Röschmann rules . . . I am completely slain by her voice and her presence on stage. I wouldn't change a not (but I might alter that silly costume!) Brava Dorothea!
Does anybody knows where I can buy this video? My daughter (8 years)is very found of this cast. I have looked on the Internet but not found anything. /T
Well, the relaxing thing is for beginners really, you're taught to relax everything so that you at least also relax the important bits, when you finally understand what's happening (some never do), you can act, run around stage and enjoy your singing and still be relaxed where it counts. Some people are never able to relax, and some people are never able to get out of relaxing (are too wooden).
No. Opinions can certainly be wrong. But just because an opinion doesn't agree with your mindset doesn't automatically mean it is wrong. And I am not saying I'm right. I simply stated I noted some tension in his jaw through some of his vowels. That's it. I could be wrong, but it seemed to me like there was tension. That's all I was saying.
i was just stating my opinion, not tearing him down. roth is a wonderful performer and greatly talented. i never said i was better or could compare. just stating my opinion.
hmmm, i usually prefer a lighter more lyric voice for papageno...but this works. though i do wonder (as a voice major, and one who's preparing the role right now for a production) how he gets by with all that tension in his jaw. that would just choke up all my upper notes above a "c".
They're both great, but I liked the baritone very, very much.
Maybe it's just the clarity of the sound recording -- rare on youtube -- but whatever the reason their voices sound great.
Perfect! simply perfect

@@leomignonneau1765 I believe it’s a reply to some other comment in this section, but for some reason it doesn’t appear as a reply.
Uhm, I belive Röschmann is well known to anyone who listens to opera. But yes, a wonderful singer.
Bonjour Amis de la musique et de la spiritualité,
Est ce que quelqu'un pourrait me dire où trouver le DVD de la version 2007 ? Merci,
Sylvain

I heard once:
It's better to sing like a bird and to eat like a horse than the opposite...
You're my hero
Lol

Kein Vergleich mit dem charmanten Simon Keenlyside. Wie Tag und Nacht.
And, know that I am the furthest from a relativist.
