LMAO he sux at explaining things, he can't even explain things in detail and he skipped a lot of things. Hey linkus, i think you should call this "Twillight Princess speedrun EXPLAINED" or something along those terms. Because this video could be enooormously helpful for people wanting to learn the speedrun. Love the video and all of your effort
Well, I think he's going for a click-bait title. Your title is more informative, but crosses the threshold where there's a good balance between baity and informative. If he named it that, only Zelda speedrun fans and TP fans are going to click. Something like this helps to garner in not only that audience, but the speedrun and gaming audiences as a whole. Especially with something like "___ are INSANE in 2022." Which is both catchy and emphasizes that it's very relevant right now. I agree though, it would be a good permanent title, I just don't know if I'd change it to that until it has a couple weeks to circulate through the algorithm and reach as far as possible. Still though, he's gotta think of things like this along the lines of a business to reach as many potential consumers as possible before he starts appealing to more niche groups.
No, he will keep the clickbait title for the first couple of days so more of his subscribers click on the video. It's a common strategy that many successful youtubers do, because it works
I agree but the clickbaity title is important for the video's performance, maybe the same title as now but with "(TP any% explained)" at the end would be the best of both worlds but it's hard to judge this since we don't have the video's statistics to look at, so only linkus would know if these parentheses at the end would hurt the video or not 🤷♀️
I love how coming to the midna section as human makes it so she's like "you wamna be wolf? Ok" Jumps on your back then remembers she's in the middle of dying.
Btw, for folks not in the know, this Back in Time glitch is present in some other zelda games too! Nintendo reused this "dummy file for title screen" trick many times. In particular, it's incredibly useful in Skyward Sword runs, because the mechanics of the game allow for a lot more versatility in how you can use the glitch. If you wanna have your mind blown, watch a Skyward Sword Low% run, it's absolute madness.
I am an avid twilight Princess fan and honestly I adore early game. Interacting with the villagers and playing the first few dungeons is so much fun. I do hate not being able to warp though
I think that's a matter of opinion. I, for one, play Zelda for adventuring, so going through that whole sequence is tedious and boring, especially on replays. Also, the goat herding minigame is shit. Seriously, I hated that damn thing so much as a kid I flat-out _stopped playing_ before I got anywhere, and I'm not any more fond of it today.

This was sooooo helpful. I have no intention of properly speed running but this was very helpful for messing with my brother by making him question how the heck I managed to beat Twilight Princess in 7 and a half hours instead of the usual 16 hours it takes me. And faster than the 14 hours it takes him. KEKW

my internet cut out halfway through watching this stream so I missed a lot, but im super happy to be able to sit down and watch the final product! great job linkus :)
I remember doing the long jump slash a couple of times in the past but never kept doing it for speedrun purposes, just for fun. Never in my wildest dreams I would think it had so much potential.
Having been afflicted by the worst stomach flu I’ve ever had to date so this is absolutely just what I needed to rest and recover ☺️ thanks linkus for all the work. I been enjoying all the videos as of lately.
Did anyone else notice he said Budder Sword?! At 1:04:30?! I don’t know if it was intentional or not, but that brings back so many memories of Skydoesminecraft. Great video, Linkus, this was awesome!
As a kid I figured that getting the all the fused shadows/mirror shards would be unnecessary if you could just get the final pieces in the lakebed and sky temples. All you would have to get is whichever items were necessary for the remaining overworld dungeons and boss fights. Turns out that was completely correct.
I meant to put this on in the background while I tried to get stuff done, but it was so interesting I ended up watching it all in one go, and getting NOTHING else done This was the first Zelda game I ever beat as a kid (was too scared to play Majoras Mask, and I always got stuck in the whale/fish in Ocarina of Time. I also got stuck in Windwaker, somewhere very near the end of the game, and after awhile I had just convinced myself I had beaten the game. Went back and played it over 10 years later and MY SHOCK at the actual ending. I really thought I had beaten it lmao! )
This is also probably my favorite Zelda game. I've beaten it atleast 7 times. Back when it came out, I genuinely thought the graphics were good enough to be real life LOL. I just remember being blown away by how pretty the game was. The music and the environment kept bringing me back.
I just spent the last hour or so figuring out how to do the EMS glitch and finally got it! Unfortunately it's the only sequence skip I know and now this save file is practically useless unless I figure out other tricks. But this is such a cool video for one of my favorite childhood games! Thank you for explaining all this! It must have taken a lot of time and effort
This was a great video. I always love getting commentary like this for speedruns I'm unfamiliar with and with your performance and editing it made it all that much better.
