I’d go with the collapsible $20 stool that is crossbody design for carrying or in a backpack. This apparatus would never be comfortable enough to walk in. It looks like one of those things bought on impulse that winds up in a land field after 6 months.
I can see an application for this. For example in the garden, with repetive squatting positions. Kind of like a stool you move everytime you change to a different plant. But not as an actual chair.
As someone with mobility and fatigue issues the strap on chair seems like an epic idea. Its so hard for me to stand. But it would suck having to wear it everywhere with that many straps. Now if you could JUST put it around your waist, that would be awesome. Ive seen some cane chairs...wonder how THOSE are.
This seems strangely like it would be good for someone with mobility issues, but it also seems like anybody who does have mobility issues would need a lot of help getting it on and off
@@DrummerGrrrl Yeah I would never use this either, extremely dangerous. I do need some type of portable seat though because I can't stand long, I have mobility issues too. I was hoping this would be a good thing.

I love the concept, but not that version of it. If someone would tweak it and use something like aluminum/ titanium it could be handy for some people who have difficulty walking much distance.
When Jacey was running with it, I couldn’t help but think of when Forest Gump was running and his leg braces started to fall apart. I wanted to tell her, “Run, Jacey! Run!”
I think a MUCH MORE refined version of this would be great for accessibility for people with disabilities that don't allow them to stand for long periods. It could also be useful (albeit ridiculous looking) at a theme park where there are long lines
This would be good for a person like me, that works in a factory, and I have to stand by my machine for ten hours on hard one inch by one inch grates. By the end of the day, my back and feet are hurting bad! I've seen other companies make this type of exoskeleton chair, but for a lot more money, and looks well bult. I wish the company I work for would allow us to wear something like this.
By "dr", they probably mean surgeon. Our knees, ankles and feet get real sore as the day goes on. So if there's a way to be able to take some of that pressure off (without being fully seated - dropping our sterile field low) and stay sterile, it would benefit
If you or your colleagues are truly interested...the ones made the the German company Noonee are the originals that these are knock-offs of...probably less wobbly and less likely to sway or break than these.
@@SoManyRandomRamblings And being a German company you'd have EU laws to protect you. If these knockoffs break, good luck getting your money back or suing the manufacturer.
In theory, something like this could be useful for times you go long periods of standing/walking where carrying and/or deploying a more conventional folding chair is not feasible. Giving you a quick, hands free way to have a seat and take some of the weight off your legs/feet. In practice, it doesn't seem like it's low budget design is doing it much favours. Between the durability of the actual frame and the quality and usefulness of the straps, it doesn't seem like it would be particularly long-lasting. I think a more expensive but higher quality variant could work well, with an aluminium frame and better harness. It wouldn't replace a good folding chair for when you have the capacity to carry one, but it'd be great for scenarios where you couldn't use one.

Thanks for trying these out for our entertainment! I was about to buy these 2 years ago as a busker but the Sitpack already let me down tremendously and I wasn't about to waste money a second time!
Maybe you're testing the walkability of this more than it's designed for. I would imagine it shines in workshop or studio settings where you're not walking more than 10 to 20 steps in any direction before grabbing something and bringing it back over to a desk space. I think the biggest issue that I can imagine is if you were to sit at a desk how do you slide your legs underneath so that the tabletop is close..?
I feel like one of these with higher quality materials could be useful for the right kind of person. But realistically, it would have to be far better, far more expensive, and essentially prescription-grade, where people would be able to get them via medical coverage, and would be used for people recovering from injuries, or other situations where they should be out walking more, but also would have a need to rest frequently, and for whom carrying something like some of the other portable seat options might be difficult. Honestly, though, I see it as a very niche idea, that would more likely be a part of full-fat exoskeleton legs used for mobility, which are likely to find their way to consumer-level in the relatively not-too-distant future, as it's already being developed and used in military and medical uses, so the chances are it will eventually find it's way down to consumer level, once the costs become reasonable.
I've got lung disease, I get winded really easily. I could see something like this being useful for the mildly disabled, like folks who don't quite need a walker... I'd be curious to see the idea iterated on, I can see what they were going for.
I have a folding cane that has a seat and two legs.I can use it as a cane or sit if my knees hurt. It folds small enough to fit in a backpack and has a case either a long strap so you can carry it if you don't need to use it right away.
that could actually be cool in the garden, harvesting and trimming plants. may be uncomfortable if you need to bend over to the ground but for a raised bed might be perfect
For someone like me with chronic rib pain that worsens the longer I stand up it might come in handy for the frequent need to sit when shopping or standing in line.
For someone with chronic fatigue syndrome or myalgic encephalomyelitis this would actually be really useful especially if you are trying to keep your heart rate low and need to sit whenever your hr monitor goes off.
Is this meant to help someone with physical issues (someone who has trouble squatting, or maybe can't kneel), or do you have to be in really good shape to use it? In other words, does it require a lot of core strength, and excellent leg muscle control, to stay balanced while 'sitting'? I also think one would want to naturally have their feet further out in front of them.
We make fun of it for being $40, but we'd laigh even more for a better built $100 or $200 product. I can imagine an interior painter, or an auto mechanic using this, but the first time it breaks and you fall backwards, it's all over.
Prior to surgery I was unable to walk or stand for very long. This might have been handy for days when I would be on my feet more or allowed me to be more mobile. But would need to be more stable, perhaps the lower height adjusting piece could be metal.
I had something similar 30 years ago. It strapped to one leg so that you could stroll around a garden and as soon as you bent your knee as if to crouch down, the attached plastic seat met your butt and the whole apparatus acted like a stool to rest on as you pulled weeds etc. It saved a lot of time dragging a seat around. I’m sure it was inexpensive and came from Walmart or Sears.
I think it would be cool if a professional dance troupe figured out a way to use these things for a routine. But I imagine they'd probably have to make better ones out of some kind of light weight metal. They could do a large group routine where they get into different formations, similar to how marching bands sometimes march in formation. People would sit or stand in different places to make different shapes. They could paint the device all kinds of different colors and put LEDs on it. Or maybe they could figure out how to modify it to make it look like they have extra legs, or make themselves look like different animals. That's what I immediately thought of when I clicked on this video.
There is many versions of that exosceleton chair. The one shown in the video is one of the worst versions you can get. If you are willing to pay more, you can actually get some decant ones that are way better to wear and sit on. I bought a set on Amazon, and they were awesome to use. I gave them to my dad, who needs to sit a lot when walking outside. And he loves them ☺️.
"Every step pokes me in the butt... it is a little fun and oddly satisfying." lol this video is hilarious. I can't think of a specific use case this would be good for except maybe a photographer. I was picturing maybe a disabled person who wants to take frequent sitting breaks but then they would have to have someone put it on for them and it doesn't look particularly enjoyable to walk around with.
There's a Prime series, Jury Duty, and one juror is an inventor who shows up to court wearing a portable seat he made with crutches strapped to his rear & works similar to this. He called it chants (crutches + pants). I wonder if the writers got the idea ftom this.😊
The only scenarios where i can see it being useful is at conventions or wherever you plan to stand for an hour or more in line for something and you don't want to sit on the floor.
Can you bend over and pick up something off the ground when wearing it? What if you fall backwards when sitting down -- Do you stand right back up safely before hitting the ground? The only application I could see for this is Disneyland, but then you have to remove it before getting on a ride.
It seems clunky, and that it's mostly plastic, subject to breaking. If you fall over, can you get up from the ground? The cane-chair seems better, but that didn't exactly look very reliable or comfortable either.
@@kinashy8863 I see Temu has the "chair" for $93.47! If it comes from Temu, it's a knockoff. The Noone Chairless chair looks similar to the one in the video. The 2.0 model looks a little better, but it still looks plastic, restrictive, and uncomfortable.
Thanks for getting these to try. I had thought of getting them back when they first came out, But I wasn't sure if they'd work. I wanted to try them since I have a bad back, and now hip. Glad I didn't. Who knows if the first ones would have been any better or not.
I feel like the connection strap between the waist and the thigh ones/seat area were super loose when you tried it at the park which is probably why the thigh straps were falling down. There was like four or 5 inches of slack in there.

