a hundred 50 calories for a little bar and I break him in half for a little treat after dinner. Also love their unsalted almonds. Always always my first place to shop.
I live in Southern California & the prices at the Aldis I go to is more expensive- guess that's no surprise! I do like the store & it is cheaper then other stores.

😂😂😂😂
Aldi pineapple is the best ever. Usually $1.49 on sale $1.29. Never disappointed
Their vegan queso dip! It tastes a lot like the Trader Joe's one! I also love to buy organic tofu there now 😍 Whole new world...
In Austria Aldi is called Homer and I love shopping there. I agree...great prices and fun shopping the miscellaneous aisles.
Oops! Hofer...not Homer....
As a native German I am happy that you like Aldi that much :)
Would love to share my fav Aldi Items, but I guess it is not useful as I live in Ireland.
My wife and I started buying spices in bulk and refill the small containers. We buy the bulk spices at Natural Grocers if you have them in your area.
I love grocery shopping too!!!😄
They have organic almond milk also👍🏻‼️🌸
Try dropping the California Medley in your air fryer. Yummy!!!
I discovered the salt free seasoning at Aldi through your channel. We actually prefer them to Mrs. Dash! Our favorite is the Garlic and Herb.
I love their 85% dark chocolate bars. $1.99 for a 5 pack. Loaded with antioxidants, great for brain health.
Love your channel so much! Thank you for what you do! :)
Oh Jessica your laugh is so generous!
They have tents this week 🏕️
My favorite purchase is the organic cotton sheets in May 2020. $30.... They are light gray and 100% cozy.
..🍉🌼💐🍇🌻
hashbrowns, juice, veggie burgers, veggie meatballs, peanut butter,
The Parker Deli pickles are the best! Also love their frozen green beans & sourdough bread.
Their OATS are the best priced and quality in my opinion.
Awesome sauce!!! Thanks for the tips!!!
If you try to buy organic produce Aldi's has the best price and fresh quality.
I buy the big spices! I also go through Garlic & onion
You guys are too funny! Fun to watch you two. Good inspiration.
You guys look fantastic! No Aldis around us but between Grocery Outlet and Fred Meyers I can a wide range of good organic plant based foods.
Please share your vegan butter recipe! Thx.
Did you try thawing your hash browns first (if they’re frozen)?
@@kdgactress ruclips.net/video/_rN9X2Z7-aM/видео.html It is delicious. I do not use the Psyllium Husks
rolled oats "treat": my go to easy breakfast is "muesli-ish" w/ Aldi rolled oats, 1 of 2 ways. 1. fruity: in a large soup bowl I first combine whatever fruit I like (mainly berries -- okay let's be real, mainly what Aldi's has on sale) lemon/lime juice (from you know where), honey or other healthier sweetener and a little water. Yum!
@@enerjeffic Thank you!!!
This was totally ME Jessica!! I used to scoff at my friend and now it's my favorite store!!
Oh my gosh. Food is so affordable there!!! I wish we had Aldi in Canada.
My number #1 is Brownie batter hummus, #2 single serving chocolate hummus, #3 avocados which are always 1/3 of the price of other stores in my area.
Oooh fancy!!! And yes, when are they going to get tofu????
@@KrocksInTheKitchen You can learn a lot from a children's librarian....
We should all start asking them to stock tofu. They do so much other plant based items!
She can talk and on. I love the way he wraps her up. My husband is the same way. lol
I love Aldi! I can't wait to try the Aldi version of the larabar. Did you know Aldi and Trader Joe's are actually owned by the same company?
Loved this - so said that some of this is not available in Australian Aldi especially the non salt blends - but still very helpful when thinking of plant based rule
You’ve inspired me to go to Aldi’s!
They have organic corn chips and organic salsa...with their block of Monterey Jack cheese makes great nachos.
Vegans
Aldi is great! I like all of your videos, even the ones where you talk a lot. It’s like hanging out with friends 😍
Thanks Vegan Bookie! We appreciate it. 😀
I buy almost all of the things you mentioned. Also love their dark 70% cocoa bars by Moser Roth. They are a hundred 50 calories for a little bar and I break him in half for a little treat after dinner. Also love their unsalted almonds. Always always my first place to shop.
I love Aldi and especially love the Aisle of Shame!
I live in Southern California & the prices at the Aldis I go to is more expensive- guess that's no surprise!
I do like the store & it is cheaper then other stores.
I used to work at the Aldi distribution center. Lol best workout ever.
Why isn’t Aldi in south Texas? 😫
I make oatmeal burgers or patties with a mushroom sauce. Great product choices
Sounds good to me! 😀