Twiglight princess on GC was my alltime most exploited game as a 10yo. I remember fondly after beating the game, spending hours on exploiting and researching glitches to perform and getting out of bounds by opening the disc tray at certain times. It was such a trip and great memories. Having to go to the nearby library, hop on RUclips and ign and go directly back home after this entire plethora of knowlege and printing pages out with guides on them was peak gaming.
I used to speedrun this game way back in 2013 when not many people ran this game so this was a trip down memory lane. Lots of the tricks are very familiar and it nice to see lots of new strats were found. The Gate to Lanayru with Epona was very annoying lol. Thanks for the video Linkus.
51:50 This method of hitting the boss three times instead of four can also be used on the first real boss (Gluto) in Power Rangers Super Legends for Nintendo DS. That way the boss isn't gonna do a special attack wich would lose time.
I love how, in line with necessity being the mother of invention, so many BIG time saves seem to be motivated by the intense desire to skip an unpopular section of the game xD Of course, if runners COULD skip all the game, they would, but I love how that gets dedicated towards parts they especially hate in the game xD Then again, those sections they hate often are the ones that are the longest to get through, so, that makes sense
Hey Linkus could you post the full VOD on your VOD channel? Would be really helpful to see little skips and stuff that wasn't mentioned or shown in the video. :)
TP is what my childhood was made of, I'm so god damn happy I got this game back then, the game still brings me joy with how massive everything is, no wonder I fell for RDR2 it reminded me of TP
It's a long time since I've actually had the ability to play Twilight Princess. But over the last couple years I've spent a ridiculous amount of time going down the rabbit hole studying speedrun tactics for this game. I like glitches in general but I find the exploits in Twilight Princess particularly fascinating. I'm amazed by the amount of skill and knowhow that goes into it.
Nice Speedrun man! This Zelda is my favorite right next to Majora’s Mask, always nice to see people learn all the absolutely absurd stuff you can do with the games.
What a crazy route this game has developed over the years. I think you might have forgotten to talk about how you got the glitched bomb bag through the minigame. Otherwise most of the important huge skips and glitches are included. Great video.
1:14:22 I think Spirit Tracks has a longer speedrun But it's close! Really cool video btw! You explain things very well and kept me engaged from start to finish:)
Sword and shield skip took me around 9 hours before I successfully got it. It is top 3 most difficult glitches in zelda games imo, with the other 2 probably in wind waker
Dude, thank you for explaining everything so clearly. I love your videos so much. Followed on Twitch, and I hope to see you next time you're on! Thanks for the good content Linkus ♥
8:15 Doesn't it check for the _Ordin Sword_ and Wooden Shield? From what I remember, there's no way to bring the Wooden Sword into Twilight normally since you need to give it to the kids so you can go see Ilia and Epona, have the cutscene play where you become Wolf Link, go through Hyrule Castle, then you go find the Ordin Sword and Ordin Shield so Midna will let you into the Twilight.
8:30 It actually checks for the Ordon Sword, not the wooden one. But also yeah, it checks for the Wooden Shield, so the trick is still obviously necessary.
Thank you Linkus for the Twilight Princess Video! It is my favorite Zelda game because I grew up playing it. Thank you so much for the awesome content! Keep up the good work!
As a programmer this is an amazing video, a big glimpse of how the engine of the game work, and how the flags and events are triggered in the playtrough, explained in a simple way
Still waiting for someone to figure out the wrong warp bug in this game. Its disapointing that after getting into the game, and learning to speedrun the game, even while breaking and testing the game, I can still never replicate the straight warp to the Ganon horse fight from the Bublin horse cutscene that i accidently did when i first played the game when it came out :c

This is also probably my favorite Zelda game. I've beaten it atleast 7 times. Back when it came out, I genuinely thought the graphics were good enough to be real life LOL. I just remember being blown away by how pretty the game was. The music and the environment kept bringing me back.
I really appreciate the effort you put in this video and the last one, thanks for all you do!
at 45:10 when you transformed into link while midna was sick, she literally asked "what are you doing?" like wtf link, i'm dying here!
This kind of video is exactly what I want, I can never get into speedruns for exactly the reasons you said so this is like the perfect thing for me
Am i the only one that actually likes the beginning?
No man I think it adds a lot to the story
I guess you are😂
@@leonardopolti05 Me, Myself and I. :)
The fact this content is so underrated yet so high quality is not okay
Really enjoyed this type of video, explaining how all the key glitches work and key skips really makes watching speed runs much more enjoyable!!
the way he says casuals is so funny its like the ironic “filthy casuals” memes
The fact you live streamed this and explained it all so well is mind boggling.
"I love Twilight Princess ! Who's your favorite NPC ?"
"My favorite what ?"
Absolute enjoyed this video. I wish there's a video like this for every Speedrun.
The beginning isn't borring, it build a story but you know it very well, that's all.
