    The only paid integration in this entire video is from LMNT. The reason this video seems a bit off is because I had surgery which affected me being on camera and we were looking to post a video. We filmed an intro after I healed up, which allowed me to be on camera for a few minutes as well as a mid role sponsorship for LMNT. I appreciate you guys watching regardless, even though this one seemed a bit off! I completely agree!

      Since you’re not feeling great maybe you should do a video relaxing in fishnets… no seriously take a look at Wiggy’s fishnet thermal wear or (if you have money to burn) Brynje thermal mesh. They allow water to leave while trapping warm air pockets.

    I always bring an insulated camp cup/mug. It isn't the lightest and it isn't titanium, but it keeps my coffee hot down to the last sip.

      This. As I'm usually making food for more than just me (+1 or 2), I don't eat out of the pot, so the 18oz mug is good for food and drink! Each of us carry one and a spork (we all have our own preferences). When dry and packed, between use, I keep dry food/coffee in them.

    A shemagh. Never without one since my time in the desert in late 90-early 91. Super useful, much bigger than a bandana, can be used to wrap around a pillow, dries fairly quickly.

    I bring a “dog bone” food bag gizmo- it’s for a pct bear hang without having to tie a clove hitch around a stick under tension. Also use a small arbor sling - your bear line glides smoother (almost like a pulley) and snags are a thing of the past.

    Funny how I never see anyone talk about gravity fed filters like platypus or my amazon find: miniwell. I use mine at camp and process 3L at a time while I am setting up my tent and gathering firewood. As a more than pleasantly plump guy (just under 300lbs) I use a Helinox Chair 1 as the lighter chairs won't hold me (worth the 2lbs.) I will check Swift out as SB Viva is my go to for camp coffee. Plus gotta have that double insulated mug for hot tea at night.

    I recently purchased the OV Kota UL for domestic and international trips I have coming up. I wanted a backpack combining utility and convenience with comfort to use as a carry on for my 3-4 week trips. So far, I am loving this pack. Easy access to my gear and clothing is key. I'll know more by the end of the year, but I'm pretty happy so far with this pack. OV rarely lets me down. I will also totally agree and recommend the LMNT electrolyte supplements. They are amazing in every way. I appreciate the recommendation for swift. I'll give them a try as I'm constantly looking for good coffee on trail. A couple of things you did not mention were different types of trekking poles. I have several pairs and often switch depending on location and shelter. I loved my old GG poles, but the newer pair completely busted in NM on the first day of a trail volunteer trip along the cdt. I ordered a new pole, but I'm too afraid to depend on it in case it fails. I use my poles to support my tarps and shelters and I also fear injury in rocky terrain I have a pair of zpacks cork handled poles arriving this week and I'm excited to give them a try. Despite my affection for the black diamond folding carbon fiber poles, they just aren't tall enough to support most of my trekking pole tents. I fall back on less expensive but UL Fizan poles that never seem to fail me. What poles do you like to use?

    We have a bunch of the CNOC water bladders in our group and learned that the glue can let go around the 28mm thread. Still the best bag we've found for pairing with a Sawyer Squeeze.
    We keep an orange one for dirty water and green or blue for filtered water.

      Nalgene makes a 96oz canteen that I use for the bottom of a gravity filter when I'm with a group. It's 2.8 oz but stands up! I use the CNOC for dirty water.

    I just spent a year traveling Asia and I've been weaned off coffee, and I'm fully appreciating all types of teas now. I'm currently in Nepal and there's a drink they serve at the teahouses here called "Hot Lemon". I can't wait to make my own version of these back in North America. I feel WAY better drinking the hot lemons over coffee.

    I don't understand why cnoc make 2 different thread bottles, why not just make a cap adapter that takes it from big to small. bet they do it to make you buy 2 instead of one.

    • @FlyfishermanMike
      @FlyfishermanMike Месяц назад +3

      If you have an old BeFree filter you can do just that. Remove the blue filter where it's glued to the white top and you'll have a 42mm to 28mm adapter.

    • @richardwillson101
      @richardwillson101 24 дня назад +1

      That's the way of youtube I'm afraid.
      Everything is the "best product out there" when it is not only free but EARNS you money on top.
      But its only "the best" until the next sponsor comes along.
      You see this all the time on UK vanlife videos, it's really tedious.
      Especially when the same products go through the whole community and have VERY similar "sales pitches" until the next brand.
      Other youtube communities are the same.
      If ANYTHING is given free or sponsored, I disregard it as a "review" and just take it as a quick look at a product without somebody's opinion on it.

    This whole video screams paid advertising.
    Please try to avoid this, its a real turn off for listening to your opinions on ANY gear.
    Im not saying you cant do sponsored, free or paid, but make it clear and try not to make it sound like a list of things you purchased with your hard earned cash and use every trip.