For someone with chronic fatigue syndrome or myalgic encephalomyelitis this would actually be really useful especially if you are trying to keep your heart rate low and need to sit whenever your hr monitor goes off.
Been watching your channel for years but please, please stop buying from Temu!
I remember that other little chair thing you did quite a while ago. It was good.
Amusement park lines, or assembly line type jobs come to mind as a possible use-case for these goofy, but useful-seeming things.
Good tip on these ones. Put on the feet straps first 😉👍
Is this meant to help someone with physical issues (someone who has trouble squatting, or maybe can't kneel), or do you have to be in really good shape to use it?
Jacey was so sweet! Great review as always, James ☺️! I'd love to see more crossovers with Jacey
This is your funniest review yet 😂
I had something similar 30 years ago. It strapped to one leg so that you could stroll around a garden and as soon as you bent your knee as if to crouch down, the attached plastic seat met your butt and the whole apparatus acted like a stool to rest on as you pulled weeds etc. It saved a lot of time dragging a seat around. I’m sure it was inexpensive and came from Walmart or Sears.
I laughed through the entire video…..!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for the entertainment. 👍
Thanks for letting Jacey try it!
This made me laugh so much! 😂 Thank you! And it makes me appreciate my walking cane with attached seat so much more. 😅
More interesting than useful.
Thanks for the tour!
This just made me chuckle a lot. Thanks for that. 😊
Starting to look like Robo Freakin' Cop.
Hello-first time viewer. Is that South Mountain? And is that traffic noise the 202?
I enjoyed your review and have decided not to try the exoskeleton.
Don't go cheap on this product. There are versions that can hurt either by failing when sitting down or by tripping you when walking.
@@meterncould you link me to the same version
@@Warriorx269 I'm sorry, the item isn't listed anymore 😧.
It's been many years since i bought them.
Jayce is so polite. And this “chair” is silly as hell.
This whole review gave me the biggest laugh of 2024 so far. Bravo dude 👏
Factory work
Defeats the purpose of sitting
Can you bend over and pick up something off the ground when wearing it? What if you fall backwards when sitting down -- Do you stand right back up safely before hitting the ground? The only application I could see for this is Disneyland, but then you have to remove it before getting on a ride.
People that have health issues might have uses for it
It seems clunky, and that it's mostly plastic, subject to breaking. If you fall over, can you get up from the ground? The cane-chair seems better, but that didn't exactly look very reliable or comfortable either.
Someone in the comments said it might be a knockoff of chairless chair from noonee

Unperfected concept that could be improved upon by a yt engineer.
I feel like the connection strap between the waist and the thigh ones/seat area were super loose when you tried it at the park which is probably why the thigh straps were falling down. There was like four or 5 inches of slack in there.
These are like POCs, not perfect but ... Something is there and may be in future we get a more tuned product

I have a walking cane that opens into a tripod and a seat. It's sometimes useful for standing in long lines.
I wonder if it's worth trying a more expensive version? Or are these all basically the same product?