I love how, in line with necessity being the mother of invention, so many BIG time saves seem to be motivated by the intense desire to skip an unpopular section of the game xD
Of course, if runners COULD skip all the game, they would, but I love how that gets dedicated towards parts they especially hate in the game xD Then again, those sections they hate often are the ones that are the longest to get through, so, that makes sense
Even giving us time to enjoy the music. This game is truly and will ever be a masterpiece
Hey Linkus could you post the full VOD on your VOD channel? Would be really helpful to see little skips and stuff that wasn't mentioned or shown in the video. :)
Never seen a twilight princess speedrun and videos like these are so helpful to get into them and not be lost, thank you linkus!
TP is what my childhood was made of, I'm so god damn happy I got this game back then, the game still brings me joy with how massive everything is, no wonder I fell for RDR2 it reminded me of TP
You should do Low% on twilight Prinscess
this is EXACTLY what ive been looking for, exited to watch it!!
Zelda can miss her light arrows?! Never knew, the secrets speedrunning reveal to you years after beating the game.
I’m so happy that I have found your channel and you, you’ve given me years of content you are truly appreciated
I had no idea linkus was a nurse until the ad break holy heck. Even cooler dude than i thought
I have learned so much about how video games are made, thanks to speed runs.
Oh yes! I’ve seen tons of OoT and MM speed run breakdowns, and WW, but not so much Twilight Princess!
Thanks! Very cool :)
Nice Speedrun man! This Zelda is my favorite right next to Majora’s Mask, always nice to see people learn all the absolutely absurd stuff you can do with the games.
Linkus using my Hylian shield render in a few videos is pretty cool
44:35 For some reason, this reminded me of the scene from The Bouncer where Dauragon is carrying his sister to the hospital.
What a crazy route this game has developed over the years.
I think you might have forgotten to talk about how you got the glitched bomb bag through the minigame. Otherwise most of the important huge skips and glitches are included. Great video.
1:14:22
I think Spirit Tracks has a longer speedrun
But it's close!
Really cool video btw! You explain things very well and kept me engaged from start to finish:)
Sword and shield skip took me around 9 hours before I successfully got it. It is top 3 most difficult glitches in zelda games imo, with the other 2 probably in wind waker
It’s stupidly hard. I am trying to perform it once and I’m 5 hours in 😭
18:21 - Negativeser0408: "I found a new skip, say you beat the game in one minute. i call it lying."
Chat as always coming in with the 5head strats.
I can't believe linkus got the world record in the new category, explain the speedrun%
Dude, thank you for explaining everything so clearly. I love your videos so much.
Followed on Twitch, and I hope to see you next time you're on! Thanks for the good content Linkus ♥
much love to linkus, hes the mvp for this vid
8:15
Doesn't it check for the _Ordin Sword_ and Wooden Shield?
From what I remember, there's no way to bring the Wooden Sword into Twilight normally since you need to give it to the kids so you can go see Ilia and Epona, have the cutscene play where you become Wolf Link, go through Hyrule Castle, then you go find the Ordin Sword and Ordin Shield so Midna will let you into the Twilight.
he made a mistake
absolutely cracked commentary, mah man, u aCTUAL LEGEND-
thank you for still playing this game
8:30 It actually checks for the Ordon Sword, not the wooden one. But also yeah, it checks for the Wooden Shield, so the trick is still obviously necessary.
Awesome content of my favorite game from my favorite speedrunner. Thanks, Linkus!
“When he said listen to your disc” I lost it
Boomerang jumping is so common in this run that the uninitiated would think that it's an intended game mechanic.
linkus, you're literally the best Speedrun channel ever!!!! I'm a huge fan ily so much
Love Twilight Princess! I'm glad there's a nee video on it
i love watching tom holland play loz
Thank you Linkus for the Twilight Princess Video! It is my favorite Zelda game because I grew up playing it. Thank you so much for the awesome content! Keep up the good work!
As a programmer this is an amazing video, a big glimpse of how the engine of the game work, and how the flags and events are triggered in the playtrough, explained in a simple way
"but first, we need to talk about parallel universes" killed me
Still waiting for someone to figure out the wrong warp bug in this game.
Its disapointing that after getting into the game, and learning to speedrun the game, even while breaking and testing the game, I can still never replicate the straight warp to the Ganon horse fight from the Bublin horse cutscene that i accidently did when i first played the game when it came out :c
I love the Early Game in TP :D
cant really see why so many people dislike it
Ah, a speedrunner explaining a speedrun lol. I like this though because you just keep learning new ways to beat a game you love and enjoy
Real goat of speedrunning
Love that darknut skip
This man. “This is like impossible to do and very difficult” does it first try
